FEBRUARY SICK 3 COMPETITION! SEMI-FINALS!

Post by Posi-Cole »

EDIT: CHRIS MAY ADDED TO THE POLL!

Thanks for all who submitted videos. Thanks to Tom for getting on people's cases about sending videos :)

It was an interesting case this month... We had 7 entries, all of either Division 1 or Division 2 quality, and all fairly close in skill. Only one person stated that they wanted to be in Division 1, while a couple specifically said Division 2, and a few didn't give any mention to a division.

So, what is going to happen, is we are going to have one big vote, with all the videos in one. After a few days, I will split the group into two different groups based on votes. "Division 1" and "Division 2". A new poll will be run and the winners of these will be crowned the champions for this competition in their respective divisions.

Hopefully this is a fair decision. It was the best way I coudl think to make sure that everyone who sent in a video could compete, and also, I didn't want to just use my opinion as a basis for moving people around in divisions. Plus, big votes are more fun!

Please watch all the videos and vote for your favorite based on execution, creativity and style.

ATTENTION:

I neglected to put Chris May's sick 3 into the competition, because I didn't have a PM or an e-mail to remind me about it... Only a link that had been sent to me much earlier in the week.

At any rate, I'm glad this was caught before this vote got too deep.

So please watch Chris's video as well.

I'm really sorry Chris.

First before looking any other comments or watching the videos I want to tell I'm really sorry that my video is so dark.
You can't really see the bag at normal speed, but I assure that all the dexes are there. You can see some peaks of the bag at the slowmo to be sure that I don't drop it and the dexes are there.
But I know that it should be much brighter and I'm sorry.

Hey posi, don't say sorry. If anything, it was my fault for not reminding you.

Thanks a bunch for submitting my video.

I also voted for Rory.

Muted moves are hard and unique.

Also, to follow up one muted move with another one of a different set is totally sweet.

Also you used both pixies, and threw a duck in there too, so it had good variety. You were also really in control.

All the combos are really cool though.

Perhaps I will offer a greater review a bit later.

I voted for Chris. Every his move was unique and it was 4>4>4. Rory's and Tom's sicks are also very unique but had less adds. I didn't vote for Anssi, because I know he'll win this competition :P.

I like the person who voted for me but I doubt it was an expert in judging sick threes ---- but thanks a lot.

I voted for Anssi - I thought his combo was convincingly the best. Byrin's was good but I thought fairy butterfly>blender is too easy a link and his blender looks really frigid - so much so that I would have called the combo fairy butter>frigid blender>drifter.

All the combos are great though - good work everybody. I really like Chris' combo too.

Jeremy, when are you making your triumphant return to the world of sick 3?

I couldn't see Flavio's and Jochen's videos. :(
But the rest of them - this is a tough call like mr. Trump would say.

I vote for Anssi, and not just because he's a Finn. The tricks were stylish and hard.
Chris' is also good but I prefer Anssi's combo.

BTW Anssi, who is behind the camera there? :?

EDIT: It's probably my quicktime that bugs with Flavio's and Jochen's vids...

@ sniikeri: maybe you have to try it on this way:
1. right mouse button
2. path save under...
3. choose a player who plays mgs, avis

I thought you weren't supposed to vote until you have seen the videos, that seems unfair to them
