Where shall i start ?

Mmmh, Mr Hunter if you think i'll stop the madness anytime sooner then
my 84th birthday, than i have to call the medics
btw,drugs are bad...

Allright ...i'll confess, my footbag world was in shambles the last days,
modified is down and after a week of footbag heroism, resulting in
kick ass tiltlessness and hitting this huge thing called "double legover",
there was last week with its excuses, why i couldnt play and so on.
was that a sentence ? basically i played twice, because i was ill,
on holiday with my girlfriend, drunk and so on...

Having the "back to work-sore legs-modified's down syndrome" i went to
the gym today and i almost had a fucking heart attack.
Our team is five people and i was the first in from our lot, but when i
peeked in the gym and there was five people playing already 8O

That fucked my head up right, i mean i was flabergasted an shit :D
Lets start with these two hippie guys, who showed up last week aswell.
Dog, was i stoked to see them, i really didnt believe they would come back ever...
and they had two other guys with them, and one of em was really
talented :) Patrick, Jan, Wanja and Benni, i think ....

But the next one caught me totally of guard :
Thomas, the late 30's nice geography teacher with a questionable taste
in sports wear... i dont have to explain, how flashed he was, when he hit
his first 2 toestalls, why he is the missing link between Steve Martin and
the Golden Child and how pleased he was with his first shred.
I remember how he beamed, saying that he never expected footbaggers
tobe so"open minded and uncomplicated", i was in tears, guys, hearing
this from guy, who might aswell turn forty in mid combo !

The session was one big drill, Bjoern, Max and me were sorta
"circle schooling" ourselves, mostly two at a time while the 3rd one
ran around to help all the nu guys and also to keep em at a safe
distance from the jugglars glaring eyes, for they felt a little overrun
since the motor skills of circle kickers, when finally forced to drill,
can fuck up the fragile world of a fainthearted jugglar in no time :D

I didnt hit anything too wild today, but i increased my clippers up tp 13
and i had 21 contacts of mirage legover once and 16 trice.
Other than that i worked on flip pixie, and my smears and pixie pick ups
are getting some sort of shape...the good old drills like clip>mir>legover
and clip>f.legover>pick up were ok too and i had some decent runs again.
( 12-17 contacts, some 3 and 4 adders, flip pixie tricks midrun...)
Ah and i hit 20 legovers and one new combo;
paste>plo>legover>smear :)

In a way, it doesnt sound too bad now, but during and right after the
shred, i didnt feel too happy with my self ( lack of concentration and one
hour less time than usual ), but i rather stop the whining
and do my homework

According to Ice Cube and me , today was a good day !

Today i had to work a double shift, so i ended up with an extra 30
min of breaktime, which i used for having lunch, so that i could use
the regular one hour break for drilling.

Of course i warmed up with the good old mirage>legover stuff, later
i worked on BOP and flipside pixie .

After work i wanted to shred more and i gave Max a buzz and half an
hour later, Bea Bjoern Max and me where drilling hard in the Hunters infamous basement.

There was drills, strings and more drills at the end and i was quite
happy with the results :

25 contacts of mirage>leg over
illusion>pick up b2b
illusion>symp mirage>legover>illusion>symp mir ;
illusion>symp mirage>plo ;
pixie same muted clip>f. legover>pixie s. clip;
butterfly bsos ( for the first time ever  8O  )
pdx mirage bsos ( for the 2nd time ever, first time at work earlier on )
clipper>f. legover>legover>clip>mirage>legover>clip>mirage>legover>
clip>far legover :D

Of course this is small stuff compared to what other people on this
forumare hitting, but for me shit is crazy

Boy, i was so happy with butterfly bsos, cause i really used to suck
at butters, for i never showed much actual inteerest in em.
I guess everybody's game has its strenghts and weaknessness, but
i find it so weird, that i hit plo, smear or symp mirage bsos before
butterfly or pdx mirage bsos...

It was such an awesome feeling, when buterflies feel good and easy,
in this one string it felt especially nice, so my subconscious
commanded my feet to add mir>legover to switch sides,
so that i can hit another butterfly...and then a very common
and annoying thing happened :
i stopped. i hate this shit ! everytime i bust some thing new, i'm so
in awe or just plain surprized, that i kínda forget to continue 8O

But again, everythings spirit and will power is key here ;
Aside from the great atmossphere and considerable amount of
footbag knowledge in my team, my progress depends on things
like will power,theoretical/technical understanding and some
weird sort of honesty.

Like, that you dont fool yourself, trying big moves, while lacking the
basics, spending time to analyze your problems and find and use ways
to better one self ( certain triks, combos, bothsidedness, run lenght...)
and so on. German Zen Discipline Rules

The love and interest for all kinds of mental aspects was sparked and
fueled by peeps like Bjoern Max and Ellis P, and i thank u guys 4 that !!!

In my case i have to work on the following : strong clippers, i really like
to start stepping sets this spring and as Charles kindly pointed out,
ducking from clipper is a lot nicer than from toe !

Butterflies and other clipper related stuff in my strings would be nice 2.
Flip pixie and pixieing out of pdx mirages would definitly spice up
me game...
Max drilled the latter and it really looks nice :)

All my fancier tricks, like smudge, dimwalk, ducking mirage bla bla
should be worked on...do em midrun, bothsides..., just like i did
with the basics.

There is so much to do, but when i see Max being rewarded
with pure awesomeness ( original recipe ) for drilling hardcore
i know its worth it

More unrequested philosophy tommorow,
thank you please :D

Everything that you just hit is big. At all stages of your game. Everytime
you hit something new, it's big for YOU, and that's all that matters.

Yesterday's drilling for me was sub-par. i have lots of trouble getting
back into runs, I hardly ever go over 10 contacts right now, but my clippers are getting better and better again. Also, the floor gave me
shin splints. But then again, I'm so out of shape due to my long long
injury.

Back to work.

Basement Shred

Today Bjoern, Max, Philip and me met up in the evening for a session.
It was my off day, so i slept in and did all the tasks that won me three
"hosewife-of-the-year"titles in a row, and naturally i was late.

The guys were already at it and they kinda circle drilled, with random
strings going on.
I had a hard time to catch up, and i mainly worked on clippers and on
flip far legover, using the same drill as in the last session, but it took me
ages and was quite annoyed at times.
Maby its just me, but by the problems i had with flip f. legover today,
i realized that i can compensate the lack of strenght with concentration.
While i was focusing more, and getting the combo down twice, it came
to my mind that this could also work for flip pdx mirages ( something
about these 2 moves feels similar...imo).

After a while the others, who started earlier that day, were going for runs,
and i joined in a little too soon.
I really pray and work hard for the day, where i can just join a cirlce without warming up or sucking for ages :x

Fuck, sometimes i got so annoyed about my performance, just to get
more annoyed at the fact i didnt do my program properly at the beginning.
Usually i can deal with small shred spaces or a lack of time, but when
both come to gether, it takes ages before i got my flow and all.

The cool thing was, i didnt take it too serious, and watching my mates was
very nice and inspirational, some good stuff has been hit.
Philip got so much better, i think our drilling and bothsidedness obsession
seeps into his footbag brain, and he integrated the nice tricks he usually
bust into longer, more bothsided runs.
He hit whirl, dimwalks, symp. rev. whirl and later on he nailed his first
5 add : symposium reverse whirling xbd rake :D

Big Props to you man, and keep on drilling both sides :D

Bjoern was also shredding well, its cool to see him recover finally, and
he is also working more on his flipside, and so he should
His runs are getting longer as well and he had some fine ducking stuff
aswell as some fat combos (... dlo>dimwalk>...? help me out here, man )

AddHunter Max was in good form aswell, and he hit hard links and long
runs once again, i can remember one starting of with blurry whirl and
there was a super fresh-and-so-clean legbeater in the middle
somewhere too .

Post for yourselves guys, i'm lazy, plus i dont want to give that one killer
string away just now...

Well, as the session was comming to an end, i was just warmed
up really, and i busted some freshness at last, but i cant recall
any run in its entriety. If i wasnt fuckin up properly, my average
was like 14 contacts, with 3 or 4 three adds;
one time i could hit 3 pixe moves in one run: flip paste, plo and smear
In another run i landed magellan and ducking clipper, which felt nice,
for i dont do so very often, one of these is a premier i guess.. damm memory...or lack thereof...
anyway plo and symp mirage are becoming pretty much
standart and they used to be the only 3 adds, that i can hit bsos until
I HIT BUTTERFLY>PDX MIRAGE BSOS TODAY ! twice, and in proper runs !
:D :P
inverhitthiscombomidrunbeforeandhittingitbsoscompletlyblewmymind !!!!

Shit, that felt so awesome i used butters like mad in strings anyway,
stuff like butter>f.legover>run and butter>gyro toe>run.
More links : pdx mir>plo ( strong) and pdx mir>sym mirage ( flip),
pixie ss muted clipper>far legover>butterfly>mirage>run

And finally i hit that fucking ducking mirage midrun ! YES SIRRR :D
More than a feeling and more than once...!

My style fights for freedom and i'll get there soon

bye bye

Hell yah. Big props to Philip for the symp rev whirling xbd rake!

3 hour session with Max, Daryl, Philip and me. Good times!

I started out pretty good, with an 18-contact run, but lost concentration
more and more. I have to get my control back in shape, this is my
main problem right now. Also, I need some sort of anger management.
Yesterday it was really weird. I'd be upset because of missing an easy
trick, and then I'd be upset that I'm agitating so much..It's strange really,
and it keeps me from shredding freely because the anger clouds my
brain. So my runs went shorter and shorter. Shouldn't be so upset.

Anyway, here's what I hit:

Outside Smear
A clean torque that felt easier than ever
Smear>DLO>Butterfly>DLO
Rev. Whirl BSOS
Pixie Legover BSOS (oh finally  )
Pixie Legover>Pixie Legover

My flipside pixie is slowly coming. I should have practiced that years ago
already, but now I'm getting my flipside in shape.

Thursday, March 3rd
As the others wrote, we were in our basement again. It was really a cool session! I always love the positive vibe that comes with every footbag session :D

Ok now for the hard facts. Philip hit his first 5 Add. Symp. Reverse Whirling X - Body Rake. Big Props! And he started to use his flipside clipper more, wich is so great to see, since I'm such a huge fan of bothsideness.

Daryl had some long runs again. And his Butterfly > PDX Mirage bsos looked really controlled to me. A littel more work on the Butterflys and his game will take off to an even greater level.

Bjoern also played well, ok he disagrees but it's hard to come back after being injured for so long. Anyway his strong pixie still kicks ass. And his duckings looked like they even improved! I don't want to force you to hard with that flipside thing, but I beg you to use your flipside more ;) in runs maybe your runs will be shorter then but IMHO that is an good way to get use to that other useless leg.

I'm still happy with my run, just that one Toe stall in it kinda spoilages the whole thing. Butterfly > Ripwalk > Blur > Legbeater > Pdx Mirage > Legover > Magellan > Butterfly > Double Legover > Toe > Butterfly > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Osis (DROP)
Plus I hit Tapping Whirl for the first time.

Anyone wanna play today?

Saturday, 5th March

My 5th session this week. I've shredded everyday except for Wednesday.
Woah.

Drill session with Max in the Shredcave.

Back to Basics, drilling lots of Butterflies, Osii, Ducking Clippers and stuff.
Everyday I feel I'm getting a bit more back into my old form.
We didn't go for big stuff at all, but rather drilled effectively for 2 hours.
My legs feel so wasted. Tomorrow is my day off. (probably.)

I hit another ducking clipper>ripwalk, and weaving clipper>ducking clipper>ducking clipper, as well as 4 ducking clippers in a row.
flip clip is still hard to do, and my ankle really hurts, now that I think of it.

Saturday, 5th March
That was indeed a nice and short but quite effective drill session! I set my Infinitie record to 23 :P It seems like I can push that record only up by one contact everytime I set a new one ;) Anyway it was cool though. Nothing more special to mention.

7th March 2005

Monday Gym Session.

Players:
Bea
Daryl
Max
Bjoern
and again Butz, Wanja, Jan and Thomas (the new recruits)

1 1/2 hours of drilling, 1 hour of shred, and I'M COMING BACK!
This session was awesome for me. Drills went good, my clippers are
getting more and more stable again.

Drill achievements:
-13 Infinities
-15-18 contact Clipper>Osis rpt drill
-8-9 consecutive alternating osii
-lots of butter>pdx mirage
-flip Pixie coming along, getting better

I'm really happy with my Osii, especially because my ankle crankability
is still sub-par.

Shred achievements:
-Weaving clipper bsos
-runs getting longer, longest was 17 contacts today.
-generally a more relaxed feeling. At last thursday's shred, I was so
tense and unrelaxed.

New moves:
flip weaving Clipper (at least I think it's new)
and one sucker I've been trying to hit for a while, and it just
came easy and a couple of times:
Zulu Clipper (bs)
Zulu Butterfly (strong side) (flip rolled off foot)
Zulu Osis

I'm really diggin' duckin' stuff. I'll focus on that and flip pixie to get them
a little bit more solid before Todexon. I hope to be back in full shape,
but it's only 2 weeks away! Either way, I'll be shredding my ass off.

edit: Butz hit his first mirage, Jan hit mirages on both sides, Thomas (who
rised the club's age average significantly ;) ) hit 9 alternating Toe Stalls,
and Wanja had a couple of mirages as well. Go new'uns!

And with this, I pass the mic to our feared and beloved Ramblemeister,
Daryl!

ARE YOU READY TO RAMBLEEEE ?

To me todays shred was one big clean up, like in a cheap action
movie, where the hero whacks all kindsa villains, because the
killed his brother !
Hell yeah, i attacked my enemies so hard that i even fucked up my leg
doing it :? ...y'all can imagine how i feel now, can ya?

Flip far legover, clippers, butterflies and flip pixie were my main focus,
served with a lot of mirages and a little bit too many illusions for starters.

It was a lot of work and a lot of bending down, picking up the bag, failling
horrible in recalling the contents "pick the bag up technique thread". :D

There was some improvement, especially in feeling a move,
reallygetting into its action and its nature.

When you hit a move really well, you feel good of course, and executing
it rightly is also like saying"thank you for this nice sensation ",
dear butterfly !

Love is round.

My runs were starting out ok, i hit some pixie moves, ducking clipper,
ducking mirage and some butters, average contact length was a meager 8.
After 20 mnutes of shred, the 2 hrs before was workout time, i messed
up something in my thigh midrun 8O

Boy, that felt weird. and strange. and scary, still does kinda...
As you can guess, i wasnt too impressed, and i wasnt flying high excactly
anyway, since i wanted this day to be clean up day and nothing else.

i know how valuable these kind of sessions are , where there is
more drilling than playing and more"aargh's" then "yeah's", although
one has to admit that you dont feel too Vasek straight after them.

But what i truly appreciated, during and after the session, is watching
Bjoern shining.
He's not only getting back in shape, he works hard on his flip too,
he's busting long(er) runs and hits new moves all over the place,
just to forget to post them all here...
Pixie osis, havent seen that before, was this a first timer ?

Noobs : you rock and you are so welll behaved and cuddly these days :)
Max : i love your whirls, and symp. whirl is on the way... :P
Bea : ich hoff, dass shred fieber packt dich bald wieder, gesunde rasch

Hi guys, you travel to Prague and no one is taking part in the competition ?

You should go on stage every time you get the chance to do it, in the long run it will improve your game a lot !!!

Anyway viel Spass.

PS : how many Charles' Bags do you have in Munich now ? From what I heard you will have soon more in Munich than in Paris ! LOL !
