Retired Bags

At what point does your shredding partner become worn out? I've a bag that will never come clean, and brand new Mr. Sandbag that tore along the seams which have become shelf warmers. What for you, defines when your bag should be retired, and what do you do with it afterwards?

i canibalize them. i cut them open, steal the pellets, inspect the stitching methods, and then put the tired, withered shell in a box to "heal" after all the beat downs i gave it.

I collect footbags. And I keep them together at all times. They live together. THey cannot be without. When one retires it is entitled to a healthy old age, travelling with its younger companions. I will take these old bags to every session, I just wont kick with them. I dont believe in inserting your old bags into a ring of death and ordering them to fight to see the victor, then allowing the victor feast on the losers soft, supple insides like Hacksterbator suggests. I let them live happily, going and spectating at every shred session, and informing the younger, newer bags on how to become more stallable. These older bags usually take pride in seeing the younger companions go through puberty, which is quite different to humans. It begins as soon as birth takes place and continues through till retirement, this is known by the bags ignorant masters as "breaking in". The bags often take it as an insult as they say it makes them sound mindless and inanimate.

I"m a robber.....any bag that's gone, I cut open with a very, very, clean, precise surgery...and by precise I mean that no filler is lost. Then i make a new shell for it like a hermit crab.

I used to try to carry all my bags around for a while.

It was feasable for a little bit until I started stitching and my collection blew up.

I now have a footbag graveyard of sorts, all my busted or superchoice bags sit together on my shelf chilling out, telling stories and shit.

I could never bring myself to do what Andrew does to his bags.

Daryl replaced it immediately. The guy runs a hell of a business.

Yeah. I could never take the filler out of a bag, even if I never use the bag again. Even if it splits i will just be really careful to keep all the sand or pellets in and just sit it on a shelf like that.

my felix is awsome, and i couldnt find any where to post this so ill put it here, i took the time to count how many little holes are in it, there are 54 that i counted. any one else have a exstreamly holie bag?

I have a retired abshire, and i just retired my foot fighters i got in philly. my friend stomped it doing a PS whirl, and the seems are broken between like 5 different pannels

i currently have a Mr. sandbag, and ill be getting an ilja bag in a few days, and a Mini abshire in like a week or so

. i just keep my retired bags sitting on my dresser

my regular abshire had like 9 holes in it, before it busted in between 3 different seems in one spot. i sewed it up two different times but i couldnt get the stitching right so it broke open so i decided to retire it. my foot fight bag had like 15 or so holes. since its not made of the synthetic leather its gets holes in it a little easier. the space i shred in isnt very good for bags either. since its the dead of winter i have to shred in my barn, and its mad dirty in there. probably halves the life on my bags

i want it to be warm!

I've been using those tenie tiny colorful glass beads as filler. They are extremely expensive and I'm running out but they are definately the best. Beebies are also great.
I always remove the filler and put my own mixture in.

When one of our footbag breaks and we have no other to use at the time. We ask somone that knows how to stitch to stitch it up for us. Usually they get busted open from landing directly on them like on ps whirls (not good). Most of the time its the stitching in one spot so its easily fixable and definatly still playable. Either that or we retire em and buy new bags

I will buy floppy retired bags with holes in them. I'm an expert repairman and can fix any bag.
