it's a shame I don't have a scanner. I pretty much ONLY draw footbag doodles these days. I even just start rattling off strings and then draw a figure doing the last trick (which is usually something ridiculously huge).
I seem to go anime style on the characters I take time to draw and they are usually all in the same position. In grass (which I hate to play on but love to draw) and in one hand pinching a footbag and the other is pointing at YOU the viewer and behind the character is usually something random like RFA or Footbag or a phrase like You Are Your Footbag. And then I'll start the quiz or test that was just handed out. . .

Sorry about my spelling on the paper. What can I say? I'm a product of the America's public schools.
Why I take the time out of my day to resize and post such a lame drawing?
I have no fucking clue.

TOTALLY just kidding, it's a *doodles* thread yo! Lameness is not even a factor. Yours kicks ass.
More doodles!

qphox, that's awesome! I think your doodle would make a great graphic for promoting a music festival/footbag jam. I can see it on shirts and flyers...
I really like Chris' too, there's a cool sense of depth with the colors he chose. I just borrowed a Wacom pad and hooked up my scanner. I hope to add some art soon. Great stuff ya'll! Keep this thread alive!

You guys don't know how lucky you are to be able to pass the time in school doodling, I have to fucking sit there massaging my bag with my hands. Fuck, I wish I had something like this to pass my time.
And seriously, don't say "Anyone can doodle" because it isn't true. If I tried to doodle Footbag it'd look so crazy and non-sensical that it'd inspire someone to hit a new move. Seriously.

I've always been under the impression that doodles were just quick, loose, spontaneous expressions. That they didn't have to be structured and/or photorealistic. So if you're in a crazy non-sensical mood to draw, then by all means, have at it. I think anybody really can doodle, but not everyone is willing and able to handle any citicism about their art, constructive or otherwise.BainbridgeShred wrote:...crazy and non-sensical

I love doing quick sketches and doodles just for the fact that there's no pressure on me to get it to anybodys expectations or deadlines. They're just for me, just to warm up or loosen up my hand or just to express myself.

I'm not worried about correct proportion or anatomy, I just want to quickly capture a gesture or take note of a pose.

These first 3 images were from a series of quick sketches I did from my digital photos. I used an image viewing program called Irfanview to do a slideshow of one of my galleries showing each pic for 15 seconds. The next 3 are from my sketchbook using a marker that had a tip that simulated a fine point paintbrush. I did these while in the Phillipines stuck in the house alone and bored out of my mind.

No referrence this time, just off the top of my head

Again, I'm just trying to stay loose and expresive. I think some people get the impression that people that can draw create great masterpieces everytime they pick up a pencil or what have you. That's simply not the case. Not with me at least. Frankly, I'm just not that talented.

If any of my work ever did inspire someone to do something cool, though, I'd consider it an honor.
