that was a crazy video. NOt to mention it contains a song from my favorite radiohead album. Lon had some insanely long runs at css and you captured some of the nuttiest ones. *his super long ducking run* great vid overall and keep up the good work james. You are a cool guy and fun to shred with.

Thanks for all of the comments guys! I wish I had more Loren on tape. That guy is off the hook. Lon Smith is my new favorite player, I love his game.
Oh yeah thanks to Aaron and Nate for doing most of the filming with my camera. If you notice I am in most of the clips, because I could never seem to stop shredding and film.
Everyone who plays footbag is awesome

Oh for those who can't tell or don't know, here are the names in order of appearance. I chose not to clog the shred with text.
Section 1:
Jim Penske
Aaron Orton (USMC)
Nate Linscott
Stephen Barnes (The next Vasek)
James Randall
Evan Gatesman
Chris Holden
Daryl Genz
Luis Monhollon
Brad Kaplan
Brad Nelson
James Erickson (me)
Loren Baum
Ethan "Red" Husted
Section 2 is a mix of Daryl, Loren, Nate, Red, and Penske.
And then of course section 3 is the crazy, styley, and smooth Lon Smith.

Thanks for the video! I liked it. I felt strange about the end though, a good video does not have to say the end, the music got all crazy but you kept the video in slo-mo and then faded out the music. It felt anti-climactic. But, that's okay, I'm only telling you this so that, the next time you make a video, you will make a better one
Just great, I totally did not write this, Nate had been on my computer last night while we were hanging out.shreddaily wrote: What the fuck sam! That video was bomb. The Lon section was perfect, plus it gave video of lots of CSS shredders. All of the epic parts of the song were right to the shred. I could watch Lonns section for days!! All of your "constructive critiscizm" is LAME. I can't wait to tear apart your "professional" videos.

I finally got around to d/l it last night. Nice job James! I also thought it was tight. Although I would have rather you left my dumbass string out, but hey its cool
at least I hit pdx whirl. I like the music as well, and lon is very good, I still have some footage of sunday night to put out, I can't wait to post it

What a bombass video! So many modifieders I've never seen shred before, like Maraxus, Stephen and Loren!
Loren is off the hook, such nice combos and hard links!
The Lon section was epic, it went really nice with Paranoid Android!
Thanks for putting this together!

Ummmm, Sam is entitled to his opinion. Just because you disagree with him doesn't give you the right to 'tear apart' what he does.ericksonj wrote:What the fuck sam! That video was bomb. The fact is, if you post a video here, then be prepared for people to tell you what they don't like about it. For example, Nate mentions that there is no rap in the video... it's clear he's sick of rap soundtracks (as am I, to a point), and he's stated that.
Sam's opinion is his own, and I'm sure he's not trying to run you out of town or anything. He did say he liked it and does say at the end of his post
We ask for critiscizm so that we can improve... like calling a move 'The'. It's all about improvement. It felt anti-climactic. But, that's okay, I'm only telling you this so that, the next time you make a video, you will make a better one.
Now, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to speak for Sam... he's pretty good at doing that himself. I just figured that you were over reacting a little.
ps, I'm downloading the video now.
EDIT
I think I have to agree with Sam here. I found the choice of music to be a little morbid for footbag. On their own, I love the songs used (especially Radiohead's 'Paranoid Android' - one of my all time favorite songs), but their use as a soundtrack for a footbag video was a little off putting.
You've got some great footage there, James, and have done really well with editing it and incorperating so many players from an event (something alot of people don't do). But like all films, be them made in Hollywood or Bollywood, the soundtrack is more important than most people are aware of.
It was a nice try, using something other than techno or rap as a soundtrack, but I think you fell short with your choice of music.
But keep at it! The sheer volume of players on your video makes it stand out. It's all good shred, and you've used it and not just focused on all the 'name' players.
Uh I didn't write that post above, that was nate using my account last night.
Thanks for the comments about the video. I am by no means a great video editor, I don't claim to be and don't aspire to be. I am just a footbag player with a camera, and really one of only 4 or so that brought cameras to CSS, so I felt it was my responsibility to put out video so people could see what went down. I'm just trying to add to the footbag community. If people don't like my editing style, then thats fine, because there really is no style to it. It is just clips fit to music. I just presented the best shred that I saw and have on film, no more no less. The only thing I wish I could have done differently would be to film even more players, just so that I could get their faces and shred online too.
Peace out folks
