Do you warm down?

Post by Thom »

We have 'how do you warm up?' but do any of you guys warm down?

I'm accustomed to it from rugby. Its pretty simple some static and some moving stretches. I think it just helps prevent soreness after activity and help you relax.

Just wandering if any of you guys do this. And if you do, how and why?

Sometimes at the end of my sessions when I'm really tired, I'll start doing really simple tiltless strings. You can consider that my wind down, and sometimes after I'm done shredding, I'll do some various stretches to relax and prevent any stiffening of my muscles.

Yeh definitely, warming down is probably more important than warming up, though is guess warming up happens whether you want it to or not :)

I do like a few tiltless strings or maybe some osis and stuff to warm down, and then go into pretty much the same stretching routine as my warm up, though i do it for longer during warm down.
If you dont, you run the risk of muscle stiffening, cramping, lactic acid buildup type stuff etc which can affect you later in the day or even the next day aswell.

I stretch sometimes...like John said, to keep your muscles from stiffening or anything..uh...not good.

Nah..sometimes I try to stretch, but mostly no.

I try to hit something good and big before I stop..of course this usually means alot of time of badness in order to pull it off
