Hey
I was reading the "bu bye modified" thread. Lots of people said to use Firefox. I started using Firefox a few months ago when I reformatted because of all the spyware and crap, but I really hate the browser aside from the lack of junk-infiltration. I noticed a lot of websites don't open properly. I'm not very computer-competant, but I don't know why sites don't appear the same as in IE. I used Opera for a while, too, and I think I had the same troubles there.

My own site, http://www.hackrifice.com, is really messed up when I open it with Firefox. Is there some way to fix this?

it's a chicken and egg problem.

1) Standards are set
2) Developers are lazy and don't follow standards
3) IE renders the page "correctly"
4) F/OSS browsers do the "right thing" and display the page like the pile of steaming shit its code looks like.

But why code to the standards when IE is the "standard", so developers stay lazy . . .

yeah, seriously. i hope IE7 steps up to opera's "acid test" challenge. microsoft keeps shitting on CSS though...

what i do is use the ie view firefox extension. it lets you open a link/page in internet explorer, then you can go back to firefox right were you left off when you leave.

I have found VERY few websites that don't render properly in firefox - although maybe that's just the website i go too... If you don't really like it, I suggest you change it. that's the power of firefox - extensions! also, you might prefer mozilla - same rendering engine, different user interface.

Yeah Firefox does have its ups and downs

But the virus protection is incredible...I am not sure though about me using IE and getting a virus here. I have all the stuff like Zonealarm and Macefee (sp?) So I may go back.

Firefox is just so easy to use I think, just some pages dont come up.

hackrifice opened up fine for me. I love tabbed browsing too. Just click ur middle mouse button. I used to have like 10 IE windows open.

A good tip is to update your firefox as often as possibel..
And i think you can report to them if a page dont show as it should..
I like firefox, but i do also use IE..
