Have you ever tried hanging out with her, taking up one of her hobbies? It can be frustrating doing something you're not really into JUST to spend time with your partner.
apparently i gave the wrong impression earlier...i never even asked her if she wanted to kick with me, nevermind forcing her into anything. and when we went out, or were just hanging out, i pretty much never kicked, because she didnt, and i just wanted to chill with her. she knows i kick 24/ other than that, and recognizes my obsession with it, so she ASKED me to teach her, because she wants to kick with me. i told her it wouldnt be easy, but if she really wanted to learn, cool.

If both you and your girlfriend have the right motivation to teach/learn footbag then you should not degrade her by comparing her to a five year old. As a teacher you need to have patience and not belittle her, or don't be her teacher.

I don't "belittle" her. I was just describing how it felt to teach my girlfriend to kick the bag properly. And I think her motivation comes from a childish perspective. I'm "playing" with something and she's not, therefore she wants to play with it. I like that she has that mentality sometimes, it allows her to enjoy (maybe) something that I enjoy, but I still want her to kick it to me.

I meant no disrespect to my girl, it was just a descriptive sentence.

Maybe the problem is not that the girls are not there? But where we search after them..
Must footbaggers play in the middle of a town, or in a park..
The Park -
Girls in love, or nature girls show up
The City -
Girls shopping show up

Maybe footbaggers should be better at showing up at girl soccer training? And other places where girls who like to sweat is found!

this is a really good tought and i agree with it. i was thinking today actuly after watching lise video an was just in aww an was thinking "damn why cant i get some girls into this great sport, i cant think of any girl around my area who would even be intrested in trying to kick" an thats a really good thought asmus. somedays i think that footbag will be on tv one day and when that happeneds tons of ladys will get involved along with lots of sheders.

i was watching diseny channle with my little cusin over easter dinner an they had this thing on with a girl yo-yoing an it was kinda like a way to show how kids do different things and to show off alittle an premote the sport of what they do. think if footbag was on that if it was aired 3 times a week. the sport would go from underground to a brand of footbag shoes in no time. then again this could never happen an part of the reson i think we all love this sport so much is bc its so underground, at least sometimes its cool to show ppl something new, but cant help but wish every one could experiance this insanely intense happyness that comes with footbag.

i gess in the end one of us footbagers must become famus an be on tv for being a actor or musician or something an show off footbag some how...

just another idea!

SHRED AT SOCCER FIELDS WHERE GIRLS LIKE TO SWEAT.

Its a solid argument. I agree. That's where the best Shredders would be.

Indoor soccer has the best surface to kick on too.

I'm happy with the number of Shredders. I think there are more and more girl Shredders all the time and it's fine the way it is. Sure couldn't hurt to have a lot more though.

maybe footbag will never explode. it did have 2 REALLY good opportunities.

California games and the movie shes all that. and that doesnt seem to have any effect.

The best way to expand the sport is college. Shred at college campuses every chance you get. I didnt see a anybody shred at college but i saw someone do a pendulum and sole delays and it made me wonder what else can be done and then i came across www.footbag.org and my jaw dropped.

So no matter what skill level you are do it in public even the smallest easiest tricks can catch someones attention. For ever 10 people who see you and say hes plays to much hackeysack, there may be one person who will say holy shit i have never seen that before how did you learn to do that.

Im in chicago and there are 2 ONLY 2 fricken freestylers on the entire south side of chicago. i have to drive 45 minutes everytime i get bored playing alone. so instead of whinning about it im setting up a jam. flyer promotion all that good stuff to try and get some newbs out and about to see what they have been missing. i got plenty of connections and freinds in good places to hand out flyers and josh elmer (my fellow southside freesyler) works for hot topic so he can do some promoting that way. throw in the skill and newb freindlyness that is the Chicago inner circle and i will hope for a succesfull day of shred.
