Zing of the day!BainbridgeShred wrote:I'm glad I learned all of that within a month of playing.
I had a couple decent to dope sessions over the past couple of days. Saturday was the normal session, Sunday was mediocrity at its best, and today was a nice, long, schooling session.
Report from those:
-5x pixie ss mirage
-5x plo
-3x smp whirl each side
-6x drifter (not new, but considering I haven't tried consecutives in a couple three weeks, this was satisfying)
-16x ducking clipper
-3x ripwalk (from each side -- stepping is getting so much easier!)
-pdx drifter>drifter>pdx drifter>drif--FUCK YOU
-pixie ducking is getting to be nearly effortless
-starting to learn pdx whirl, so - pdx whirl>pdx whirl (from each side, numerous times)
And I'm on top of some other stuff I've been meaning to hit... Soon!
I'm going to take a break from footbag over the next couple of weeks to try and do yoga, build other muscle groups, and rekindle my love of the sport without it seeming like a chore. This is convenient, as I'll be in Hawaii for a class project for two weeks.
Hopefully I'll be able to pick up some of the joint supplements that Lon and Red were recommending.
(note to rcs people: I will be shredding this weekend at the Y for sure, and Dan, if you are, I'm still up for a midweek session)

Doesn't matter, now or then you can kick my ass, have fun in hawaii though, that should be dam fun ... someday I plan to go and try to surf.
Since this is the RCS forum I figured I would put this in here, I got an email from Miles, he is allowed internet access now (or somthing like that) and wanted me to give you all a sloppy kiss, however, since homey don't play that I decided to put up that he sounds very anxious to get back but that he had a wonderful time. He should be back in couple weeks.

So nobody has been kicking?
I havn't myself, just when I was turing my game around and doing things "right" I go and catch some flu/viral thing and I am out for 2 weeks, really bad though, high fever and whatnot.
Now, I am almost over the cold but it has taken toll on my asthma, I have some viral infection in my lungs now and cant do anything active really, juggling is pushing it but I have gone back to that in this time of absence.
I only wish I could kick without having an asthma attack..........
I hope to be 100% by folklife but this will definetly throw my game off, I am loosing that muscle memory and everyday I am gone its going to be harder to preform, I might just end up filming at Folklife.
How is everyone else doing?

I'm back and I believe I'm in action.
Hawaii was fantastic!!! I managed to only cave and lightly hack twice during the trip and I feel great for it. I picked up the bag and while I felt very, very jumpy, my muscles feel great. I took an MSM/Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement every day there and my joints feel terrific. To cap it off, I think one of the deciding factors in how great I feel is how much I crosstrained. I snorkeled and hiked nearly every day, and did a lot of extraneous swimming. I also played a LOT of pick-up ultimate games (something I haven't done in a year or two). This is definitely a sport I'm getting back into.
I'll see you crazy people this Saturday! (AND AT FOLKLIFE!!!)

I haven't been posting here much, but lately I've been sessioning on average three times a week -- twice (usually) with only Justin and the other one or two times schooling on my own. Justin and I have been BUSTING. We've been having three or four or hour two man sessions consistently and our efforts are showing. I've become really disinfatuated with posting my progress on here, but yesterday's session got me really excited. I'm finally starting to figure out how to get my steps high and "easy" (back straight, high knees!). The beginning of the session (Justin and I) we worked drills and consecutives, and for the last hour, I made attempts at hitting 5's -- I think the drilling in the former 2/3 of the session paid off.
new combos:
- pdx whirl>drifter>drifter>pdx whirl (made improvements to my pdx whirl technique -- thanks J)
- 4x ripwalk (all around waist height
)
- stepping clipper>ripwalk>repeat (see above)
5's hit:
- phoenix bs (easy money)
- darkwalk bs (also pretty easy)
- blurry whirl bs (new)
- backside blur bs
- spinning ducking butterfly
- spinning ducking paradox mirage (new)
- paradox torque (new)
- smp whirling swirl (new)
Twelve fives hit multiple times each and five new fives. A productive session.
Also interesting was that after laying down spinning ducking butterfly/mirage (strong spinning ducking is getting pretty easy) my flipside spinning ducking felt quite on point. Next session I'm going to get those two on that side.
