had a good kick with Aric and Pat at RIT yesterday. Aric was hitting LONG controlled shuffly strings, and his ducks and dives are getting incredible. He does them both sides with great consistency, and more and more with butterflies and mirages after them. I've been working on my head stuff as well, and it's coming in a little more strongly. Not as good as Aric, though. Pat's style was looking as good as I've ever seen it, with some repeating infinities with no plants and more control on his toe stalls.
Yesterday was my first outdoor kick at RIT this year, it felt GREAT GREAT GREAT!!! we're playing again today, in a few hours... I'm psyched... but back to yesterday... I hit stepping whirl> symp whirl and blurry whirl > symp whirl, both starting on the right foot, but neither from the left. Hopefully, today I can get those. My double overs are still crap... Paradons, barflies, down doubles, DOD.... all crap. CRAP!!!! Soon, I hope, they'll be better... work work work... My drilling has improved my runs, at least, and I had some really good shreds yesterday.
I almost invented a new 3 dex yesterday... I think it might happen today. That would be sweet... That said, I'm definitely bringing my camera to this session... I KNOW I can hit it... I can see it.
wish me luck...

good session with chris yesterday in the street by my house. I didn't hit my new trick, I gave it a few attempts, but all I got was close. What I did hit, however, was symp barrage bsos with my first flip symp barrage. Chris said they were both quite clean. I also hit osis > symp whirl rpt first try. My fairy sets weren't as good as they could have been, they haven't for a while. Those will need more work. I did lots of ducking clippers and lots of symp whirls. I also hit a few gyro mirages, and once I did it BSOS. This was 3 days playing in a row, and I felt great at the end, I wasn't even really sweating. I would have kept playing, but I bent my ankle a little going for a barrage, and I decided not to push it.
I had a good time, a nice little 90 minute session. Chris played well, maybe he'll post what he hit.

thanks d. that's a hard move for me. I really wish I could just do it... Soon, I hope. BSOS is a good start. I kicked yesterday, but it was a super lightweight session with my friend Phil. He's a chuck-wearin hacky sacker, but he thinks freestyle is awesome, and I'm pretty sure he's going to get a set of lavers. He's definitely learning-oriented when it comes to freestyle, and it doesn't make him uncomfortable to play with someone better than him. I drank a beer right before I played, and that threw me off a little bit, but I was trying to keep it a pretty low key session anyway. Yesterday was my 4th day in a row playing, which I don't think I've done since Worlds, but it was more like a break day. Hopefully, I can find someone who wants to play with me a bit more seriously today, and hopefully I won't crack a beer right before my ride shows up.
hm. and not much interesting stuff happened yesterday after the session... I'm in a less than healthy / productive daily routine... falling into the bowl and the bar...

I think I"m going to invite a few nazareth people I've met in the past few weeks to GRASS. They do devil sticks and are love watching even me shred. So I'm guessing they'll love the event. I'll let em know next time they're out in the quad playing frisbee or something.
Just thought I'd add something to this page. I'm bored. Gonna go to the mall and shred for a bit before seeing a movie. Later.

hey folks... last week I kicked 6 out of 7 days. The final of those six kicks was not so good. I played last night with mike anello, and my legs were pretty beat... no energy. My ankle has stopped hurting, thankfully. I did a hard blender and a ripstein to test it, and it felt fine. It's still not as cranked out as it was, hopefully, that will come back soon. I want to continue kicking a lot more, but I'm going to have to make some serious dietary changes. I need to eat!! My job gave me a $50 gift certificate for the local grocery supermarket, so that will put me off to a good start.
So, generally a good week for footbag... All that work on symposium whirls got them a lot more solid both sides. Soon, all our kicks are going to be outside and surrounded by people... last spring was one of the most amazing seasons of my life... I partied it down a lot, met so many great new friends, and freestyled a LOT! It's about time! SPRING!!! FOOTBAGGGGG!!!!

so yah my old account is all fudged up, and i havent been able to log onto modified for the past 4 or 5 days. so i had to create a new one... Had kind of a crappy week with 2 days of footbag.
1st day was cool with matt and pat, don't think i hit anything new, but i had lots of nice strings with tons of ducking, diving, weaving, and zulu stuff. The over the neck stuff is becoming very key, and very consistent and i love it!!!
The next day which i remember better since it was just friday, was a nice session with matt on a street corner. We impressed quite a few ppl! This one lil boy was going crazy (lil kids are great
), and his mom said she'd bring him to our event since his dad juggles and the boy had such a big enthusiasm for it. The session went really well for both me and matt. Matt had lots of nice repeat strings, and the symp whirls were looking really nice, nailed them just about every attempt too. I had lots of the over the neck stuff again, and some new moves. 4 new 5's and a new 5 > 5. Finally hit ducking PS mirage on both sides, flip matador (my flip nuke set is almost there), and strong side nucleosis. Finally landed a torque in front of somebody, and I should have porque soon. The 5>5 I hit, sumo > darkwalk, I should of hit back at GLASS, but I couldn't quite pull it off then.
Busy week ahead... midterms, practicals, fixing probs from last week, catching up my work, and finally more GRASS planning (only good work to be done)!!!!!
(edit) Just remembered that i hit another 5 that day Royal Assassin (love this move, awesome MtG card)

keepy uppy kicky
My friend Shannon likes footbag. I gave her my twisted to use a few days ago, and she can do mixed alternating kicks and she's good at passes and volleys and I believe last night I saw some first toe stalls both sides. She was showing that slightly aggressive frustration and persistance that you need to have when you're just getting started. It was cool. She's using some slidey Nike sneakers, but I think she's going to get some lavers, I can see that I'm winning her over to the dark side. We played in the alley beside the coffee shop downtown (I just went to write that word and 'downtime' came out of my fingers) and I did some tiltless pants shred (the best thing ever invented). I also did some fakeout kicks, back stall to blind frigidosis, and lots of REALLY bad form on my kicks and stalls (bad example for shannon). I was doing most of my kicks as lazily and goofily as possibly, and a lot of my stalls were a raise of the toe and a stand up on my heel to let the twisted do all the work. I think I did some proper ones as well.
I'm excited for shannon learning, though, she's built well for it, and she likes to play and believe me when I say that she'll fit RIGHT into the footbag subculture
and she was the one initiating the kicking yesterday! that was weird. I'm glad I had my lavers on. I wear my green stripey ones all over the place now, and I can do lots of simple tricks with pants on.
Life's about to get really good really quick around here... I'm going to Kingston this weekend, the world is coming back alive again, the spring party season is just about to get going... GRASS~!!!!! there's that too... I can't wait for the rockin outdoor shreds to get going.
I can't wait to get playing later and do some paradox illusions and possibly some bubbas. Long tiltless shred is the cheese.

Just sent in a new order to Ellis for the footfighter that didn't go through. I sent it GUARANTEED AND FAST order-ish so way to go me.
Thanks matt for saying tiltless strings "are the cheese" for not only do I agree completely (especially when you and steve do them) but also you've just gotten me calling things "the cheese". I likin' that.

Session at RIT with Steve and Matt and random circle kickers. Beautiful day out, good session. Strings were normal, nice combinations of duck/dive and shuffling. I want to mix the 2 more often, keep my strings looking unique.
New stuff:
symposium mirage > symposium pixie (rpt)
double over down swirl ... 2nd try of the day... like my 4 or 5 try ever.
pheonix > matador
pheonix > reverse whirlygig
blurry whirl > ripwalk 2nd time linking out of blurry whirl
Was also close to some other new stuff, hopefully hit those soon.
Footbag is great... everything else is crap right now

I'm making a mockery of my job... not that it isn't a mockery in and of itself. but that's beside the point. I just blow it off for any excuse to go play legball with my friends. I'm glad I've got my priorities...
yesterday I did not play much, except for some rakes on my front porch and butterfly rake both sides while I had a beer and waited for my roommates to get back to the house because I was locked out. My ankle is almost all the way better, still a little tight, but that's all. Totally functional...
I'm buzzing up to Kingston this afternoon (after I leave work early
) to do a demo at a fashion show with Tom tonight and tomorrow (oh shit, the reality of how much fun this is going to be just hit me) and then we're just going to party like slovenly lazy bastards for the rest of the weekend... or something like that. and I get to meet Vida finally!! how exciting. Kingston is crazygood fun... I just wish I had some breakfast today so I'll have some energy later for the demo. but no, only lonely banana...
My move to Toronto is still going on in the back of my head, but not much is going on with it. I haven't heard anything back from the Canadian government regarding my citizenship application. I guess that's key.
godi'msohungry... huuuuuuuuungry.... I'm going to go get a snack.

YAY!
I hope you get the citizenship soon, I'm sure that they are just overwhelmed with applications from unhappy americans.
That is so SICK. I can't wait to shred with you aallll the time. You are one of Toronto's favouritest!
