I am calling out to JOHNNY SUPERMAN!

You are never online, I want to talk footbag stabbing and THIS WEEKEND with you.

Please come on MSN or call me at home: 613 542 4244

I am making a 3-colour bag for myself right now. I wanted a new bag because Paprika is ready to be retired.

I *haaave* to change my filler!
I have been using small aquarium rocks and copper coated bb's.
This is a smart combo for these reasons:
- bag isn't too full while still having nice weight (~40-45g)
- the rocks grip eachother and so the bag doesn't slide and roll around, it sticks well
- sets well

This is a stupid combo for these reasons:
- the rocks scrape the copper off the bb's and it coats the inside of the bag, needs to be washed off
- bag needs to be washed often in general because the rocks grind away at the bb's leaving iron powder all over the inside. When you wash it it comes out as thick gray sludge. Yum!
- the rocks "break the bag in fast" and by that I mean they tear my bags to shit. But hey!, they play freakin awesome.. all week long! hahaha

I am making a red/blue/yellow bag for myself right now, I am going to fill it with itty bitty necklace beads and bb's. I have a tight stitching style so it should be okiedokie.

I hope this bag lasts a long time, I want my bags to do that. Oh yeah, and I want them to kick ass. I still don't really know why one bag should turn out better than another from one stitcher to another. It's so interesting that there are so many different people creating effectively the same thing but with a massive variety of styles and techniques. I still have no idea how other people's bags look like on the other side.

Can someone PLEASE take a look at this picture and let me know what you think about my stitching?

Image

I am going to go keep working on my new bag. I hope this winds up being my new style of bag, it is looking nice and medium juicy. I am stoked. 8)

Here is the bag I was talking about above:

Image

His name is Pumpernickel and he is a little different than my standard bags. The main difference being the filler. I used bb's and some sweet ass necklace beads I found. They are sweet because they are square and thus they don't slide very well!
Also it's my first fullout 3-colour bag.
I want to get my bags effing sweet before I start mailing any more out, I would much rather make long lasting bags than crazy shred bags that last a week or two.

Ryan Seath came into town last night.
We had a KFM club meeting and filmed a buttload.

RYAN SEATH HIT RUBBERMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't frigging believe it! He and I have been trying the parts for.. forever now, but last night it all came together for him. Lucky for him we caught it on video! wheee!
Check it out: http://www.footbag.org/media/344/Seath% ... berman.wmv

I hit a few things I was happy about like...
- pixie osis>ripwalk bs first try
- I hit a sick 3
- janiwalker>pdx whirl
- uhhhh..

ok, so I didn't hit very much cool shit.. I really thought there was more.
Ooh! I footed 10 osii>blurry whirl and I was zooming all over the place. I effing love zooming! I hit zooming spinning osis (not.. spinning spinning osis.. just spinning osis out of osis, what is the right way to say that?) midstring, that felt pretty badass.

What the fuuuuck! Fuck, Ryan, you're getting a lot better than the last time I... well, saw you on video. I'm a loser, I can't even hit two thirds of those moves. Atomic hurts my back.

"Holy cunt derrick is getting good!" (me)

I forgot to mention that Derrick Ogden is really fucking amazing at footbag.

He footed whirling swirl on camera and he can hit basically anything he tries in like.. a minute and a half.

I knew he was gonna get good.

I saw him hit a perfect ripstein yesterday first or second try.

Ooh! That reminds me of another personal highlight! I hit ripstein first try of the day with Pumpernickel my brand new bag!

And Jared hit THREE NEW THREE ADDS!

He hit pixie legover after telling us repeatedly he couldn't, but I TOTALLY knew he could and he put it down all no big deal like.

He also hit paradox mirage and then once we were done giving him props I said to him "lets see the other side!" and he nailed it! BAM!

Kingston represent!

So yeah, yesterday was alot of fun and there will be a video of it real soon.

So Ryan and I were walking down the street after finishing breakfast and this conversation took place.

Me: Hey Ryan, that store has a pair of CT520's, you should go buy them!
Him: Okay!

Then like.. three minutes later we were walking down the street again and Ryan owned a pair of crisp new white CT520's!

We just did the lacing mod and we are drooling over them.

This has been a good trip for Ryan so far.

I love that new shoe smell.

I had a dream that Andrew Grant posted his GLASS video, I never got to see it though. Also, I remember lamenting in the dream that Camille never frigging sent Andrew the tapes she said she'd send him.
Dammit camille!! We have a film making genius ACHING to edit footage of the tournament you and I made happen! Send him the tapes pleeeaase!

I am at my home in Oakville right now. I just took a bus from Kingston that sucked. well.. it only sucked because of the dude in front of me. He wasn't down with me lighting fires and punching his seat. What a baby.
Needless to say I didn't get very far into the bag I was making for Nate Pipenboogers before Beefcake VonAsshole was way fed up with me. It's gonna be a sweet bag when I finally finish it.
It's a little akward using fire when stitching in public, people get all scared and shit.

So I had this epiphany regarding pinholes in panels - the holes can be caused by pins. I was super way bummed to find a tiny little hole in my newest bag. I thought "HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE???? I *JUST* MADE IT!!!!" and then I noticed that the panel with the hole is right near the blind stitched edge and thus it is very likely that a wayward needle stroke plunged into the no-pin-zone in the middle of the panel and ruined my day. I guess it's my fault technically. I will be more carefull in the future.

I had a pretty good pants session today killing time waiting for my bus.
I hit... uhhh.. fucking nothing. I was close to pdx whirl>spinning pdx whirl, I felt like David Clavens. Man, david shreds so hard, he has a really intense style.
Dammit, Jorden stole all the good adjectives for shred. Speaking of which, Jorden has now made it quite clear he is fucking amazing.
It's so hard to quantify players, I keep wanting to say he is ranked so and so now but it's all so arbitrary since everyone does such different stuff.

OOh! I thought up a good reason why Vaseks one-sided shred is so stupid - BECAUSE HE IS GOOD ENOUGH TO USE BOTH SIDES. RAAHHHHHH I seriously can't watch blatantly one-sided shred anymore. It looks so gross and dumb. It makes the player look uncreative and boring and limited.

I don't mean to use Vasek as my example all the time, he is just the 'best' and thus most in the publics critical eye.
Why is he the 'best' when he doesn't use SOOOO many concepts? How can we so quickly claim him to be the best when there are so many ways in which others out play him? I suppose he is the best technical shredder and he can do some things no one else can... but um.. lots of fucking players can do stuff others can't.

All this thinking makes me want to get so fucking good at footbag. Every trick is eventual.

PS I hit symp whirl bsos in pants while thinking about how matt cross hit symp whirl bsos in pants.

Hey Tom i was thinking with Zooming Spinning Osis, you would just say Zooming Osis, because the spinning is implied in the Zooming part of the name (spinning from osis)
I agree its such an awesome feeling and looking concept! Ive only just started being able to do it a little bit with my improving osis, i feel like a mack when i do it

You have to realize that even though he doesn't throw down every concept in his average runs, he has schooled them and can bust out when necessary. He can do crazy consistent toe-shuffle if he wants, and we see him bust out the sole/pincher/rakey stuff when he wants. It's difficult to conceive just how both-sided he is, too. He can hit aaaaaaanything both sides, even if he doesn't necessarily do it in all his runs. Sure he's had some one-sided runs. He was probably intoxicated or just couldn't think of what to hit next.

And even those runs that you think look average and boring. Say, "Oh, it's just a whole bunch of torques and mobius strips and barroques and paradox torques." I mean, sure, but can you conceive just how hard that is and HOW CONSISTENT it is? His form on EVERY SINGLE MOVE is so stitched and flawless, ught it's just ridiculous.

i was going to comment on the who's the best thing, but i figure, who really cares? i mean really. who cares? i would much rather just go and play footbag .

okay, break time is over,
back to the editing room...

Aww I am jealouse of you guys, you get to have all the killing fun.

I wish I had graphic dreams of killing people. Well.. by that I mean I wish I had them when I was asleep, most of my days are haunted by thoughts of slaughtering all the fucking lemmings I see walking down the street deeply fake tanned and wearing their retarded Uggs boots.

I am the number 5 poster! It's funny to look at how long the other top posters have been on modifed for relative to me. I surely outpost everyone on modified, and if that isn't the case I will double NAY! quadruple my post frequency.

Here are some things that piss me off:
- every person that claims that all double downs are the same ---> get off your fucking arogant highhorse and use LOGIC to help clarify for you that they are ALL DIFFERENT TRICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! paradon does not equal barfly which does not equal double over down which does not equal down double down.

By the retarded logic that claims them all to be the same and not unique (the "logic" of course being that the set doesn't matter and they are all just double downs) one can claim that a paradon is the same as scorpions tail. I mean that makes "sense" right? they are both 'just double downs' after all.

Fuck, all the basic double down moves (paradon, barfly, DOD, DDD) are all COMPLETELY UNIQUE in their footwork and start/finish relations and in their feel and execution.

All of this also applies to butterflies, they are all unique.

It is this kind of arguing and bullshit that makes me never want to compete.

Having guidlines and formulas that dictate who is better than who forces people into lame predictable ruts.

I have seen too many processed shred30's that are blatant attempts at maximizing the output from the equation. I thought brett campbells shred30 at world's was the best executed piece of cheap bs Ive ever seen.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to convey here, Tom. The people who argue that the DOD's aren't worthy of the unique factor are those who agree with your second argument about preprocessed shred 30's. You have to realize that they aren't arguing that paradon is the same as barfly when you're just busting and that subsequently it's not impressive if you hit each of the double downs all bsos in a run. No, the point is that people who have that style of motion dialed will have an easier time cashing out in a shred 30 by throwing in 8 double downs. The same logic applies to butterflies. Your second argument does not coincide with your first. People like Jon Schneider are the ones who argue that they aren't -worthy of more points in shred 30 for doing a lot of them- (ie. aren't worthy of uniqueness) are those that are pushing people to vary their shred 30's. This makes sense, as right now all shred 30 consitutes is how well you can practice a drill that earns the most points by a somewhat related point scheme. Personally, if I see you hit a run with only double downs, I'm not going to scream at you for doing consecutives. Anyone who plays this sport understands that, I think.

Sorry for bringing the argument to your inner sanctum. :P

I just spent the last fistfull of hours editing the sick comp video, you fuckers better appreciate it.

I spent the weekend at my home home in Oakville, it was pleasant and rather uneventful.

I played some tennis today with my Dad, goddam I love CRUSHING the ball when I get the chance. I kept getting way bugged out by how one-sided tennis is. At some points I found myself trying out two handed forehands to make my strokes match eachother. It kinda worked... What *did* work was when I bounced the ball and then ducked it like a footbag. I landed a sweet diving bounce too.

OK, so my family is totally insane in so many ways.
Here is the most recent reason I feel this way, my parents told me they will be selling the blue PT Cruiser (yes, I have to specify which pt cruiser, we have a couple  ) and they are buying one of them sharp new mustangs. Well the insane part is that it is a red mustang, that means that we now have FOUR RED CARS. ooohh my goooooddd. I can't imagine what the neighbors think!

I shredded with Camille at the Eaton Centre today (downtown Toronto).
We got kicked out real fast by this security guard, I was shredding and we had this exchange:

Security Guard: Hey! you can't hacky sack in here!
Me: I'm not hacky sacking!

Hahaha
He then just basically told me and camille not to do whatever we were doing and leave.

We moved to a different part of the building and were quickly caught by another guard. As he walked up he said to me "Hey short shorts, no hacky sacking in the mall.", we started packing up our stuff as he walked away and I asked Camille "did he just calle me short shorts?", "Yup", "what a FUCKING LOSER!" (I shouted that last end bit so he could hear it real good.
He came walking back and said "Alright get out of here NOW!" in a tone that suggested that that wasn't precisely what he had just told us to do and that it was somehow more severe all the sudden.

He stood there stenly watching us pack our shit and I said to him "Don't shoot me!", "With my 'no gun'?" he replied ".. and your 'no power'?" I added. "Ive got the power to kick your ass out of here!" hahah what a twat.

I like giving shit to security guards because they were one of two things in highschool - bullies or dorkasses. Either way, they are now on a powertrip hell bent on killing fun. If they were bullies I lip off to them because it's finally a context where if they pound me they lose their job and bad stuff happens to them. If they were dorkasses.. well.. now they are just trying to get revenge on the jocks and shit and I am going to make fun of them out of spite and for ruining my day.

Anycase, we eventually found a pretty good spot in an underground parking lot and shredded there until I had to catch my bus back to Kingston.

In the cab ride from the bus terminal to my house I heard of the most crazy yearly event. Cabbies (I don't know if this extends beyond kingston) have a day each year called "Splosh Day" where they exact vengeance on their nemesii. This cabbie had a particular hate for these two obnoxious dudes in first year at my school that had engaged in a puking competition in the back of his cab and spent the rest of their time screaming obsceneties at girls. He told me that Splosh Day was two days ago and he got his bastards BAD! They were walking along in TUXEDOS (for a formal that night) and he totally soaked them with a huge puddle!! ahahahahh stupid fuckers!

I am so way sleepy. Night.

holy fuck.

My friend sandy just stopped by with her rockstar boyfriend.

If you remember the video I posted on February 6th it was by a band called Darkest Hour, they are one of my favourite bands.

Anyways, I just smoked some bowls with the lead singer. It's fucked, I don't even understand the wierd magnetism of his life to mine. He is from washington DC and my life somehow smashed into his last year. I remember back when I first found out about the band I was strangely compelled to learn more about the singer. I remember picturing myself screaming along with the band at a show and being all into it. It's strange that I befriended his girlfriend last year and got to meet him and all that. Anyways, that was interesting.

Haha, totally by fluke coincidence I happened to be wearing a shirt of his band today! oops!

I had an amaaazing day with Vida today! We went all around uptown walking around shopping. I love spending time with her. She makes me laugh and smile more than anyone I know. Like.. In my whole life I mean. She's the best human I know.

Vida (NOT ME IN ANY WAY) found a pair of amazing shoes at payless! Let me make this clear, Vida found them, not me. :P She said I was totally gonna take credit for them. I wish I could, they are so effing awesome. They are oldschool Airwalks with skulls on them and they are PERFECT for shred totally unmodded! they have this great big toe area and the clippers are flat and great. They don't have the cheater clipper dip that lavers have either.

I will take pictures ASAP.

In fact, I have several things to take pictures of. I just made the sickest hoody ever. Trust me, you guys can't wait to see what I have to show you!! :D

PS Vida and I have matching shoes now. :P
