How did Vasek find out about the G-Units ? From what I heard, he isn't involed in the internet community...

Read a few posts back.

The shoes Vasek was wearing were Ellis's, not Vaseks.

So presumably Ellis showed them to Vasek at Worlds and he tried them out.

I haven't heard a lot from others, but Vasek thought they were better than Lavers.

Nope. I only drilled one shoe, because it made no difference. I'm an avid believer in drilling Lavers, but it didn't yield the same benefit in the g6.

I checked the shoe in Montreal when we we're at worlds. Didn't try them on, but they're definately lighter than lavers and the surfaces are good. After checking Elis pair we went to a foot locker to see what it looks like unmodded. It was alot heavier with all the leather on the inside still on and looked like your going to need to do alot of cutting. The sole was very stiff in the models in the store, don't know how long it takes to drive them in, but they were alot stiffer than lavers. Can't remember how the sole was on Elis pair.

If you have enough money and you don't mind the cutting I recommend these.

And I haven't seen them in any shops in Finland, don't know about the rest of scandinavia.

wait.. after u mod them is..
1) the tongue soft flexible material??? you know so you can feel it when you toe stall?
2) the sides nice and soft.. so if i dropped a pen during class and it hit one of these areas it would hurt?

also when you mod them...
from left to right ok? (the shoes itself, pretend ur looking at the front of it and u have xray vision)

from left to right

leather...padding...canvas...innerlayer...then ur foot...then again but opposite????

Hey Ellis, do you have a more extensive review of these shoes now that you have been playing in them for some time? Or have you switched back to lavers?

Also, you have said that the removal of the leather is easier than lavers. Did you just take an exacto knife and start cutting? Or did you have a specific method to remove the outer layers?

And how does the inside and toe box physically feel? Do you have the same feel as you would with lavers with the canvas removed? I am not a huge fan of having just mesh on my lavers. My feet sweat (especially in the South Texas summer) and if I just have mesh my shoes get soaked. This in turn causes my bags to get wet. Would similar happen with the g6s?

i think we should email ellis cause he said modified is dowloading viruses so he doesnt check modified anymore..ill email him all the question un answered on this topic and post his response here... if u have question u should post them quick im gonna email him soon.. and i dont think he'll like it if 30 people email him about his shoes..haha... later

Yes, thin and soft. The toe is much more open (larger surface area) than the Laver, too, but you have to trim the wings a little- some of you might already do this to your Lavers.

You think I can explain this in 15 minutes? Yeah, right. I shot a video while I modded my last pair, so I'll edit it together eventually. It's pretty much the same as Leather Lavers, except the toe can be a little trickier. Just take your time, and make educated guesses- that's my method.

Still in the G-Units. Love them more every session. Make sure you don't get them too big, or they will feel too bulky. They should be snug on your foot (not too tight, but snug). Keep in mind, as with new Lavers, the soles take a little time to break-in. For me they played great new, so it shouldn't really matter, but if you're going from an old pair of Lavers to a new pair of G-Units, you can expect a difference in pliability.

I used a new razor blade, and it was as simple as that.

Yesterday I played in my new G-Units for the first time. I still have to get used to the toe box. It may still need some modding, cutting the wings etc.
The Clipper surface is great, I set an new alternating Clipper record

The big pro of this shoes is the greatly improved cushioning compared to the Lavers. They actually feel like real sport shoes

Despite I wouldn't want to wear them in public

I will post some photos soon.
