If you really wanted to you could generalize all music as being just noise, so saying that punks just screaming and yelling doesn't really mean much... I know what you mean about the rebelling aspect though, but the reason I don't like that aspect is because there are so many people around where I live, (probably everywhere) that just dress punk, and try and act like there rebels and all but don't really like punk or what it stands for at all. There just trying to fit in to a clique...

Labels are for cans, punk is a state of mind...not fashion or music. To call yourself "punk" is the first step to not being "punk" at all!!

So don't question.....you might just and up as lame as Good Charlotte

Good bands.....you decide if they are punk or not....these are mostly local toronto groups...but not all.

The Brinks of Madness
In Hopes of an Exit
In December
The 3tards
Rise Against(mainstream)
Career Suicide

If you can find a some of these bands cd's (the Brinks and In Hopes) good job.....i only have their cds from concerts....i can't even find them online. LIVE MUSIC IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!

hahaha i seen butch from 30footfall at the 7seconds show. scarymary squeeled and ran up to him asking if he remembers a show he [30footfall] played in like '93-94. that was the first time i had ever heard of em. we yapped and reminisced about the show way back then...all the 'old days'. we tried to remember all the bands that played that day...wow that seems so far away now. hes a bike messenger in downtown houston. i see him all the time. next time i see him (prolly at the bar) ill let him know there are some rockers in havelock, nc that listen to his tunes.

btw where in all hell is havelock?

Havelock is in between New Bern (the first capital of NC) and Morehead City. Havelock and MCAS Cherry Point are pretty much the same place. MCAS Cherry Point is the Largest Marine Corps Air Station on the east coast. Well, I'm not sure about the largest, but it's pretty damn important.

Fuck yeah!!! Let him know there's a couple people around here that listen to his shit all the time. My girl just got a new car with a six disc changer in it. I think 30footFALL was the third CD I put in the changer. Divided We Stand, Together We Fall is the CD (I may be wrong on the title). The first CD of their's that I listened to was.............I don't remember the title. That CD got scratched up sooooooo long ago. The only thing I can remember from it was "I gotcha mamma in a tank full of fish sticks." Those were the only two that I had. Kinda hard to get good music in Havelock. No record shops. Gotta go to Morehead to get CDs and you have to request good music.

Oooohhhh, the good days.
