Hey, remember that wall that I said I climbed down a few pages back?

I was walking around one night and then I said I climbed down some big ass wall

I said I put my hand on some ledge and thought that at that point I could die and blah blah blah. Here is that wall and window ledge and so on.
I came down from the top right area.

Image

I wanted to get a shot of me and the wall so I propped my camera up on the ground and then hit the ten second timer and scrambled up the wall and got this far:

Heheh, look at Hotdog at the bottom! 8)

I e-mailed the YMCA last night asking them if I can run a summer footbag class!

They got back to me today and said that the event director would contact me. This is awesome! Imagine I taught footbag all summer to make money for all my footbag ventures! :D 8)

Plleeeeease support us if you can and order a shirt and/or a hoody and maybe a 4-panel or two.

I have been stitching lots of 4-panels. I am taking orders if anyone wans one. I would be willing to make a combo deal of hoodie/4-panel if anyone is interested.

I heard from a pretty good source that soon there will be a few BSOS hoodies walking around the streets of Denmark. 8)

I will love you forever if you buy some of these things, I really really want to get to europe this summer and little ventures like these are going to get me there.

I have begun saving for this summer, all the money I make from making footbags and making hoodies and t-shirts and pins and all that are going into a piggy bank and I am going to save it all up!

If anyone buys a hoodie and a t-shirt I will make you a FREE 4-panel bag, how is THAT for a deal??

you'd probably feel really silly, just like tom and i did today when we showed up to play in matching red tshirts and faded blue jeans. oh the embarrassment. we did play a sick game of net though. sick in a good way.

Our matching was absurd. We both had lavers on too. Don't forget our matching banana seats!

The "net" game we played was awesome. We made a net by slinging some string between two tennis court poles using like 6 different little pieces of string all tied together and then tied to Jareds keys which were tied to the other pole.

Net is fun!

We played with Bubblegum, my Pipenbag, it was good break-in.
Bubblegum is coming along nicely, as is the bag I am making for Nate in return.

I am so jealous of how pretty Johnny's 32's look. He's so talented.

Vida made the "Tom" for me and I made the "Vida" to go with it. :)

Vida is so exciting!!! She plays footbag everyday and she just started stitching and she wants to get into making 32's. I love her eagerness about learning all these cool footbag things.

I am so inspired by Vida, she makes me get flooded with ideas and emotions and motivation.

AhhhH!!! I can't believe that any of this is real!! How can I be so lucky!??

I am SO so so very glad I met her. What a sweet surprise!!

Maybe one day she will believe me that I am not gay and fall in love with me. :P

You guys are so cute! :D

Oh, I have so many embarassing matching stories, too! Once I was waiting for the bus in, like, a brown shirt (or coat?) and my hat with the tassels and my shoulder bag, and there was another guy there with a bag just like mine and a tassel hat and a brown shirt, too! Silly!
Then one day I wore a really bright red tassel hat (a different one) and my brother wore a really bright red toque and we were waiting for the bus together.
And there's this guy in my painting class, kind of, who always wears the same brown v-neck shirt with blue-collared shirt underneath and a shoulder bag, and I'm always wearing the exact same thing, except the strap on my bag broke and I need a new one or something :( (Asian girls always ask me where I got my bag! Marita hates it.)

Tonight I performed footbag in front of a crowd.

It wasn't so scary, I find that I tend to perform under pressure, what luck!

It was filmed so hopefully I will be able to show you guys that.

All I did were butterflies and osii and far legovers BUT I did them on a kickass playing surface that made bleeps and bloops depending on where I landed and stuff. I have no idea if it sounded anything like music but the crowd seemed impressed.

I kinda just played until it seemed like a good time to stop and then said I was done and everyone clapped.
I was hoping to dramatically end on torque but I dropped. :(

It was a fun experience still. I got handshakes from lots of people, they seemed really impressed.

I hit pixie ss drifter today for my first time! I footed it three hundred times on the other side, no luck on the seal though.

I think alot of people misinterpret what I mean by being bothsided.

I don't mean hitting a trick and then also hitting it on your flipside, I mean just negating the whole flipside dilema altogether from day one.

If you focus and concentrate on doing things on both sides from the beginning it makes the entire issue a non-issue, both sides just learn all the shit together. Every concept is new to both sides at some point right?

I think anyone coming into footbag from a hacky sack background that has already formed a side dominance with their hacking may be more inclined to wind up with a more noticable dominant footbag side. Once one foot starts learning stuff before the other it will remain stronger unless lots of attention is paid to the weak one.

I know in my head which side feels easier for each trick and when I am shredding or drilling I make sure to use the weaker one alot more as it builds up confidence and muscle memory in them. I still hit the strong ones to remind me of how to do it right and then I emulate and adapt to fit it to the other side. I don't have different techniques for any tricks side to side but sometimes do think slightly different things for some reason.

I am so intrigued by the both sides topic. I really think that the human body is 100% capable of attaining general both sided motor skills, we are just able to get by doing all our daily tasks and so on with one side. We practice and drill that one side EVERY DAY. Think about this, lets call writing something drilling writing, that can be equated to drilling any footbag trick. Writing with your left hand is just like any other trick you havn't drilled. I cannot hit bigwalk because I have never drilled surging set before. (It actually took me a minute to think of something I knew I couldn't do :P ) So logically it would make sense that I can't write with my left hand because I havn't drilled it at all! Whereas I "drill" the right hand every day, no wonder I am better at it!

I bet if I started writing all the time with my left hand it could get pretty good in time, though the right hand does have years and years of practice so I have some catching up to do.

right hand left hand

Tom, you are completely and absolutely right about both sides. And there are plenty of people that are amidextrous...Including ME! and All ive done is drill drill drill. In highschool a lot of letters Id write to people in class Id do with my left hand, or Id just sit there writing the alphabet over and over, also weird sentences and simple pictures.

practise makes perfect (cant be said enough)
