My first double dex

Post by tuomoruutufan »

I dont know why i even thought of trying but after seeing my strong side pixe go past my waste and after learning weaksid leg over i decided what the fuck maybe i can do pixe legover. Try after try after try the i would either botch the pixie or the bag would land on my toe and my foot would hit the ground and it would roll off.

Now im like 40 lbs over weight and this basement is hot as hell so you can only imagine how hard i was sweating and how tired i was getting but it felt so close i couldnt walk away. Finally i hit it perfectly with a clean deep dex and i even set it to a butterfly afterwards and then just caught the bag and wipped at the wall with excitment :D .

I really never even thought i could ever be quick enough for a double dex. on a similar note i also never thought i would be quick enough to hit parkwalk and that happened the other night with tim werner and riele from CIC.

I have never felt so much reward from any other sport the way it feels in footbag. The only comparison is scoring a goal in hockey.

i though learning paradon was easy, jump into the dex almost at the same time that you set it, but think of the first dex as an illusion, and then just prop down. Hope it helps

hmm... Dimwalk is a pixie uptime to a op butterfly , there is a plant inbetween the (2) dex's, unlike drifter there is no plant inbetween its (1) dex.

If you did a same toe drifter, (maybe thats what your thinking), it would kind of look like a downtime pixie clipper , but there is no "butterfly" dex in drifter.

dadacurve, set from same toe, kind of looks like a downtime dimwalk but thats dadacurve and not drifter.

I dunno i suck at explaining , any help?

Joe, you didn't do a bad job. I tried to respond to Juker's post last night, but after a couple of rewrites that didn't make any sense I gave up. Footbag can really only be understood through video (or in person, of course).

I think the best way to explain a trick is to give them a good link to a good video. I know I get what I don't understand alot quicker when I just watch a video.

You said "I never thought I'd be quick enough for a double dex"...

Just wait'll you say "I never thought I'd be quick enough for a quadruple dex"

Practice makes perfect, and actually, dexes feel slower the more you drill them.

A double dex trick is a trick, where are two dexes between two stalls. Easy double dexes are pixie legover (PLO), dimwalk, smear, parkwalk and I've heard that double around the world (DATW) is also quite easy. (I haven't hit it  ...yet.)

EDIT:
qphox wrote:Datw, I found, took me a lot longer to hit than smear or dimwalk. Datw is toward the harder of the double dex tricks, but still fairly easy. Mind ya, datw out is harder than in (for me that is). Datw is almost two full dexes (according to xdex), and with the same leg, this is where the difficulty comes from I think...

I think its the same difficulty as atom smasher. (just my opinion)
Well yeah, I've hit those others but just like you said, two almost complete dexes with same foot has so far been too hard for me.
BTW, do you plant when you're doing _normal_ atw? I can hit it though, just asking.
