Because they are the same.

The privious trick ends when the bag is set for the pixie that trick then continues until the bag makes contact with the foot and is set again into play for the next trick.

The pendulum ends when the bag leaves the foot and the next trick starts.

Same thing. We just don't see it that way because you're trying to convince me that I could wrap any inside stall to a clipper at my leisure and set the bag and gather an extra add. It just doesn't work that way.

Let me get in on this.

Eclipse cannot be compared with this because it is unique in a different way.
It is over when you land.

Walk over is over after you step over. 2 adds, one from the step and one from the delay.

Hop over is over after you've done the hop.

Your eclipse analogy does nothing.

And also what footbag.org says isn't set in stone and could possibly be incorrect.

And I believe I made it clear earlier that it was the opposite of add hunting.
that when the pendulum is made a set it actually reduces the adds.

xbody pendulum > pdx mirage = 3>3
pedulum pdx mirage = 4

6 adds for your separate version and 4 adds when made a set.... that's some bad add hunting there.

The pendulum isn't an ending. I've already made the explanation on an earlier post.

Duh. You didn't link it. That's about as valid as saying osis->whirl gets more adds than whirl.

As a set
xdbpenduluym > pdx mirage -> 4 adds, IF you believe it's a set.

as an ending.
pdxmirage->xbdpendulum - > 5 adds. IF you believe it's an ending.

that doesn't make any sense. What I said using you version would be more like osis > whirl gets more adds than osising whirl.

What are you trying to say anyway?

Yes pedulum set pdx mirage is 4 adds.... nice, sweet. pendulum isn't an ending in my arguement.

I've already stated my whole arguement in the rest of my posts. Give those a read then tell me clearly why you don't agree.

I'm saying that pendulum is a fluid motion of bringing the footbag out of the air, and continuing with a smooth continous motion which releases the footbag behind the player, and which launches the footbag over the shoulder of the player. In short, pendulum doesn't really start with a toe stall, it's an old school goofy trick, and part of the trick is bringing the bag out of the air and releasing it behind you in one smooth motion.

Eclipse doesn't start with an inside stall, rake doesn't start with a toe stall delayed behind the body, and pendulum doesn't start with a toe stall. These tricks are special motions that are done fluidly to catch the bag out of the air and release it elsewhere.

As such, these motions can end tricks, but they are not sets.

That's what I'm saying.

I definately agree with Tsiangkun on this one.

JoshMan: I don't know if you understand what does 'addhunting' mean. It's all about hitting high add tricks. Addhunter want to hit 7add trick, not a combo with the sum of adds = 8 adds.

I pointed out that

xbody pendulum > pdx mirage is more adds than pendulum pdx mirage

because they're the same exact movements, there is nothing different between them except considering the pendulum is a separate move in the first one. I said... for the same exact movement considering the pendulum a separate move gives 6 adds, but if considered one move it gives 4 adds.

The link isn't an issue... it's just that one way you get more adds for the same movement.

Ok. But what is the reason to bring adds to this discussion? I don't tink it can lead to anything.

For me it's just simple that pendulum ends when the bag leaves the foot, and it can't be a set. So you can do Pendulum > DLO, but can't do Pendulum DLO. And you can do Pendulum as a end of a trick, same as you can do rake, but you can't do Rake as a set, so 'rakeing pixie' does not exist. I never thought that this can be a thing to debate. It's just so obvious.

That's a really nice explanation, but it's incorrect for reasons I've explained elsewhere in this thread. This idea has been the source of a lot of confusion in this thread.

You're describing pendulum > toe stall.

Pendulum ends when the bag leaves the foot.

A) True, pendulum can not be a set. The reason you think it can is because you are seriously mistaken about what the trick pendulum IS.

B) A pendulum can finish a move, because it IS possible to snag the bag out of the air and do the pendulum. All tricks present this opportunity.

C) A Pendulum is not two adds no matter what. This mysterious start from toe stall pendulum you speak of as a set is "THE" and is worth exactly zero adds.
If so then let speak up, let me trace your logic to its ridiculous conclusions, and make fun of you.

Go ahead, perhaps you can post more incorrect trick descriptions and misunderstanding as fact as you make fun of me.

If the pendulum aint a set, well what do you call something that launches a footbag into the air, and isn't worth a dime of adds until sealed with the end delay?

Pendulum is worth two adds the instant the bag leaves the foot, it's not a set, it's a trick that ends behind you and sets the next trick from there. It does not end on a toe stall. Pendulum is a fluid motion of bringing the footbag out of the air, and continuing with a smooth continous motion which releases the footbag behind the player, and which launches the footbag over the shoulder of the player. In short, pendulum doesn't really start with a toe stall, it's an old school goofy trick, and part of the trick is bringing the bag out of the air and releasing it behind you in one smooth motion. Pendulum most definately does not end with a toe stall.

You can definately begin a pendulum from a toe stall dude. Who says I can't hold my toe stall far in front of me? It's still a toe stall. And everything I do between two toe stalls adds to my trick. Toe stall > (pendulum swing and mirage out in front) > Toe stall. I've done 2 adds worth of stuff in between the toe stalls. The final toe stall makes it a 3-add move.

Listen all of your eclipse and walkover analogies are horseshit. Of course the trick ends after the eclipse because you've brought the damn bag to a basic clipper stall. When you wrap, you bring the bag to a clipper stall so it's over.

When you rake, you bring the bag to a toe stall so its over.

WHEN YOU PENDULUM, YOU BRING THE BAG ---FROM--- A TOE STALL TO AN IMPOSSIBLE-TO-STALL UPTIME RISING POSITION BEHIND UR BODY. ITS A SET!!!! TRICKS ONLY END IN BASIC STALL POSITIONS. THEY DO NOT EVER END FROM A PLACE THAT YOU CANNOT HOLD A STALL.

At most I think get one add for hitting pendulum starting from a delayed toe stall. You would be better off saying I think it's cool and I do it as a zero add embellishment. It is most certainly not a set, pendulum ends when the bag leaves the foot.

Toe stall > (pendulum swing and mirage out in front) > Toe stall

Looks like a one add trick to a zero add trick to a two adds trick to me.

You know what, nevermind all that because it obviously wont get through to you. I've found a way to PROVE my point.

Let's say from a toe stall, you set the bag not just up but a couple feet ahead of you as well. Then you do a big dramatic pendulum-mimicking motion with the other leg to catch it... but you STOP right at the toe stall position and don't follow through with the swing!

So you've just done toe> op toe.

Who cares if you had to do a big fancy swing before getting to the toe stall position? That doesn't make it contribute shit to the previous move. Now what if you actually follow through with the pendulum? Well, you've already "passed" the basic toe stall position, so the previous move IS OVER. Just like if you were to pause it there.

That is exactly why the adds of the pendulum should contribute to the next move as a set. You start from a toe catch and set it! WHO CARES IF THE INITIAL TOE CATCH HAD TO BE FANCY! You still just caught a toe stall with some fanciness, and then YOU SET IT!
