Yes, I was quite depressed when I was injured. It is a tough thing to have to deal with, but it sounds like you will be back before you know it. I would reccomend staying away from those ps whirls for a while. At least until your knees have fully recovered and are stronger than before. There are a lot of moves to work on besides things that tend to hurt you. Working out will definitely help, as will stretching and knowing what moves are not too smart to try all the time.
I wish you a lot of luck!

Thanks, James.
I got a gym membership today. My knee's feeling a lot better, but still giving me a little pain. I'm off the ibuprofen and resting it still. I hope to be shredding gently by next week, and will probably take it easy until I feel there's been a significant improvement in my strength/coordination/flexibility/endurance.

I'm in such a good summery mood right now.
I was talking with Kyle on the phone on my way to South, and he was talking about getting some new Lavers and insoles once finals are over and school like no other this summer. He said he was really glad to hear that I was taking some time off to rest my knee, and that taking the time to really condition your body to make it last is what sets the serious freestylers apart. Then we talked about how awesome Lavers are and how unnecessary all this upstart business about finding a better shoe for freestyle is. After Goonit-ing it up for a while, I realize Lavers really outclass all those other alternative shoes. The material is thinner, the sole is more flexible, and the shoe overall is OH MY GOD lighter. The whole no-support issue is kind of a joke. Shin splints should not be an issue if your legs are strong enough that your muscles take the brunt of the force rather than your bones, and if you use proper form.
Then I went to South, and Hosea had to teach me how to march in like 5 minutes so I could audition, and then I did and I played everything perfect, so I'll probably be doing marching band this summer.
This is good, I can daydream about it now. Go rehearse every day until 3:30, then go across the street and meet up with Kyle or whoever and shred. M'mmmm. I'll probably actually need to power-nap after a rehearsal that long or else I'll be too tired to shred, but whatever. It'll still be awesome.

My knee hasn't hurt since yesterday morning. I tried to test it out a little bit. At school I hit swirl in flip-flops which was cool, and I hit 6 consec. PLO's in my bedroom, but it's still kinda tender, I'm not totally confident in it.

A couple days ago, I received the greatest birthday present EVAR.
My knee appears to be healed. I'm not going to say completely, but apparently enough to play footbag without pain!
Yesterday I went to Wash Park and kicked with Kyle and his friend from Chicago (unfortunately I can't remember his name, now. It started with a B. Cool guy, reminded me of Nate).
It definitely wasn't too bad for a first serious session in 3-ish months. My crank was definitely off to start out, but I got it under control. For some odd reason, my spinning is way better than it used to be, on both sides. I'm spinning a lot faster now, to the point where I think I may need contacts! My glasses are sliding all over the place. My flip drifters are a little off now, but I'm working on them, but my double downs are rocking. My flip dd's are rapidly catching up with my strong side.
So anyway,
-broke my unique tripless record!
dimwalk>ripwalk>blur>paradon>spinning osis>paradox whirl, sealed to a short lil' run.
-phoenix a few times, felt really easy.
-blurriest first try
-almost flip pdx whirl
-footed pdx torque!
-first time flip torque! (O.R.)
-spinning osis>barfly! (almost bs)
-eggbeater for the first time, like second try (I'd hit bubbabeater before, but never an actual eggbeater!)
-rip>blizz>dim first try
-stepping ducking set 2nd or 3rd try - missed the butterfly (i think, drilling this a little, stepping ducking may have the potential to be a consistent concept. ripped warrior midstring, maybe?)
That's all I can remember at the moment. Man, footbag rocks! My knee is feeling alright, too! I'm still playing it safe and taking it easy when I'm not playing, and ice/ibuprofen after I'm done. I need to start working on shin splints again, too, before they get bad.
That's all from this end. Happy Birthday to me. Getting my driving permit today!

Thanks dudes.
I played some, yesterday. Hit some stuff. Nothing extravagant as far as I remember, just some good links. Some bsos barflies, bsos spinning osii, spinning osis>barfly midstring... I don't know. Stuff.
I realized we still had my friend's digital camera here that we borrowed a while ago, so I did some whoring for you all. Enjoy.

You know.

My crank sucks.

Before I got in the shower.

Afterwards. That shirt is really cool. It's the cover of Endtroducing....

My footbag.

My shoes.

The back of my cell phone nowadays.
I also plastered my Nalgene bottle in awesome footbag stickers the other day:

Think I'm answering my phone, there.

And eating ice cream.

And my face.
Enjoy.

Current Music: Pantera - The Art of Shredding
Unity is a rare thing
Blind eyes of society bring
The category of minority
Now what are we supposed to be?
Born free to be
Powerless to change the world
With our lives in the hands of madmen
Now in times when society needs us
This is where the sin begins
We’re aware they’re going to free us
Rage from our hearts within
Born of this world
Which is a living hell
But we’ll be closer to heaven
So now, this is the art
To shred... it’s only emotion
Haha. Not much has changed since the previous entry. I'm meeting up with Kaplan tomorrow, and I think Yaussi will come, too.

I like the ice cream eating pic, Stephen. It's great to hear that you're playing again! I know you've been missing it.

Welcome back man!! I was wondering where you disappeared too...I had no idea an injury was involved, but what better time to here about it than after its healed. Keep up the good work man, and make sure you got some good joint supplements so you'll never have that problem again

I just texted Josh asking, "Was it Tu or Tuan that we hung out with at CSS?" (because I always mix them up), and he replied, "That was Ken Somolinos." I laughed.
Leaving for San Fran in a few minutes.
