When i was on the train into town, i already knew, that this shred
wont beat thursdays' madness, at least not in my own world .

Since i was hanging out with my best friend and my dad, eating
and drinkin loads during the day, i wasnt in my best "athletical"
shape, but full of beer and fried chicken

No matter what the reasons were, i couldnt play for shit,
but that came with the territory, so to speak, so i wasnt
mad at all, and i try to get the best out of the sesh.
My runs were what i'd call sub par aka mediocre, mostly
2 adds, accompanied by some very predictible 3's, 10
contacts long, if i was lucky :?
I wasnt up for leaving, and when everybody went home
around ten, i regained my fanatism and these are the results :

ducking clipper>pdx mirage, both sides

plo> butterfly, both sides

ducking clip>pdx mir>plo

and another fucking milestone : plo>plo>plo :D

And, just that you know, you Hunters, i've hit magellan
on my flip finally ; but since i missed the handcatch, it
dont feel legit, so i clear that up tomorrow at da gym

Just on the side : i think i got them plo's locked down and Ms Hunter
seriously played excellent footbag tonite, you know long, controlled
runs, fat links and super fresh pixie combos !
thats the way forward, its nice to see you blossoming Bea !
The only minus about you, is that you never post in here

See ya tomorrow ( dlo day ! )

Woah sounds good folks. Props on the triple PLO Daryl!! I'm gonna try
that today!

I'll be a little late, because of my doctor's appointment, but I hope to shred
hard again!

Yesterday I some good cross-training - Grabbed my bike and rode all
the way from Allach to the Starnberger See and back - all along the river
Wuerm. It was great, it's such a nice route, and I did 55km's, which took
me about 3 1/2 hours (including a long Weißbier break at the Starnberger
See :) ).

Monday Gym Session.

Players:
Max
Daryl
Bea
Angrod
Achatz (sp?), a friend of Philipp "Angrod"

My last session for a while. Finally had my doctor's appointment before
the session and got a bandage for my knee (which worked wonders,
I didn't feel anything afterwards), and physio-therapy for my calf, which
I will really do this time ;)

Where to begin. The session for me was epic - it was the first time I
felt how both-sidedness feels. I overcame two arch enemies on my flip:
Pixie and DLO. Here's what I hit:

(strong) Pixie Legover>Pixie Legover>Pixie Legover>Pixie Legover
I was going for two, and since I've never done a flip pixie out of another
move, I was soo stoked to hit 4 alternating Pixies in a row!
Flipside Double Legover (4x) - I have hit this once in a session where I
tried it about 60 times. This time I got the hang of it and hit it 4 times to
make sure I have it. Yes! Now the only thing that I haven't/can't hit
properly on my flip are Illusions  , eggbeaters and Torques.
2x 14+ alternating Osii A bit shaky at times, but I'm getting the
hang of it there, too. Gets you in a nice rythm.
Dimwalk>Ducking Butterfly>Ripwalk>Pdx Mirage>Hand Catch -
My second sick 3 which I tried half a year ago and never sealed it - this
time I hit it second try. Go Tripless!
Diving Osis bsos - Don't know if I hit that before, but I haven't
hit it on my flip definately, nor bsos yet. Nice move.

I hit 7+10 infinities (seperated with a toe bail). Infinites are coming along too.

Oh yeah, and I started out with a new drill - ss osis>ss legover rpt - hit
it 6 times and went into a nice tiltless run afterwards, with a total of about
20 contacts. Had another 17 contact run with 1 toe, including a couple
of duckings, smear>pixie ss mirage, dlo and some other stuff.

Angrod hit his first legovers, on both sides! He surprised us all, because
it didn't take long for him to hit his first ever combo: legover>legover!
Yeah, progress is on the way.

Uh oh, my post are slowly reaching Daryl's dimensions - I pass the mic

Wow Bjoern, biking for 55km and then shredding the same day? That's superhuman endurance right there! I wouldn't even be able to bike that far, let alone shred for one week afterwards because my legs would be so sore from trying

Also, way to go on the new achievements!! This is one of my favorite blogs to read because progression is so evident!

Would it be asking too much to see a video?

Hardcore Drillin'

Yesterday i worked hard on my plo's, and it was the first time
i tried( and succeeded ) to hit the combo from strong to flip.
Since i wasnt sure what the best "starting side" for me was,
i tried plo>plo>plo from both sides countless times ;
i've hit it from my strong first, but what really mattered was
the intese pixie practice i had, chasing the combo .

That payed of today and i hit a new move first try, straight after
warm up kicking : pixie ss clipper ; later i hit it on my flip too...

smear>plo bs

smear>plo>butterfly

plo>smear>plo(>mirage)

( flip)smear>diving mirage : them flip smears r getting dere slowly... :D

smear>ducking mirage

5 contacts of butter>pdx mirage ; 4 times happened alot

butter>pdx mir>butter>pdx illusion :) ...took ages...

flipside MAGELLAN : first try that session, and it was clean
and controlled and properly effortless ! Yippieee

flipside PIXIE CLIPPER : finally .

30+ mirages

14 clippers each side

8 contacts of illusion> ss mirage rpt

kool, finally i narrowed the 3adds, that i havent hit flip, down
to 3 moves :
whirl, smudge and pixie ducking toe... but that aint so bad, since
i'm not doing these often anyway, and thus even my strong side
is pretty weak with those, wheras i use magellan and pixie same clip
fairly often, so of course it should be there on both sides...bla bla

I didnt do any runs and i try not to shred till thursday at least to
give my overworked legs some rest !
In a coupla months i willl be able to shuffle ; the plo>smear>plo combo
was one of the most unique and most heartstopping sensation
i ve ever experienced in playing footbag . adiction.
Btw, thanks Michal

schluss.

Thanks Byrin! Although I did the biking on sunday and shredded on
monday. I couldn't shred for shit on sunday evening :) And I couldn't
shred at all due to my calf problems, if it weren't for the nice shock
absorbing floor in the gym where we shred every monday..

Outside session in a stadium.
Players: Max, Daryl, me.

Today was a short but supersweet session. Normally I shouldn't be
playing, because any surface other than the gym floor makes my
legs weep, but after watching Jorden's 7th video, I was super inspired.
Also,I didn't feel my calf today, so I could shred:

Without really warming up, we immediately started the session, because
we had like 15 minutes of sun left:

Almost every run over 15 contacts (this kind of consistency is superrare
for me)
17 contact tiltless - I think it's my record. I've had longer runs
before, but all of them had 1 or more toe bails.
clip>DLO>Butterfly>Pdx Mirage>Legover >Eggbeater>Butterfly>Ducking Clipper>Ripwalk>Pdx Mirage Almost
guiltless, damn legover.
Fear My first ever fairy move, on the first 10 tries I ever tried
fairy! And it was a clean set as well! Now there's 2 fairy fuckers in the
team (looking at you, Mike)
Almost Weaving Mirage>Reverse Whirl bsos (dropped on the flip rev whirl)
Pixie muted clipper>Far legover>rpt (x5) - nice rewind combo,
and the first time I tried it.

I really felt more controlled today than ever before. Now I just have to
get my flip pixie set really dialed and I'm happy :) My butterflies felt
ver Jordenesque today, sounds weird, but I had so much control over
them today, it was easier than ever.

Well, my runs that last outdoor session were a bit shaky, it was
either 3 contacts or 14; i guess, i should start to drill pixie shuffle
properly, instead of sorta expecting shit just to happen...

But i hit my first flip 4 add that day, dimwalk, yaaawn, way
over due and another funky four add, that i havent hit/tried b4 :
pixie xbd rake 8)

Im still not sure if i play on sunday, but i really wann mod and
test ma nu g units, but there is also role play, sleeping in,
cooking and other things...

Anyway, the next session, i dont wanna drill 2 much,
i wanna go for long, effortless runs and i will spend
a lot of time practicing the next level fundamentals :
spinning clipper,dlo, whirl, (rev)swirl.

Today, i was completly destroyed after insan triple shifts
( see former posts ) but nevertheless i hit some xbd rakes
and a coupla osii 8O on both sides .

Mike, where's the news flash ?
Max, how are the g units when modded ? your short message
made a brother damm curious !

I only kicked in them once for about 5 minutes and one can definitely get used to them! Modding was so easy and only took about 15 minutes. Bjoerns tools were quite helpfull, but any small scissors should do fine. I wanted to take pictures but no cam was available. Anyhow I played in my Lavers yesterday at the Longboard event. Let me know about playing today.

Things I want to remeber from last session:
11 x pixie legover
Drifter > Pdx Whirl bs :)

Short session with Max.

New moves:
Muted Fairy ss Osis
Fairy Butterfly
Pixie Legover>Pixie Clipper (both sides first try)

My shins started to hurt after an hour.

Max played with the G-Units and hit Whirl>Ripwalk on command, first
try, and bsos! Also Tapping DLO and other nice combos.

Whirl>Ripwalk was fun :) And something for the archives:
34 Alternating clippers
I'm going to play exclusively in the g's tonight. I want to have that alternative to Lavers when they fall apart some day.

Monday Gym Session.

Players: Bea, Max, Daryl, a new one whose name I forgot and me.

I was the first to arrive at the gym, and my shins and my calf started
to hurt during warm-up already. Therefor I reduced the session to drilling
osii, which went not too bad. I tried a new drill:
6-7x ss osis>far osis>rpt
and
6-7x ss osis>ss legover>rpt

The most remarkable thing however was another 5-add:
Pixie Weaving Butterfly (ss Phoenix)
I went for zulu phoenix, too, but didn't even came close.

After drilling osii mainly, we all went for some runs, and while everybody
around me was literally exploding (Bea hitting Dimwalk>Shmoe midrun etc,
I won't give any of Max or Daryls achievements away, let them speak up),
I hardly had any control today. I played like shit, and left the session early
(Normally I'm the last one to end the gym session).
My legs hurt.

The new guy was Fabian from Dachau. And the session was totally sick, at least it, seems to me so now :) There was just so much Footbag energy in that gym, maybe someone knows what I'm talking about. Even if I wasn't "the last man standing" (Bea and Daryl were), sitting there, talking and watching them playing was such a nice balance to the 8 hours of lessons I had to experience before. Anyway, the shred also was insane today. (Damn I have such a great feeling about that session all together even now 2 1/2 hours later.)
Bjoern hit his next 5 Add, unfortunately nobody really saw it. And his Osis improved a lot! No need to talk about the duckings.
Daryl hit Stepping Legover on both sides, and tons of pixie moves during his runs. He also did some clean Stepping > Handcatch drills. I think he could hit Ripwalk with in the next week. Although his flip Butter may have to improve slightly for that move.
Bea was on fire again, doing long runs with nice links (Dimwalk > Infinitie, Dimwalk > Stepping Legover, Butterfly > Butterfly, SS Butterflies) right now she has a really good control of all her moves. She and Daryl played like mad until we were almost the very last people in the gym.
All that stepping achievements came from the Stepping training unit we three did that session, correcting each other and giving tips, wich was quite helpful. Even for me :P
There are so many things I want to remember, so I just write them down one after the other.
30 Infinities finally! I should push them even more since it is such a essential move.
Osis > Osis 18x Those G-units are Clipper friendly shoes :)
Whirl > Osis > Whirl > Osis
One run with 18 contacts and nobody can remember any 2 adds :)
Then: Dimwalk > Blur > Legbeater > Pdx Mirage > Whirl > Pdx Whirl > Osis > .... > Ripwalk > (Drop?) That run felt amazing :) Despite I cannot remember all tricks, I call it my best run yet. Ok that's enough for now.

On the session :

Yep, it was wicked sweet once again. For me it was some kind of premier :
not following my usual schedule, which essentially means, drilling my
ass of doing consecutives, bla>bla rpt, and flipside crusades .

I came to the gym with the idea to put my main emphasis on hitting
difficult, new combos of "dialed" 3 adds and on finally working on
some important core/concept things ( stepping, dlo, whirls ).

I was unusually late, i limited the warm up to clippers,
mir> ss mir rpt and a whole ton of ss clip>mirage rpt ;

Bea and me went for a hardcore pixie/toe dexing frenzy
and i had a lot of runs with 3 different pixie moves, using both
toes :D :
plo bsos and pixie same clip, smear bsos and paste and so on

Later i hit some new stuff : pixie ss mirage both sides and smear in the
same run, and a new link : pixie ss mir>plo .

Today was also the first day to try stepping and due to all the
basic drilling and Max's excellent instructions, i had a nice time and
hit stepping legover on my "good" side after 10 tries.
When i finally nailed it, it felt easier than a toe stall and it made
me realize that timing is everything ;
On my flipside it took me only two tries and it felt even more controlled
8O afterwards i was so happy that i tried and hit shmoe on both sides,
because i thought, after the difficulties i had with my strong, that flip
stepping will take oodles of time to work :D

My runs were a little over zealous and rushed, but i had a few, that were
quite decent ; gotta work on my string lenght once again...
Still, the number of 3's increases, since my drills beginn to shift
from consecutive 2 adds to combinations of "harder" basics
and towards 3>3(>3) combos .

Dlos are getting more and more possible, same goes 4 alt ducking
clippers ; my whirls a still rarely clean i.e. there, and i will work on
stepping first to get a controlled strong clipper set, b4 i work on
those properly. I'm also close to spinning clipper...maby 2morro

Another new link at the very end of our shred : diving mir>ducking mir 8)

Parkwalks are so fun and i love doubles, i wont say no more...

Folks, don't forget: Deadline for footjam registration is on May 1st, in less
than one week! Go register, if you haven't already, and someone tell Bea!
