Okay, okay...

Well, it started off not so perfect. I picked Brad up from Iowa City on the way down. We got there around 1:30 or 2:00. I went knock on James' door, but no one was home. Brad and I warmed up for about 45 minutes until I saw James's gf arrive. Apparently, James's hours got changed and so he had to work until 7pm. We went inside, I fixed James's computer, we read Zeke's post and hung out and watched footbag videos until Bijan, Tom, Tim, and Zeke arrived around 4:30.

We played hack with a tennis ball we found outside of James's place and were actually doing quite well. We got quite a few full hacks which I'm sure Lon would appreciate. After that, we decided to get a bite to eat at Checker's, and I ran to go get some bagels for myself. At Checker's, there was a dead guy at the table next to us. We decided that he wasn't really dead, he was just really depressed since he knew his life would all be downhill from his glorious meal at Checker's. But there was nothing he could do about it, after all, "you gotta eat"! When we finished eating, we played some 6-square in this lane they had for the cars to drive through. The rectangles were huge which made the game quite interesting. We got a number of shouts from cars driving by -- I guess they dug the 6-square.

Anyways, we decided to go visit James in the electronic section. Unfortunately, I went the wrong direction on the road I was supposed to turn on. On the plus side, Tim found this really cool "Chris CD" on the ground while we were at a stoplight; it had some phat beats on it. We decided to check into the hotel. We eventually found the room despite them trying to hide it from us with their odd numbering scheme. We watched some Wheel of Fortune until it was time to meet James. "Wooo!" WoF was quite amusing.

Finally, we get there and James arrives. He brings his friend Eric who is just starting to play. Uhmm... we kick until about 1 or so. It was fun and a little dark. James's game is getting much more solid. Plus, he was hitting symp eggbeaters and its variations all over the place. Tim and Tom decided they need new shoes due to the huge holes near their toes. Tom hit toe reverse swirling toe which I had never seen before.

After kicking, we head back to the hotel. Bijan decides to pass out while the rest of us go exploring. We head over to Hardee's (Carl's Jr.) for a bite to eat. We then headed into the main area of the hotel with the pools. mini-golf, and arcade. We saw some awesome donuts that Reile should have gotten for us in the vending machine, but managed to see no man ass. Next stop, one of the conference rooms. I probably fell asleep around 4:00. I'm not sure what the other guys did, but I know Tom and Zeke went down to swim and chill in the hot tub around 9:00 in the morning. James calls at about 10:00 wanting to kick down by the beach. Eventually, we are all set and out of the room by noon. We head down to the beach and kick.

Everyone was pretty tired, but the weather was nice and so was the location. James called in and said he'd be late for work. I think James was playing the best out of everyone. One nice link that I remember was ripped warrior > ps eggbeater. Reversius was looking pretty easy for him as well.

We all took off around 2:30 or so and made the trek back home. We decided we'd have to do this more often since it is only 2 hours from my place and 2.5 hours from Chicago.

Now that I'm back from Veags I need to post.

This Jam was so fun. Thanks Mike and James! It was a pleasant surprise to see Brad there; I didn't know he was coming.

Mike, your post was golden. You pretty much said it all. I love the inside jokes worked in everywhere, absolutely golden.

I think we were all a bit tired after all that driving, but we still kicked for hours that night, then foursquare, then more freestyle. James' wonton set is awesome. I seriously could not see it because it was so fast. I need a faster frame rate for my eyes. And reversius - what!

Now to my favorite part of jams...the after party hanging out. I decided I was hungry enough to eat my own arm after hours upon hours of footbag, and I asked if anyone else was hungry as well. I was baffled by Bijan and Mike saying "no." No??? Tim? "No" , Zeke? Thank the lord!

Hardees was great! I wish we had them in Chicago. The meat actually extends beyond the bun.

Travelling the hotel was great! No man ass, though. Chatting it up was great, especially Mike's stories of College days and chemistry bombs. Tim and I talked forever after everyone went to sleep. I love those times.

The next day we kicked next to the Mississippi river. It was awesome! Great scenery. Hopefully some footage.

We should do this more often. Only 2.5 hours away. We can come and go in the same day.

Random mkII

There was an akward situation while we were hanging out in front of James' house when I waved to some kid passing on his bike. And for some reason or another the wave, uh... didn't come out right. Mike happened to catch the gesture and asked if I just did a sig heil. "NO! It was a Zeke heil..."

Then back at the hotel, someone noticed a swastika carved on our room door. It really creeped me out.
