Moves only count if hit in either Rod LAvers the China model from Adidas OR in any shoe made by Vans.
If you are balded then OF COURSE it doesn't count if you do a duck!
And if you weigh under 70 kilos, Symposium-moves doesn't count either, and if your legs are really skinny, you don't really dex...
footbag is such a laid back sport i cant believe people actually care if a move was hit barefoot or not. Yea it's good to point out but to think that a move that was hit barefoot is somehow not as epic as a shoed move is silly.
I vote yes, it does count. If I hit something sandals it'll count, right? So why do you have to be wearing tennis shoes for it to count? I think it should count more barefoot. The only advantages of being barefoot are easier toe stalls and quicker feet. I think the first mods people do to their shoes are to make the toe box bigger (easier toe stalls) and remove the inside canvas (better feel and lighter?). The reason most of us wear the shoe we do is because they're light. There are more cons to playin barefoot than with shoes on, so barefoot should count more. Wearing shoes is pretty much cheating if you really think about it.

haha, not the way i do it. i dont have lavers (i wear 'polos') and they arent modded. most people would say im stupid for doing that, but i think my shoes are pretty much as good as lavers, even unmodded. but there are still serious disadvantages to shredding barefoot, so i definitely think it should count. (my barefoot clipper doesnt exist...for example...and anything done from a toe set might be slightly easier, but i have a larger toe area on my shoes, of course, and that helps)
why dont we do a BAREFOOT SICK 3 , it would be really nice, and anybody remember a vid of Vasek hitting clippers and osis barefoot, it was really nice..
so how about it???? BAREFOOTED SICK 3!!
come on everybody let's see you barefoot tricks!!!!!!
no white socks allowed!!!! absolutely no white socks!!!!
i think hitting a multi-dex trick barefoot is 'ok', but not as impressive as hitting it in shoes. i could hit some crazy moves with moon gravity conditions, but doesn't mean it was as difficult as hitting it on earth.
EDIT: i think clippers are tougher without shoes. and dexes are tougher with shoes.
It was to end a pretty good string that had bsos clipper tricks and stuff in it. I was really stoked on the end trick though, mos def harder than with shoes on!
Of course it counts. I don't really understand how it wouldn't count. Obviously some moves are easier barefoot and some are harder. I also find it a lot different hitting toe moves barefoot - so I'd recommmend learning them in shoes anyway if you plan on mainly playing in shoes.
Hitting things in gumboots (wellingtons) surely still counts...
A few months ago I hit pixie ducking mirage barefoot... with a mushroom
For whatever reason, Frigid blender is easier for me without shoes. There are a couple of other tricks that involve that frigid stall that seem to come naturally without shoes

I like John's post. It has been said a few times, sure you can bust some harder tricks barefoot, but I don't think anyone can string as well with no shoes, and everybody knows you can only really own a move if you can hit it midstring, untill then it's just something you can do, not a part of your game.
Nagasake wrote:If you have to take off your shoes to give you the added speed to hit high dexterity tricks, then no, it doesn't count. You may hit a big trick barefoot, and it could be massive, but if you're in the middle of a run you can't exactly take off your shoes to drop it midstring, can you?
My friend can take his shoes of midstring, and put them on again
Of course barefoot tricks count. They count as hitting the trick in barefeet. They don't count as hitting the trick in shoes.
Some tricks are a lot easier to hit with shoes than without shoes and if somebody said to me "i've hit pixie flurry" and didn't tell me that they can only hit it bare feet I'd probably feel like they've onpurposely misled me when I found out they couldn't do it in shoes. If they are clear that they can only do it in bare feet than of course it counts as a trick and for what it is.
As far as footbag goes as a sport - I'd probably score a routine or sick 3 combo lower if the person played in bare feet and did tricks that I regard as easier in bare feet. If they did a rountine in bare feet and did a lot of technically bare feet hard then they'd score higher than with shoes - but not much higher. However a sick 3 combo like smog>sailing mirage>pixie double switch in barefeet would score a fairly low score from me because it shoes the person is unable to hit the trick in shoes - which is a fairly significant technical skill and sick 3 is a techincal skill. Also the lack of variety would obviously hurt.
I would probably not be opposed to enforcing particular kinds of footwear as part of the rules for the sport in the future - just like all professional sports do - but I also can't really see many people competing barefoot.
In terms of footbag as a past time rather than a sport - well you can count whatever you want. There is no official status to anything when it's not as a sport.
i used to be able to hit all my dex tricks (only a few) much more easily bare foot but now since i have Lavers and have worn them in i think bare foot is more difficult and yeah the move should count seeing as though you are also giving your self less of a toe box area to work with but the added speed usually makes up for it.
Yes it should count
Matt,
There is no Boyall in team, unless it is an All-Boy team. PM if you dont get it
when i´m at work,i am barefeeted, and i sometimes(all the time basicly)play footbag then.i think i can do some nice strings,my cipper sucks, but for that i can do dragons so easy barefeeted.so i think, barefeet shred including inside or outside stalls is mighty impressive.i for example learned double dexes this week, can do em perfect and clean and stall em every time, barefeet.in shoes,no...so i´d say,it would be ok if someone told me"hey now go for it in shoes" because i know that double switch over is a lot easier barefeet.
but i agree to everyone that said,a move is a move!still counts
