ugly has a nice beat and the transition to the flute/recorder is pimp
but living has like a plane flying kinda shoshing which is distracting and to loud id say. ugly is my fav. good to see some music coming back tho sam.

Ugly sounds a lot like Confusion. The last riff matches Confusion's last riff, the rhythms are the same, and the general chord changes are the same.

I think the bass could be a little fuller...maybe just a hint of delay on it. Also, it doesn't really go anywhere. The whole feel of the track is pretty static. You could do well with having a breakdown somewhere in there.

Maybe more than one drumloop too. :) Drum variation is key!

The guitar theme works well, and I like how the flute replays it. Why do you start with chord changes, and then change so that the bass plays the same thing over and over? I think it might work a bit better the other way around, the listener will feel like, "Okay, now we're getting somewhere."

I'm listening to the second one now. I like it. :) The clave is kinda yelling at me though.

The sound spectrum is a lot fuller in this one...the guitar that comes in at :37 is great. smpdustin is right about the whooshing sound though. It's kinda cool, and I think it could work at its current level, but you'll need to drop some other stuff out. It just gets too muddy. Maybe postpone the whooshing sound, and when it comes around drop out the drums? That way the listener will have had ample time to get the groove/beat of the track in their head.

Keep it up Sam.
