Blurry World Shred Session!

Post by Uranos »

Hey all, just my question if people think that Shred Session will improve your game in any way mentally? I personally think it does, in some what way....like thinking about the next move you wanna hit, and thinking about uniques..etc. I saw Ken's post about saying how much he got into shred session, and so did i, so i thought i'd put up this topic.

Anyways feel free to post your highest score here..
Mine is 552, and 54 uniques!

I was going to put this topic in kicking circle, but i realised my question above implied a "footbag related" question so i put it here.

i personally hate it.

One day I am going to work in the computer industry and ill make a footbag game "Vasek Klouda - Pro Footbagger" There will be like Footbag net and freestyle. And youl be able to like upload music into the game for making routines. And like itl be really cool. Youl like press different keys to do different things like for instance, "A" will be out to in dex and "b" will be in to out and like "Z" will be delay. So you sorta construct the move as you go.

The computer game/ console game will come with a free footbag.

I busted my new record :D with:

Score: 589
Adds: 325
Tricks: 80
Uniques: 65
Drops: 0

I think my record would be pretty hard to beat

Hehe hopefully i can beat this in real life  But i had nemesis b2b, mobius > mobius > pdx torque > pdx torque, fog > fusion bs, scorpions tail > blurrier > ripped warrior rpt. etc.........

Good idea on the footbag gaming Ollie!

This game is so underrated!!!
WOOO!

I still have my trick list for the game taped to an old monitor in my kitchen from, like, 3 years ago! I had, like, highlighted certain moves and it's all faded from sunlight and stuff. Wasn't there going to be a sequel, or something, with, like.....James Risden, or something.....?? I dunno..

The lack of satisfying feedback bugs me. Real footbag is satisfying because I feel the footbag physically land on my foot when I do a move. The game doesn't have anything like a slight pause with a flash or sound (think tetris) to serve as solid feedback. So instead of feeling like:

"good job, good job, good job, good job, game over"

it feels more like:

"......................................................... game over"

My greatest victory in Shred Session was managing to graduate from Brown, despite this game coming out right during finals period my junior year. This game almost cost me my degree. :x

So, I'm sure most of you are aware, but for those who don't realize, Ken here is the official high score holder for Shred session.

However:

Image

This is my high score, and I believe the mathematically highest score possible. For you see, three adds pump your special bar more than 4's, and you can only do so many fives at once, so you have to do a good number of 3's to do fives, but to do all uniques fours are good. Basically though you just need to find the most 4s you can do while still doing enough 3s to do all your fives. One problem is that the only special from toe is fusion, so you can only link clip to clip fives continuosly. I found the most 4s you could do while still doing the most 5s, and getting all uniques (except for the last 2, since the last 4 tricks I did were nemesis>nemesis>nemesis>nemesis) and if you do all that, you max out the equation for the score 8). Kens score of 634 or whatever is still very impressive though :). I don't think anyone else has beaten it.

Hope everyones having as much fun with it as I did :D

Later guys,

Yeah, the game pretty much depends on uniques, just like the real shred 30.

Did Ken do 80 uniques in his 634? or...

Yeah and it sucks the fusion is the only toe 5 add move

And i realised a fault

spinning whirl is a 5 add, but it is only 4 adds in the game
