well ive played a bunch at different times today
managed to hit stepping far legover first try on my strong stepping side
i was also fooling around with using more insides in my runs and i did a fairy set from an inside
inside>same out>op out>op clip
i dont know the name of this set but i did it to an op butterfly.
I also hit
legover>magellan>PLO
first time ive ever done a pixie set out of a legover, i ended up doing it twice in one string.
anyway, my friend John is getting really interested in footbag and since he is a beginner he is completely new to footbag except for seeing me play and hearing me talk about it all the time (to other people who dont play either haha)
anyway, he was watching me and i was hitting some new stuff so i was like "YEAH!" and he goes "whoa! that was sweet, when are you gonna start linking all this stuff i see you do together?"
to which i said
"right now!"
and i did a 7 contact guiltless combo with 3 unique tripless
PLO>Butterfly>sidewalk>Butterfly>pdx mirage> osis >ripwalk
that felt really really good.
im still really trying to play tiltless but theres no reason not to throw strings like that into tiltless strings.
Since i want to concentrate on my tiltless im going to force myself to do a set number of tiltless (and butterflys) before doing any tricks with more adds, just to force myself to practice my tiltless more.
anyway, thats it for now, more later!

your new set is called neo, very cool set props on that. and you guiltless string i only see 2 tripless (4 add) moves, the sidewalk and ripwalk, nice run all the same though!
Definitely use the insides more, such a neglected surface (non-xbody of course). And very good idea to drill the tiltless stuff, my game exploded after i spent months drilling basics. It really pays off everything after that just becomes so much easier.
When you got that urge to do more than tiltless, start the run with some small tiltless and then end with a harder combo. I would always start stuff with like mirage > pixie (rpt) > legover > legover > butter > pdx mirage > butter > pdx mirage > guiltless shuffle. Its a really good way to get your body in timed in and focused.
Props on your progress lately, you have really have taken me by surprize. Look forward to seeing you at GRASS, and try to drag some of the NYFA crew with you.

ok, so really short post because my computer is currently on someone's (candice's) stomach (dont ask now, ill tell you later) so anyway, ive stitched a shitload of footbags in the last few weeks and i dont have pictures of any of them, but ill try to soon.
i did nothing too special today when i played (like 5 sessions as usual) but im really dialing my butterflys and kicks
i did 57 consecutive kicks today while i was having a cigarette with my friend John (see like 2 posts ago) and when i hit about 30, i caught it on a toe stall, took a drag of the cigarette, slowly blew out the smoke, and continued kicking, it was hilarious, he fell over laughing!
oh yeah! John started doing toe stalls today and he got 5 in a row! and he got his first inside stall. all of this of course in those whores i call my lavers.
peace love and footbag.

Candice (said stomach from before) may very well be coming with me to rochester for GRASS!!!!
im soooo psyched right now for it!
anyway i went to bed at 4 am and didnt wake up till 10 pm and as soon as i was awake and i had shaken the rust off of my bones, i warmed up with some kicking. my kicking record is up to 66 now, this is from a week ago where i hadnt even counted and probably hadnt gotten over 20
no special strings or anything from my practice but i can definately feel a lot of my tricks becoming progressively easier.
my PLO on both sides is getting really good. i hit it B2B for the first time today. that was really awesome. i also hit magellan bsos.
2 new tricks today. neo same and op legover.
thats it for now, hopefully ill have some cool strings to post about soon.

a lot. i could quite comfortably house upwards of 12 or 13 people. but as much space as we have, it would still be better to keep it under like 8.
i do need a set number of people soon and to make sure everyone will have transport back and forth from RIT during the day because like i said i can only drive 3 others.
im going to make a post in the journeys to tourneys about this.

i hit something else new at my last session that i forgot to post about

yeah, i thought about that, the only reason i originally thought that was because it is quite similar to the atomic motion followed by a same mirage, it would indeed be crazy to do neo tap inside>same out>same out>same in>op toe ha!
i have to say though that dispite the tripless links, i felt the best about the diving clipper, it feels so friggin cool, WAY better than ducks and WAY more controlled. but now i have to drill it, ALOT

there have been a couple of different things on my mind about my progression through the world of footbag.
1. I absolutely love the community and everything that goes along with it, including the drama and the contention over trick names and difficulty
2. Tombstone is the sweetest looking trick that i could feasably hit in the near future.
3. It is becoming increasingly frustrating to keep myself in the BS category, try as I may, some things progress faster one side than the other. so im gonna devote like an entire month after GRASS to my flip. i want to catch everything up.
4. Going along with #3, a perfect example of this is blender. i can whirl, and i can Osis, but my whirl is set from my left foot (so the dex is with the right leg) and my osis is caught with my left foot, so i presumably have the components dialed, but on opposite sides, making the trick just out of reach.
5. Its damn cool how not a day goes by where i dont hit either a new trick or a new link
6. the different levels of play i.e. tiltless guiltless tripless fearless etc. in my opinion were made to push players to link harder tricks together, not to link higher add tricks together. IMO it is significantly harder to hit magellan>nallegam than an infinity, both are guiltless links but i think everyone will agree that one is harder than the other. i dont have a point here necessarily except that there was a particular post recently in the new tricks forum that one player asked another player why they were guilting by doing a mid-link heel stall (it was a misunderstanding because it was an x-body heel stall, thus negating the guilt) but this disturbed me because it doesnt matter a god damn that the heel stall wasnt 3 adds! a heel stall is a tough trick PERIOD, even if the player is consistantly guiltless, if they're posting a link or a trick in this section, it was obviously something that they considered hard for them to hit, SO GIVE THEM THEIR PROPS AND FORGET IF IT FALLS UNDER SOME CATEGORY THAT WAS MADE UP TO SIMPLY CATEGORIZE A BUNCH OF TRICKS THAT RANGE SIGNIFICANTLY IN DIFFICULTY ANYWAY!!!!
7. That being said, i hit a 10-contact guiltless string today.
8. THAT being said, im sure as hell not going to feel guilty if i have to bail to toe mid-string, if i hit some cool links or some hard tricks, im having fun
9. Im not saying all this because i have beef, this is basically stream of consciousness writing
10. I LOVE THIS SPORT!
