HOLY CRAP JOHN THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!
Was that the Trans-Syberian Orchestra?? Man, that was so sweet!!!!
(I really dig Mephistopholes from, I think, the same album?)
The intro was some of the best-editing in a shred video I've seen!! The end was super neat too! I liked the street shred and the FLASh right to the music. Plus Brad Nelson is totally one of my favourite players to watch!!
Tom -- your shred is fucking unbelieveable!!! I never knew you were that amazing!!!!!!! Sadly tripod footage loses points :*( I think you could have done some hip editing with the darkness in this footage! Some sweet silhouette clips would have been styley!
Good stuff guys! Let's see more battles
Are we going to do this where the winner stays on and gets to be challenged by someone else? Or is it just like the other online comps where it's a free-for-all kind of deal? It would be kind of neat to have a roster, even if there are seperate battles, we could keep a tally of winners' points or something.

Nah nah, that isn't me playing, I'm just the editor
That is Brad Nelson playing, maybe someone can challenge Brad sometime and he can film and edit me. But no, that is no way me, I'm not neeearly that good. Thanks for the comments thus far. This kinda sucks because I'm at work...and I can download Mosher's vid, buuuuut, I don't have any audio
More C4 please <3
Wow those were some great videos! I had to go with john's vid this time. It was absolutely epic. Excellent editing. I really liked the variety of camera angles and shooting techniques. Btw (what was the camera riding on in the last shot?!)

I just found a pair of headphones, and DAMN MOSHER !!!!! The editing wasn't off the hook, but hell, YOUR SHRED WAS ! I am super impressed by your shuffle, and your everything else you were doing, it was oooh so controlled and clean. For a bit I was like, was that really mosher ??
To Slash : I was on my inlines, shhhh
To Chan : I don't think I can keep up with being challenged one after another because I win a battle. I won't have the time or the footage to keep making videos so often. I think people should just step up, in the Video Battle(discussion thread). Challenge someone else so we keep having a video or 2 every month, and it'll keep the styles of videos fresh.

I'd just like to say, not as an excuse, but I really wasn't capable of doing any of the fancy things I wanted to do.
I know all the things that are wrong with my movie, I just wasn't able to do anything about them.
I did the best I could under the circumstances, I had to fight with horrendous Macintosh technology to make this and as a result the file size to video quality ratio is terrible.
I also was forced to make this movie on iMovie, it was my first time ever touching the software last night when I sat down and pounded this movie out.
i hope you all notice that one video effect I used, I call it 'slow motion'.
oh yeah. and video battles suck. I have no way of doing any of the whizbang flashy editing crap, nor the technology to get film to the computer with any efficiency. You guys have no idea what I went through to make this stupid film happen, and now it just gets totally discredited. I tried to let the footage and the music speak for themselves without over editing. I worked with the footage I had.
Blah.
Really good film HooD.
You used alot of creative shots and every fancy editing gizmo your software has to offer, props.
I am going to fucking slay the next round, it seems that your hard work paid off, I am going to have to try that out.
PS I voted for myself out of pity.
edit: just watched hood's again, yeah, I got deeeestroyed!! hahah

It was either blurry video or mega-huge file size, I wanted it to be accessible.
I think that HooD used a 'louder' editing style than I did. It's more obviously edited, you know?
I put alot of time into the subtle interaction between the intricacies of the song and the video, I hope people took the time to appreciate the touches.
I really liked HooD's useage of lighting/colour to enhance the feel of the video and to compliment the song.

i liked yours tom alot due to music flowing with the shred but i voted for hood cause im biased to camera following the bag not so much his color changing. camera movement and shots > the music sync to movement i guess. but i liked both vid very much. plus tom, loved the pixie shuflling. and as always brad kicks ass.

Stop bitching tom. Dont Make excuses, and dont try to get pity props.
But seriously. It is hard without good editing software, but dont try to turn it against your opponent. And iMovie is an awesome editing program. And Apple/Macintosh computers are way better than PC.

The point is not that Johns video was freeking amazing and tom's not quite so much, the point is that this 'battle' encouraged them to try editing out and get a feel for it, and if this has done no more than teach these 2 guys what making videos is like, then that is bloody awesome, because if there is one thing the comunity needs apart from more players, its more media support, and thats what these guys are.
Great job both of you. I am proud
