Amelia, you're getting so much better. All that playing and practicing is definitely showing. :D I'm really impressed with your legover>atw>mirage and clipper BSOS. You have a really good person to play/learn with, but it takes a lot of dedication from you, so way to go.

I knew you'd get my challenge in no time. Oooh, now try starting that same challenge with the other foot and see how it goes.

And Lucky's a good name for a bag.

Trip to Sam's so far:

many attempts at DLO, even with a mirage before it (Lon's suggestion), but nothing yet.

Super super fun playing with Emily!!!

I'd like to thank Chad, Tim with red hair, and Paul for saving my butt a few times when kicking 8O

And Caroline for french-braiding my hair.

30 min session inside mostly to try to regain game after not having a session since before taking the mcat. It was fun, I played my old workout playlist: some James Brown, Beastie Boys, Michael Jackson, Las Kechup, Christina Aguilera, and Chaka Khan.

clipper BSOS>run with both pixies and mirage think drop on flip mirage
worked on clippers (yay) and fairy (no luck),
but the best part, durring billie jean, was hitting butterfly !!
8O sealed nicely with a bunch of toe stalls, because I was so suprised I couldn't think of a single trick.

but shh, don't tell Jeremy b/c he wants to play later today...

Sorry I haven't been able to respond before this, but:

YAY!!! Butterfly, that's awesome! I hope you can come to LA at the end of the month and show me in person. :-D It sounds like you're playing a lot more these days now that you took the big test, so I hope you're having fun with that. How are plain kicks coming along? And string length?

weekend

Post by Jackbag »

I will post about awesome shred weekend when I get home from work.
I will also bug at least six other people to post about it too, if they haven't done it yet
...

Clearly I am not the most lovable footbag player  but I had a good weekend anyways. J and I got to Ted’s around midnight and I cannot tell enough people how surreal it is to stay up at that cabin. Waking up and seeing snow close by, having my feet be frozen before I even make it to the kitchen, not crashing on the drive down the mountain…all exhilarating experiences.
I was happy to see Mike and Bryan since I haven’t kicked with either of them in months. Oh and I think one of my favorite circles was with Bryan, Emily, and Richie (how cool is that?!) I hit mirage>clipper and almost mirage>mirage>clipper. I really enjoyed watching everyone shred so hard during filming. I feel like I spent an entire day just being mesmerized. Goll my blog is so boring even when it’s about exciting things – you’d better hope that other people post about the weekend besides me. Then Mirken had me work on clipper>mirage, which I finally hit!!
Great dinner at Ted’s (molto bene!) and the next day we had a fun shred at the garden. I had my highest number of kicks with Emily. :) The only interesting thing I hit was pixie>pixie>mirage drop on clipper maybe. I had fun being with Loren and Luis for the first time. Both are amazing and unique. I will work on pixie>clipper (no plant) for Loren.

Many thanks for all the good times,

*A

Dearer Amelia,

I'm so glad you came!! I wish you had been a diciple in the movie!! But that's okay. I noticed that you had improved when I watched you play for about 30 seconds out of the entire day. I was much too busy that day. Thanks for coming to the psychadelic ranch (oops don't want to say too much  ) but hech yes I'm glad you came.

Keep up the clipper > ss clipper > op clipper > repeat when practicing.

And always practice your kicks.

Im typing cuz I am avoiding homework, gotta go

I'm glad Sam is glad.

I had a small session today with Jeremy. My shins started hurting right away, which just isn't fair. I know, I know, toe taps!

I practiced the motion for my flip legover, and though I was scared of hurting myself again, I managed to hit a few!
I hit butterfly again, but Jeremy said it's not great :D
I hit clipper>same clipper for the first time (only one side though)!
I hit for the first time flip mirage>clipper followed by a strong side mirage!
My "big" combo for the day was flip mirage>legover>mirage (first try!), which is three of the four that Luis told me to drill.
Not bad

Oh yeah Loren: I tried pixie clipper both sides today, and I had it on my foot a good five times! I just need to actually clipper it instead of kicking it.

The shower is calling me,

It just depends on who you ask :-)

Good work on clipper>ss mirage. I think it's really fun to do.

Had session on sunday:
pixie>mirage>pixie>mirage
mirage>legover (one of those was flip)
J taught me pickups, but I only hit one on my strong side.
My flip side kept doing legovers instead.

Jeremy asked me what topics I usually read, so I thought I would list what I look at/for. I usually start with getting started, although I hardly ever find something there interesting. I go down the list: general footbag, trick tips, sometimes bags and equipment or health and injuries. Then I go down to discussion and kicking circle, jump up to journeys to tourneys, so that footblogs are last.
I don't read that many blogs: Lon's, both Jeremy's, sometimes cfan if I have the time, Emily's, cic or Zeke's, and I try to check any other woman's blog if anything new is posted.
I look for posts made by Mike, Ted, Dat, Matt Cross, Erik Chan, Liise, Hania, Chrissy, Jane, Verena, Ashley, recently Brad, Loren, and Luis, Chris and Bryan, hmm and all the above people.
The more I read the more people I don't want to read, or read expecting not to be happy about what they have to say. Sad.
...
Well I just ran out of thoughts pertaining to footbag, and I don't want to spam my own blog more than I just did. I have to say this might be the most pointless post I've made. I'm glad it's in my blog.

Fun session!
I hit next to nothing, but I enjoyed the day so much.
pixie>pixie>mirage>pixie
both sides legovers
I did hit butterfly mid-run, and it seemed like I could hit butterfly set from far toe (thanks ted).
Oh and thanks ted for the bed on the mountain and breakfast
It was fun seeing Eric again, I'm glad he's still in SB.

This morning J, Emily and I had a session. Thank goodness I hit clipper BSOS again.
Thank you both for liking me and tolerating my attitude...you're such sweet cakes.

My sister had her first toe stall (barefoot)! "she's officially a shredita"

PS - I tried pixie clipper MANY times, and I footed it again, but still no seal.

First session after not being allowed to play with Jeremy.
Hit flip butterfly for the first time (I think) from op toe.
Hit it again in a string with a clipper (oh how pathetic this sounds).
Hit regular butterfly too, Jeremy says it looks like I could hit it BSOS.
Did not have any good flip clippers (the move that sparked the fire of our last heated disscussion  )
Was able to hit everything else except flip legover, but didn't try clipper mirage or pixie clipper.
Not bad for not playing in two weeks?

*a

Sat. 25th: Second session after being banished.
Jeremy wanted to get "footage" of me. Course I couldn’t' hit anything, and he said my flip legovers were not right at all.
I spent close to an hour on pixie clipper. I footed it lots of times....but no hit. Very sad, and it hurt my quad muscle!

Wed. 29th: Third session after being banished.
Feel like I'm starting over again. Yes I know it's my own fault for not caring whether or not I practice. I tried to be "good" and hold my tongue when I was mad. I think I fixed my flip clipper a bit, and I feel good about that. Though I still haven't regained the little flexibility I had. I tried to work on all my tricks, and I worked hard on my flip legover, but I got frustrated. I was able to hit three consecutive flip mirages, which let me tell you, is props worthy. I got sore and tired after an hour. Oh well.
Not footbag related: very busy at work. Finishing up the 22 surgeries have to do this week. I'm excited about the Fourth of July weekend. I'm so very close to finishing my med application... And I enjoy editing my posts instead of having my blog jump to the top of the list. It makes me feel less self conscience.

Hey Angel Cake,

Keep it up! Next time I play with you I hope for you to be at the same level as you were before, if not better. Even if you do have to play by yourself, try to play at least once a week for your own happiness. If you skip two weeks between sessions you're more likely to lose tricks/stamina and you'll get super frustrated the next time you play. Good job on flip butterfly. :-) Have you tried clipper stalls? Have you been trying regular kicks?

Respect to you for your first Banished Session. Furthermore, props for hitting flipside butterfly (like 5 times in total 8O ) and they trying to hit it in a combo!
You impress me and amaze me every time I see/hear you hit something new, especially when it comes after a 15 day break from footbag. To have that ability to hit something new after so long a break is simply further assurance that you have what it takes to be a freestyler, if you ever decided to be one. You are so c 8O l.
