UNCHANGED: clipper/jester/mirage help
Recently i have been trying to learn clippers/jesters/mirages. i actually really suck at inside kicking, which is probably a bad thing for learning such tricks haha. i can get jesters pretty good, and the occasional mirage, the only problem i have is that usually ill drop it after a jester and almost always after a mirage. any tips for keeping it within playing reach? also for some reason im better at jesters than at clippers. is that bad?

Seeing as how clipper, jester, and mirage are totally different tricks, I would just say you need to focus just more on the extreme basics.
Master the toe stall. Get 10 consecutive ss toe stalls both sides. Then get 20 alternating. If you can't get this, its fine, thats just a general idea though. Clippers, I'm sure there is a thread on clipper help somewhere. Fyi, a clipper is a delay, a jester is a flying clipper (no delay). Its not to your disadvantage to be able to hit flying clipper more often than clipper. Its an easier trick. Its just that you haven't mastered the delay of the actual clipper yet. So no, the answer to your question "i can do jesters more than clippers, is it bad?" is a big no.
Stick with it, and drill the basics. It'll come sooner than you think.

hey man, thanks for the tips. ive already got toestalls down like a clown charlie brown. thats why ive been trying these tricks. haha i feel kinda stupid now because i didnt know a clipper was a stall. you said that these are all very different tricks, then maybe what im doing isnt a mirage? im pretty sure a mirage is like this. set bag in front of you, throw one leg over it and then hit it with the other leg which wil be underneath: basicly a jester with mad style. maybe im wrong? i am now horrified at the thought of clippers. its gonna take me a looooong time haha. oh well. practise practise practise i geuss. any further help on how to keep good form when doing these tricks would be really cool!

That's right! You're wrong!FootbaggingCamel wrote:... you said that these are all very different tricks, then maybe what im doing isnt a mirage? im pretty sure a mirage is like this. set bag in front of you, throw one leg over it and then hit it with the other leg which wil be underneath: basicly a jester with mad style. maybe im wrong?
You've got the first part of it right - you set the bag up and throw one of your legs over it (from inside to outside (if that doesn't make sense to you, don't worry)) but then you don't kick it - mirage ends on a toe delay, which is good for those living in Charlie Brown Clown Town.
Check out the practice room vids at www.flipsider.com for individual move demonstrations. Use the left and right arrows on your keyboard for slow motion.
EDIT: You're the first player I think I've ever heard of from PEI. If you stick with the sport, you could have the pride of thinking "I'm the first person from PEI to ever do this!" about a hundred times by the end of the year. Anyways, good luck.
