Just a coincidence? That's what I would guess, but I could be wrong as I don't know what Jay Z's influences behind the naming of The Blueprint are.

Seath, I know what you mean about the relating to the lyrics issue, but I don't believe I have to relate specifically to the lyrics in order to enjoy them and maybe find deeper meanings in them that I can relate to.
Um, if that makes sense. It makes sense in my head.

Also, Stephen, I just realized something when this topic was brought back up and I started thinking about this topic for the first time since then. It makes sense to call the music hip-hop and not rap. Often times the tracks include both rap AND turn tablism, not to mention beat producing (which I would include under the flag "hip-hop" see DJ Shadow, DJ Food, Cut Chemist, RJD2, etc.). It's a mesh of various elements of the hip-hop culture. Thus, instead of saying, "I enjoyed that composure including rapping, scratching, and beats," one can refer to a hip-hop track. Not to pick hairs, but I thought this might be a way of looking at it you haven't considered before. Hooray for nomenclature discussions.

Hey, you're right, I hadn't thought of it like that. DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist are definitely two of my all time favorites.

Yeah, I see what you mean, that it can encompass multiple "trades" in one.

Yea I'm sure, but actually that last post was a line from Nas's diss track "Ether" in which he thoroughly fucked Jay-Z over.
