Dude, that sucks! Get a new abshire, they rock.
Here's what I wrote about LA and sent to John. I write these for his site, but they usually end up here anyways so here it is:
Skipping all the events I had to go through to get to LA, when I arrived (2pm), I got a call from Reile saying that he was in the airport and that Bryan was going to pick us up. After meeting up with him, we got a call from Bryan saying that he was in the lower level waiting for us. We were greeted by a smiley Lon waving at us and tell us to hurry up. I said hello to Luis, Bryan and Lon and we left for the session. The first thing I noticed out in LA were all the palm trees and the high gas prices. Bryan showed us a few things that were on the way. Gave us the good tour.
We parked at our destnation a few blocks from Venice beach. When we were walking away, we heard a rustling in a palm tree near the car. Now, this was one of the tall palm trees that was about 3 stories high. A squirrel fell from the top and made a huge thud when it hit the street. It seemed okay though and ran away. I'd never seen anything like that and just became part of the phrase I got from Bryan that I decided to describe everything I saw with, "Only in LA." We got to the spot and it wasn't 5 minutes before Chad showed up. We could see him coming from a mile away. So we had a 4 hour session consisting of Bryan Fournier, Chad D, Lon, Luis Monhollon, Eric Reile and myself. Pretty sweet, huh? I played pretty hard and well that day. It made me sore for the rest of the weekend. I can't remember what was hit, but it was so fun. Bryan has the easiest looking symp flurries. You can't hear his footsteps when he does them. My Lonn Irish bag is famous now. I haven't met anyone that didn't like it.
After everyone was tired, hungry and the sun was set, we headed back to Sam's house. On the way we got some Thai food. It was really good. My chicken was on fire when it came out. The timing was so perfect. The waiter came out with my chicken and as soon as he handed it to me, the fire went out. We couldn't finish all the food and gave the leftovers to Justin Council when we got to Sam's. Aaron, Richie, Chris, Emily, Sam and Justin were there. We hung out for a while and then Bryan, Aaron, Chris, Emily and I left to kick for a few minutes and head to Pinkus's house. It was a long, fun night.
We woke up the next morning and headed for Sam's. The shoot was awesome. Mike Hansen, Ted, Amelia, Jeremy M, and Loren all came that day. The day seemed to go on and on...and on, but it was worth it. I got sunburnt just on my calves and hands because I forgot to put lotion on them. The sun is so vicious there! Anyways, the spot was really bizarre. I don't even know how to describe it. The shoot ended and we went out to get pizza. Btw, Lon played all day long for about 8 hours. Maybe I'll check out some of those supplements he takes because I can't keep up with him at all. My body was already about to give out just from the session the day before. I gave Loren a spiritual book that a monk at the airport gave me for a small donation. I wasn't going to read it so I'm glad that he was so excited to have it. The night was spent at Sam's hanging out and having a few drinks. It had such a good atmosphere. Everyone that was there made it so chill and laid back...unless you were in the built in 4-square court in Sam's house. I never jumped in, but they seemed like they had a lot of fun. Thanks to Bryan and Mike for getting drinks. The Pinkus house crew left to go to sleep. The sleeping part didn't happen though.
The next morning we finished my scenes at another site. Emily, Reile and Loren went for a BRC run. That was interesting breakfast. At the site, Luis made the curve record. I played a lot of kicky sack with the happy bag. I didn't feel like freestyling much that day. We went back to Sam's to meet up with Jeremy, Amelia, Chad and everyone else that wasn't at that site. Dat and Dan had showed up. Sam, Chad, Lon, Bryan, Chris, and Reile had to go finish some stuff at another site that took a really long time to get to so I didn't go and said goodbye to all of them. I had some other friends to meet up with in LA so while I was waiting I watched the people that hung around play. When I got the call from my friends, Dat and Dan were kind enough to take me to a metro. I said goodbyes and headed out to find them at Universal Studios. Jeff, Jordan, Justin and I ate at the Hard Rock cafe and I got to see a bit of Hollywood. After that I went home. What a great weekend! I only got 9 hours of sleep total in three nights, but every hour I was awake was fun. Saving a few hundred dollars to fly out to places is so worth it. It makes some other things harder, but you get so much out of it. Easily one of the best events I've been to and it wasn't even posted on footbag.org! There so much more to write about, but I think that stresses everyone's patience enough.
**I'm not sure if these events happened in order. The weekend is blurred in my head
Edit: I just played for a few minutes and hit flip fairy paradon
