Choosing Dates for Events

Post by Splint »

I am so discouraged about a lot of dates that have been chosen for Jams and Tournaments. There have been 4 or 5 within 12 hours driving or 1.5 to 2.5 hours flying from me (which are totally do-able), but they all have or have had dates that are within 2 weeks of my finals.

Idaho, Montana, Rochester (not close but close to NY home), Victoria, Davenport. All having events that I Could otherwise attend if not for Finals.

Damn, I wish I could go to just one.

Who cares about finals, you need to come to GRASS, I couldn't think of another way that GRASS could get better!! You were a huge push for me to get where I am today.

You can study and play footbag, its only 1 weekend not a whole week. Come on...!

I think there should be a section of the ifpa which helps to make sure events don't conflict regionally or pose problems due to school and holidays. If dates were set up with broader considerations, turnouts would be bigger, providers would be more enthused, and media coverage would be more easily achieved.

Just a couple penny's worth of thought. Peace.
