Hematuria

Post by crazydwarf »

Hey I know this might sound a little wierd, but I was wondering if any of you guys ever notice any blood in your urine after a long shred. This has started to happen to me the last few times I've played, and I looked it up and it said sometimes runners get it from all the bouncing and stuff, so it sounded like footbaggers might get it too. Just wondering if anyone else has it and how they got rid of it. Thanks for the help.

I can't say I have but apparently if you eat a large quantity of beetroot then you can make your urine turn red 8O

I once bruised my kidneys playing aussie rules football and had blood in my urine. I would see a doctor if I were you - it could be normal - but I think you should always be a little cautious when there is blood coming from your penis... 8O

well it's not like actuall blood or anything like that it's just tinted red so I assumed it was blood, and it only ever happens right after I play footbag. Thanks for the advice though.

Oh, another thing - it could be caused by dehydration - drink lots of water, also something high in electrolytes - a sports drink or a banana and that might help.

Yeah, if your urine is a darker color yellow, it is generally dehydration. But like Jeremy said: if your pee is red, you should probably be freaking out a bit (at least I would....) Besides, considering how little trouble it takes to see a doctor, and the fact that if it IS something, it could be something serious, I have it checked. :?

Google people! :D

Since there is a lot of activity that gets your blood moving, it may have to do with the pigment of red blood cells "leaking" and being excreted out of the body

Heres some links I found:

Jay, I'm glad you're not a doctor, and hopefully not going into the medical field cause when you give advice or knowledge to people , be a bit more pleasant about it, in other words; Don't scare the hell out of Dustin.

Like everyone else said, get it checked out, it is abnormal and a diagnosis can't hurt anything, it's just showing you what is already there. Since you didn't mention having any pain, I doubt that your problem is severe. If you get it checked out, tell us what the doc said. Goodluck with that !

Don't pass things off as unimportant instead of making a trivial visit to the doctor so they get worse. Chances are you're not getting enough of something in his diet, and the only way he'll know what is to go get it checked out. People have lived for years with hernias-simply because they didn't go to the Dr.
I went to the doc because my allergy meds were screwing with my head, and they told me to drink more water. So I did. Drinking more water made an incredible difference in so many other aspects of my health, I wasn't as tired during chemistry/could exercsise longer..... I'm rambling about something else now-but I just wanted you to know it is important to go visit the doc
