I played today with dan.

I played well i think, i hit stuff like ripwalk b2b easily and just general 3 adds.

My ripwalks are getting very solid - both sides. I can probably do them like 80-90% of the time now. I also hit a bunch of symp whirls and nearly got out a barraging set.

Another thing which rolled off my foot:

Dolamite  Will hit it soon.

There's one thing that pissed me off. My ankle injury. For fuck sakes, i tried to take a speccie (Australian term of jumping onto a person's shoulders during a mtach of aussie rules football) over a person and i landed one foot on my inside. Thank god i didnt brake it, but it is really bad. It sort of effected my strong clipper, but i guess thats an excuse to practise my flipside.

Anyways, dan ednie hit this today which i was so stoked with.
Symp flurry bsos, and Blurry Whirl > symp flurry
He is getting really good, i can pretty much say he has really big tricks now. He also came close to hitting fs fury so it was good.

I hope my ankle recovers quickly, so i can fuckin shred hard.
Anyways, i am looking to play some footbag tomorrow too, but i wont do any symposium.

TOday i played one of the best for me in quite a while.

I had really good paradons and barfly's today, it was cool.
HIghlughts were:

ripwalk > barfly
dimwalk > barfly
a good blurriest
whirl > spinning clipper
ripwalk > sidewalk > blur and flip sidewalk in the same run
ripwalk x about 4, paradon and barrage in the same run
barrage > paradon.
ripwalk > pdx whirl

I footed blurry whirl again so i will hit it soon too.
Ankle is also feeling better so i can kick more

Dont you just hate injuries

From Today this footblog will no longer be mine, it will be a diary of the players from Melbourne Footbag Club.

Our club consists of a few members, some come every week and others on the occasion.

Dan Ednie - AUstralian CHampion, he came 21st at worlds in 2004 and has one of the best style's ever.

Scott KIrchner - Similar to Dan's style. Has those killer fairy sets and can hit drifters and whirls consistantly these days

Lynton Stephens - Doesn't kick much these days, but he is the founder of Australian footbag. Awesome atomic sets and his Neutron smashers are like a piece of cake to him.

Jon Lee - He has such talent, reverse whirls are so easy for him! He is great to kick with.

Sam Cox - IMproving well, only a begninner but showing some good signs!

Brendan Erskine - Comes sometimes, and he is pretty much the master of surging sets and he hit stuff like surreal, surge, surging nuclear set??
Awesome style!

And Just me, Alex Urano.

We have a pretty good scene here, not many come these days but its still good.

From now on i will post our sessions and how we went.

Alex.

Next Sunday, the big kick out at Federation square!

Dan Ednie is busting is out at this moment, i cant believe how much his technique has improved since Aus Champs 2005. He will be crazy ass soon....

Hey blog

These days i'm very pissed off and i smashed 3 windows today.
I don't understand some people at school and others. It seems like they don't stand up for themselves and are so influenced by what other people say. Today at school this dude got mugged, it wasnt very good.

Ive been pissed off about alot of things, so ive decided to play more footbag! Drilling will make me much calmer!

I know, i have to calm down.

Next Melbourne kick is on Sunday.

hey alex...

i've used footbag as therapy for a long time, myself. it allows you to focus on something beautiful and creative that exists outside of all the bullshit in your life that's pissing you off. I recommend drilling over smashing things any day ;) hope whatever's bugging you gets straightened out soon.

ps: I deleted that double post of yours a few posts back.

Hey thanks matt!

Yeah i kinda have relaxed now, but youre right about footbag as a therapy. I woke up today and i was really pissed off but after watching Anssi Sundberg's new video i felt much better, and more keen to play more! But yeah, smashing things probably isn't the best thing to do

I find it that not just playing footbag, but doing something that has any relation to footbag (watchin vids and talkin to footbaggers on msn) makes me feel superb. Hehe well im gonna drill my arse off tonight! :D After some assignments for school.... :(

i just hit dod rake and paradon rake in barefeet after this post, thanks matt

Hey all, a report from today's Melbourne Footbag Club shred.

Today it was Dan, Scott, Justin (newcomer) and me.

Dan and I met up 30 minutes before everyone else came and we busked for half an hour. The results were good, as we got 26 dollars all up and this included a girl that gave us a $5 note! :D Dan hit some really nice runs including a couple of janiwalkers midstring, and he played really well.
I played well too, i hit ripwalk > ripwalk > ripwalk > ripwalk to start a run, and i hit some long 20+contact runs.

Shortly after we finished, Scott and Justin came along and we started shredding. Justin already learnt toe delays and he can hit atw, mirage, leg over, inside delay, illusion all both sides!
Scott played well, his stepping set it really improving, and he hit some combo's like drifter > ripwalk which is hard. Also, he is really good at fairy sets and he even hit fucking butter to start a run!
Dan played awesome as usual, his janiwalkers are looking impressive, and he also hit a bunch of symp flurries. He also hit a combo which was janiwalker > blurry drifter and also blurry drifter > swirl. I saw him trying jani b2b and i think he will get it soon.
I had a nice day, played well overall. I hit paradons and whirls midstring, and i also hit a combo paradon > whirl and general ripwalks in my runs.
I had a 30+ conact string where i ended it with stepping op legover > paradon.

Overall, i think the day was awesome, Justin learnt some stuff and he showed great signs of improvement today...just hope he kicks forever now! :D

Hey everyone,

Nic, i've been playing since February 2004 (i think )

Thanks for your kind words Hagesy and Jamie!

Anyways, today i had a shred by myself at home, these days there are only gorup kicks on the weekend as everyone is busy.
I cam home, finished my 2 hours of homework at 7pm, and did some drilling but not much.

I schooled my whirls, and i emphasised on pointing my knee "outwards", not inwards. It worked and i hit a couple of nice ones. I also hit a nice pdx whirl, probably my best one so far.

My flipside whirls are still very bad, but i managed to hit one solid one. All i gotta do now is drill that heaps.

Thats pretty much all i did, but in the end i tried some new moves. I ended up with

Ripwalk rake (ripcake?) both sides

I think i hit it oneside on sunday, but was unsure so i hit it agian. On camera!

Its getting late, ciao.

Thanks Heaps Matt,

I hit one of those tricks in shoes on Sunday, but yeah barefeet is pretty fun. The biggest move ive probably hit in barefeet is spinning osis!
Jorden Warp in barefeet! shit....thsta nuts 8O

Today was the best day of my life lol

At the station i was coming home from school by myself, and i decided to try some moves. I decided to try a Paradox symposium whirl, and BAng! First go! (although ive already hit this once)

Then i tried Blurry Whirl, and Bang! First go again! :D (this was a new one)

I just got home 5 mins ago and i managed to get one of my Ps Whirls on video too! Im fully stoked, especially after only playing like 10 minutes today. Hopefully i can have a drilling session tonight after i finish my homework.

Peace,

Hey all,

Today Jamie from Bendigo is coming to Melbourne and is planning to stay for the weekend. This week we are probably going to have a lot of people kick. These People are:

Dan Ednie
- He has such sick style i cant believe it
Scott - Similar style to dan, very very consistant
Jamie - Atomic man and fairy man. Like the Karel Prokes
Jon Lee - Super natural talents
Lynton Stephens - Not sure if he can come, but i can expect him to hit some neutrons if he does.
Me

WOoo this is probably one of the biggest kicks Melbourne have had for a while. I mean usually there's only 3 or 4, but to have this many is good.

I'm gonna shred tonight with Jamie, i will report later. :D

Highlights!

Jamie:
swirl
beta blur
blurry refraction
stepping mirage
Getting better at blurs and drifters!

Me:
Paradon Swirl!
Dimmiest! :D
dimwalk > blur > dimwalk >blur (drop)
drifter b2b
a nice ps whirl at the end of the sesh.

Yesterday's sunday sesh has been one of the biggest for a while for the MFC.

Jamie, Justin, Dan, Scott and I all turned up with enthusiasm.

At first, Dan was busting huge hitting ddd, blurriest all bsos in the same string... i was like wtf 8O
He also hit really long runs and also a new 6 add move
Blurriest rake.
The dexes were very clean, and i can assure that it wasn't the'd.

Scott Also played really well, his strings were really long and he hit like blur > legbeater midstring and also some a.smashers. He is going to be awesome, not that he isnt now.
he also hit like 10 drifters in a row, which was awesome too!

Jamie has improved heaps since february. His strings are fucking impressive now, hitting like pdx drifter mid run! He also did 6 infinities which was cool. He will get better real quick if he continues to play hard!

Justin is a newcomer and he already showed some good signs. He is very determined, and he only drills basics now which is always good. Inside delays and clippers are looking much better! :D

As for me, i played alright. I hit some dso's flipside midrun, but i need to school datw flip more.
i also got this which i was really happy
dimwalk > blur repeat!

Anyways time now. Seeya.

Hey Blog,

I just came back from school, we had a charity run for 10km, and i just walked it.

At school i was showing my friends some footbag, and i hit like paradon on command every single time. I also did like spinning and ducking on command too.

At home i had a short sesh for a while, practiced flip double dexes.
I hit flip paradon much better, and it feels much more relaxed.

I also hit a new trick:

reverse whirl

I thought i would never hit this because i never understood that trick!

Thats all for now,

By the way Jeremy posted a pic of me and embarrased me on his blog. SHame on you!

Im gonna try and post a pic of him too, watch out Jezza cos i have the "skills"
