1)Battle Hack=Rippin' Run
>> please explain what exactly this is?

2)Shred 30=30 Tricks + Drops(Same scoring equation)
Fun to Watch
Hard to Judge
Hard to compete
30 seconds is not very long...

6)2 Minute Routine
Fun to Watch (Personally I find routines boring)
I think this is an essential event as it epitimizes freestyle.

7)Guiltless Run 8)Tripless Run 9)Tiltless Run 10)All Toes Guiltess Run 11)All Cross Body Guiltless Run === All good ideas!

13)Sick Trick=Best Move
I love watching this!
Hard to Judge
Hard to Compete - Its not too hard to hit one trick? Takes little organistaion.
Quick

14)Sick 3=Triple Trickster=Trickiest Tres=Triple Combo Mambo
I love watching this!
Hard to Judge
Hard to Compete Its not too hard to hit 3 tricks? Takes little organistaion.
Quick

The formats I didnt mention are the ones I dont think really belong in a freestyle footbag comp.

Shred30/routine/sick3 I think all deserve prizes, the others are just fun to compete it, not really that prestigeous.

What about a dexless shred 30? That would sound cool, but very hard.

for example:

ducking clipper > osis > spinning osis > ducking clipper > diving clipper > spinning xbody rake... etc

Dexless shred would be hardcore - especially for people like myself whose game is based completely on dexing tricks. :/ I like the idea of it anyway - a really good challenge for some of us :P I'd love to have a dexless battle with Ken Somolinos - that would be awesome ;)

Its funny cos i actually got this idea from you Jeremy - remember at the basement shred when you came to my place pre Aus Champs 2005? You were talking about trying to hit 10 unique dexless tricks or something. But anyway, thats how i got the idea.

I think Lonn, you would be good at this cos you are awesome at spins and ducks etc.

Wow 10 unique dexless, that would be hard 8O

I guess you could hit:
Ducking clipper>spinning osis>diving osis>ducking clipper>spinning osis>diving osis>diving clipper>spinning clipper>osis>diving clipper>spinning clipper>osis>double spinning clipper>zulu clipper>weaving clipper>double spinning clipper>zulu clipper>weaving clipper>double spinning osis>double spinning osis....

If you where vasek and you had been taking a course of steroids... ;)

It's one of my easier challenges :P - I think they had to be genuine too. My current record is 5 or 6 I think :P

1. Rippin' Run (I want to see it in Poland! Why there wasn't any event with this comp in Poland? I don't know... for me this is the best... I just like the battle idea)
2. Shred 30 sec.
3. Routine
4. Sick 3
5. BigOne

In order: from what I like the most...

I think that Rippin' Run, Sick3, BigOne, and in some cases shred are the best for smaller events., and jams.
Routines are the best for big events with crowd, sponsors, etc.

If I would organize an event in my town I would choose Rippin' Run, shred, Sick3 and BigOne.

You didn't mention any of the new ones pawel, which of those do you like?

I want to do all of the ones Lon named, and even though the dexless sounds so hard for me (since I'm all dexy shuffle too), it would be fun too.

I'd really like the tripless run contest, but I think you greatly underestimate the difficulty in judging. My first 10 contacts would have atom smasher, toe blur, and toe barrage in them, and there are a great many people who still consider these move threes because they have some random objection to x dex. If half my toe tricks became 3's again, I would have great trouble going tripless, even though under x dex I'm really good at it.

Is this just going to lead to more useless back and forth, or will it go ignored more, or can we actually find a way to standardize x dex (please)?

WOW

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK/OPINIONS/IDEAS

I like the idea for NO-Dex Guiltless & All-Dex Guiltless.

X-Dex is Standard.

Four Square is not great for competition but worked GREAT at CSS6.

I think toe thirty and crossbody thirty would be great things to add, along with longest guiltless/tripless/fearless. Rippin' run is a must, of course. Seattle does that each year. 8) I don't personally like the idea of consecutive competitions and races.

Yeah toe 30 is a good one

how about a both feet dex shred - whoever can get the most uniques where each move requires both feet to dex it.

I like the races especially. I have some idea... Why to limit a race only to one trick. Something like tiltless race would be greate! And an Infinity race (you saw it on vid "Pomorski shred")!
And a Kicks Race for new players, or for people which aren't even interested into footbag, maybe they will!
The longest tiltless run is greate - especially for intermediate players.

What about an IRONMAN COMPETITION?
They did one at the Saskatoon Jam a few years ago. It was fun, but really tiring. It's easy to judge, but I guess it's kinda boring to watch and compete in, although it's easy and even newbs can hold there own against the pro's.

Edit: forgot to say what it is. . . just kick it for as long as possible. No stalls. Drop and your out. Everyone starts at the same time. Last one standing wins.

we did that at the last german champs 2004 in hamburg. there even was an intermediate and an open ironman (which i personally think isnt necessary). it was cool... most people kicked it for about 2-8 minutes...
stefan siegert and jan zimmermann had the winners battle tho. they kicked for 48 minutes straight! that was freaking long. dunno who won. hoewever tournament organizers must calculate a lot of time for this event, since you never know, who longs its gonna take.

I love tiltless race, I do runs all over campus, especially on Saturdays during the session. I did a real long one last weekend (prolly 40 tricks) with butterflys, and smears, and symposium mirages, even a toe whirl, but mostly tiltless. I remember Vasek rip-walking down the hall from the shred room to the sweat room in San Fran in 02, great inspiration.

Can't wait to be the champ at it. :)

I'd love to see a ten second battle go down
sorta like a bboy throwdown, two people go up on stage, they get ten seconds each to impress the crowd, then the judging is based on crowd appreciation/cheering

You could tier it and get the crowd going..

Emphasizing on the kicking race, how about a

50 metre Mirage race

AND

smear race based on a calculation of

distance / no. of mirages

Mirage race was one of the first ones mentioned, and although we estimated, 50 meters is kinda close to what we did the first time. I wonder if I would have still won it if it were longer distance?
