Ben played very well, it was so great to see him playing with all his surfaces, especially being clipper dominant as he is. Mega props, and thanks for helping me get Evan there. He didn't leave my house til 9:00pm.
For info on the "Epic shred", please see my blog : "Bum's blog". I worked very hard to put the session together, and pretty hard on the summary too.
Peace,
Bum

Today I had a Sociology final which took me 10 minutes to complete. It was so easy. So since Tuesdays and Thursdays are Loren's and my shred days I figured we could have an extra long shred. Instead of playing for less than 2 hours we could play for almost 4 hours. So that's just what we did. My ankle was ok for about an hour again, then it flared up. SO whenever it starts to hurt I just go back to toe and flipside clipper stuff.
I was hitting some alright bsos stuff when my ankle felt good. I hit a pretty good sized run into a pdx torque hand catch.
Stuff:
pixie legover > smear > repeat x2 + a pixie legover
diving torque a bunch of times
fairy gyro mirage twice
close to phasing gyro mirage
That's all for today.

I should hit my sick trick today.
The phasing gyro mirage made me think about it, even though it is not related to it. (im gonna hit full symp tapdown

Cool Henry.
Is that a symp. atomic symp. ss mirage?
Because that is a pretty sick. Actually I think Loren hit that today too.

Great session. Check your challenge.
Bisymposium tapdown is a fun trick, and Bisymposium Tap (or Alpha Beta Tap, which are both of the simple and correct names) is really fun.
Stampede is frontside atomsmasher I believe though. Setting term >op mirage = set noun (as long as the term isn't a noun itself). For example: blurry mirage = blur; surging mirage = surge; phazing mirage = phaze; furious mirage = fury. This works with almost any adverb set name made after sets became popular. Pixie and fairy are both nouns as words, so they need special names for mirage. Maybe this only works too rarely not to mention though. Especially in my homies blog...

Yesterday I forgot to mention that I shredded so hard my right shoelace broke. So I just made a quick stop at Target on the way home and bought me some brand new white shoelaces. They look really bright compared to my extremely dirty lavers. They look kinda cool I think.
Today I played for only 1 hour and 15 minute for a few reasons:
1) Tomorrow I'm gonna be playing with Loren and a few others for our last Thursday shred session and I want to be strong for that.
2) My shins felt a little weak after an hour of shred.
3) I played for 4 hours non stop yesterday.
Today I wanted to continue resting my ankle. So I decided to work on spinning from my flipside butterfly because I've noticed that is a weak element in my game.
So I did these drills:
butterfly > spinning mirage > repeat x3
butterfly > gyro legover > repeat x3
butterfly > gyro mirage > repeat x4
butterfly > spinning legover > repeat x6
butterfly > spinning butterfly > blur > repeat
Also I did:
butterfly > blur > repeat x4
paradon > DDD
paradon > DDD > legover > DOD
torque > DDD
Oh and by the way, does spinning mirage get pdx? If not, then why?

Yesterday we had some good shred going on. We had a big circle with only two of us (Loren and I) who played footbag. It was an ok session for me. Nothing spectacular, well that is until everyone left except Loren. After everyone left my legs were feeling hurt, but I decided to try hitting montage once again. So first try my set wasn't good, second try I hit it clean. I was psyched. So yesterday was a pretty good day, but I'm definitly resting today.
If they have a may sick1 I gotta get someone with a camera and hit montage.

Today was good as all Saturdays are. I had some nice long runs. Still resting my ankle. Man when I get full use of my ankle again I'm not going to have a flipside at all. It's going to be awesome!
I hit whirlwind a few times.
Montage once!
Diving torque
Hopadon a few times.
It was some really good shred.

Haven't shredded since Saturday, but my ankle is feeling really good. I'm confident that when I play with it on Saturday it will feel fine.

Sweet! I just finished school last Thursday so this week I decided that I was going to rest my whole body.
So Saturday I should be in great condition for a great shred.

I can't wait till' tomorrow! My ankle feels good, but I'm a little worried because my right knee is a little tender. It's ironic, I've never had any knee pain while playing footbag, then the first time I take a week off from footbag in like a year, my knee starts to have pain. How does that make any sense?
Anyway I was driving home today and I got to thinking. Footbag is in a sad state of affairs when a Whirlwind gets the same adds as a Ripsteining diving DLO or a Triple inspinning barrage or a Double diving flurry (not including x-dex). Something has got to be done about this and I've been trying to think of how and haven't come up with anything good except splitting all the tricks up into different categories by difficulty. The only problem is there are so many tricks and variations that it would be near impossible to do that.
Oh well, that's my rant for today. I'll keep thinking about it. Can't wait till' tomorrow.

Yes! Praise God!!! My ankle is back! I shredded hard today and used it a lot and it feels fine. I can still stretch it without it hurting and it feels great. My knee is also good, better than it has been all week. I think rest hurts my knee and footbag heals it. Seriously. I did all kinds of PS Whirls on it and it feels awesome.
Ok I busted HUGE today. My flipside is isane now! I feel so balanced, I no longer feel weak on my flipside. I hit so many long, good runs today I can't remember them all. We filmed today as well so in a few weeks you should be able to see some of the runs that were hit this week and last week. (I dedicated one run to you Henry and it was pretty sweet)
I was sad though, because the camera ran out of film before the best run of my life.
It started with twirl > PS whirl and continued with a few other tricks then busted a Whirlwind on one side then continued on for a little bit and then busted Whirlwind other side!
I was so excited! Perfect form and everything.
Also at the end of a 10 or so contact run I hit PS whirl 3 times in a row easy.
I was dumb and forgot to get the two videos we made from Steve so I could edit them, but I'll try and get them next week or we can just have someone else edit them; I don't care as long as we can get them done ASAP.
I think everyone should pretend that they can't use their strongside and just use their flipside for a month. You wouldn't believe the difference it makes. Now all there is to do is get my ankle back into perfect shape so I can bust some even better stuff.

Care to share what went down in the run that was dedicated to me? Hehe. I dedicated a run (after i read that you dedicated a run to me) to you, it had a bunch of osii and drifters/ducking clippers
JSACK wrote:alright well me and obara'bars, shredded our dicks off, since we are both in high school, obviously there is some sort of talent show
Ya, I think we got the run on film, but it was a 99% osii run. I think I had like 2 butterflys in the whole run. I started out with just osis > repeat a bunch of times then went into a bunch of ducking and diving osis. It was sweet.

Thanks, I'm alright. Not the best, but I consider myself pretty good for how long I've been playing.
I would definitely compete in the sick3 and sick1 if I had an available video camera, but I don't have one. Steve in our club has one, but it's his family's camera. I might be able to use my digital camera though... I never thought of that... I'll see if I can use that. Thanks for reminding me!
