Rod Laver Sizing

I just got back from the mall from trying on some rod lavers. My normal size seemed to fit, except the heel came up (out from my shoe) a little bit. After trying a size down, which was pretty snug, the heel still came up a lil bit. After inspection, the inside material seems to be a lil slippery, which is probably a factor. The laces were dinky, so I couldnt tie them tight enough. What happens when I mod them? So do rod lavers run small or have a big heel?

I have never had that prob...But I tie them tight as a camels butt in a sandstorm. When you mod them they sorta mold to your footbetter. I just wear my regular size in them that I wear for everything else.

If you use insoles (which you should, for cushioning and shock absorption),
you shouldn't have that kind of problem anymore.

I use the dr. scholls (sp?) gel things...I want more of a cushion support though...I need to look more.

I use Spenco "Court Aerobic" insoles. They're green, quite good, but cost about 20 dollars or so. They last for up to 1 year or more and i think they do a fair to good job at denying shin splints. i got them on a reccomendation from Sam Colclough about 3 years ago and I have worn them ever since.
