There is a good chance that if i dont make it to Finland this year (doubtful) that Amelia (Jackbag) and I will try to make a midwest trip to visit relatives in Indiana, friends in Iowa, and of course, my homies in the CIC. Now, I have no idea when this might be happening, but i imagine sometime between early june and late august. Question 1: Are there any scheduled tourneys around that time? Question 2: If not, and if i come, can we host one (not a tourney, more like a jam)? Question 3: Who is with me?!!!!!!

There is nothing definitive yet as far as any tournaments are concerned. I'll have to contact the 2 Scot's...

But me and a few of the guys have been talking about throwing Jam during the summer, probably on a weekend when there are no other events going on. If you have any idea what dates you might be coming by let me know so we can set something up.

A summary of the jams and major festivals that we will be kicking at.

-Chicago Inner Circle's 5th birthday on May 15. Time and location TBA. Not quite sure what to plan for this. It all depends on how many people I know are coming out. At the very least I want to play lots of footbag and BBQ.

-Windy City Hempfest on Montrose harbor May 21-22.
We're not there for the cause, we're there for the kicking. Of course, same can be said about bluesfest, Taste...

-South Side Freestyle Day on June 4th at 12pm

-22nd Annual Chicago Blues Festival June 9-12

-25th Annual Taste of Chicago June 24-July 4

-27th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival September 1-4

I would like to recommend for everyone to come out during the Taste of Chicago. There are supposed to be a bunch of good bands. All free. CIC is out there most of the week during the Taste near the FOX bandstand on Jackson (I think) and Lake Shore Drive.

CIC B-day Jam on 5-15-05.

2pm at North Avenue beach just north of the white and blue boathouse. No grilling of any food as originally planned, I think we'll just go out and eat afterwards. Shred, hack and 4-square all day!!!!!!

This event will happen at the beach with a great view of the Lake and Chicago's skyline. There are usually tons of people down here. i don't know if the volleyball has started yet this year.

A bunch of Lane Tech students will probably come too. They are Zeke's private 4-square army. Actually we will probably have a battle of 4 square!

FOOD: Gonna feast at a GREAT chicago restaurant. We have a few in mind, but are waiting till day of to see what we're in the mood for.

This was originally planned as a small event, but keeps getting bigger. It's going to be tons of fun!!

Anyone driving out:

There is parking at North ave beach, but ya gotta pay, and it's full usually (at least in the middle of summer, so maybe not now).

There is. however, parking all around a number of blocks away. Just drive around for a while and you'll eventually find a space. Take note of the signs that say you can't park on a particular street. It takes time to find a spot, and like 5-10 minutes to walk to the spot.

It may be cold this weekend...meaning colder by the lake. As a backup, we will go to Welles Park (Montrose and Western) @ 2pm. We will keep an eye on the weather and update everyone on Friday.
