Nice tricks Andrew! You skooling your Shred30 as well? Just so you know, you`re currently signed up for Phat Combo and Shred30 for TSG3. Try not to beat my ass too badly in Shred30. Man, I`m getting so excited for your arrival! To that end, please PLEASE don`t injure yourself. Please take more time off than you think you need, and don`t try any crazy moves in the month leading up to the tourney.
Oh yeah, a couple TSG3 sponsors have contacted me and said they have sent you packages... so keep your eye on your mail for the next couple weeks.

had a good session with josh tonight, but i really really need a new 32, these sand bags are driving me crazy! we started at 6ish and josh had to go get Jen at 9, but he wanted to play more so we played untill about 9:15 then he left.
he broke hit ripwalk reacord with 3 and footed 4 which was really dope. he was putting down some really nice runs, like magellan> plo> smear> dimwalk> ripwalk> blur. he also had a really cool run that was plo> terrage> trip walk> stepping far legover> pixie ss dyno.
i stayed and worked on a few links i hadn't been able to hit during the session, my sick 3 and my shred 30 for TSG3 untill 10:15. i changed a few things in my shred 30 so as to get rid of a few links that were consistantly giving me trouble and i hit the whole thing once and got throught it a few more times with only 2 drops. it's pretty much all shuffle so i take a minute or 2 between attempts since it nearly kills me every time.
sick 3's went down nicely, i have a hand full of 5>5>5 combos i can throw down in a couple tries, so i think i'll pick a few of the more unique ones and work them untill they are easy as cake. and i guess a really easy one as a safety.
i hit blurry drifter>tombstone bsos after many many tries. blurry drifter>ripwalk> rpt again after many many tries. tombstone> tombstone starting from both sides. yay! but the big one i was really working was rubberman with fog instead of blur. i hit all but the last legbeater during the session so i knew i just needed to buckle down.
hit it starting on flip fog and into a run, and then again starting on strong fog, but no seal on the last legbeater. got me thinking about blubber man with bedwetter instead of blur...
i was able to put down bedwetter> toe blur> tripwalk> bedwetter starting on one side, and only bedwetter> toeblur> tripwalk the other. not too far off... maybe once i start working on eggbeaters more it'll come, but i was still floating on air with the rubberman with fog. sick.
edit: i also forgot to mention that i have come up with 2 new video projects. one that i can film any time and one that will be close to feature length and will require some serious serious planning. i might do it during ShrEdmonton and Hackrifice since i'll have a large assortment of shredders to pick and chose from. the shorter one will just feature Josh and i but it'll be fun. and will probably freak some skulls. we have been listening to this Freaky Flow album Da Envy for the last few sessions and this one song has just struck me and i will make a video for it. i have also started on my GLASS video, since it is now obvious that Camille is never going to send me her tape. as is life.

woah, nearly on page 3...
yesterday i had such a good day. well for the most part. my grandpa whom i used to live with has just come out of surgery. he had a large section of his lare and small intestines removed because there was a tumor that was cancerous. he's doing well though, and every day he is looking better. he's still his pugnatious self. he was making fun of my hair when i went in to see him. also asked if i was playing alot of foosebag. he knows it's footbag but calls it foosebag simply because he knows it irks me. what a guy. i had a visit with him for about an hour then went off for dinner.
i went and schooled footbag at gym at taché hall at the university. it was not an intense session, because i spent it doing alot of consecutives trying to break in my new suderbag. after a while i kept hearing these muffled "oh my god" 's and "no way" 's and i looked out the window and there was 4 guys just shitting them selves. i like having small crowds of onlookers, it pumps me up (josh can vouch for me) and i layed down a nice both sided shuffle oriented run of about 25 contacts. they took off, only to reapear in the gym and asked if i wouldn't mind playing with them and showing them some stuff. it took alot of working, but i gently let them know that i was not a hippy, it's not a hippy sport, and it's called footbag, not hacky sack and why we don't support the name, etc. etc.
i cooled down here, because i would kick with them, do about 10 tricks then kick and pass. they left but i made sure to give them a bunch of info footbag.org, hackrifice.com, and the like. i kept playing for about half an hour but really didn't have the drive after the warm down and felt sluggish.
earlier in the day my friend will had called me and i had forgotten about it so i called him back. he wanted to know if i wanted to go out, and since i hadn't been out for well over a month i decided, "yeah, sure! i'm there"
he gave me some basic instructions, on osbourn between the toad in the hole and the collective cabaret second floor. i said i'd meet him there. as i started to think about it i was convinced that the toad and the collective were connected and that there aren't any bars in between... hummm
i went down and found that between the 2 bars was a door with korean writing on it. i was intrigued. opening the door revealed a stair case, which lead to what at first looked like an apartment building and i was really fucking confused. there were a bunch of doors all labeled with numbers and some with flyers and hours of operation, so at least i wasn't in some sketchy apartment block. only one door was ajar and had the same korean writing on it. i walk in and see a korean guy sitting at a desk. i walked in and looked around, all i could see were numbered doors, all very close together, down a hallway.
at this point i recall thinking "i'm in a gay bath house, and behind those doors are small, smokey rooms that smell of sweat and leather, and in them are filthy beds and complete strangers getting it on with each other and i shouldn't be here."
i would pay heaps to have seen my face as i aproached the man at the desk. i said something to the effect of "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... ummmm..... w-w......w-will.... belford?.......... a party???"
he looks at some white board behind him covered in a mix of korean and english writing, turns back and says "yes, room one."
i walked to the door and stood outside it absolutly distraught about what i might find behind it. i can hear noise coming from the room, and it sound s alot like screaming. i crack the door open. it IS SCREAMING!!!
IT'S A FUCKING PRIVATE KARAOKE CLUB!
the place rents out rooms with couches, large tv's with a karaoke box hooked up to it and a banging sound system! it was so crazy. i walk in and will is in the middle of screaming out some papa roach song. he looks over and sees me and announces my arival to the rest of the room, about 8 people some of whom i knew and some of whom i didn't.
it turns out i'm a totaly moron, and that i forgot it was will's birthday. i walked to the vendor and picked up some beers for us and came back and totally wrecked my voice tearing up the microphone with will and company.
my crowning achievement of the night was nailing "run to the hills" by iron maiden. usually my voice cracks when i try to hit the higher notes, but managed to keep it together through out! will and i also did some bitchen duets. we rocked cypress hill - "insane in the membrane" each of us doing the respective parts. we also ripped up "wonderwall" by oasis
and sang it just like they do, english accents and every thing. every one sang along to that one. so much fun. half way through i realized that i'm getting in some bitchin' practice for japan! and since i had the microphone at the time, let every one know what i was thinkgin about during and instrumental break in bad company's "come on feel the noise".
at the end we were getting pretty drunk collectively and slurred our way through some crap i cant remember, but i do remember we finished the night off with every one singing "bohemian rhapsody" at the top of their lungs. such a good time. we've decided we are gonna try and do it at least every month!
today i played a bit, the suder bag is breaking in slowly, but breaking in well, so i'm happy with it. it's as rolly as all fuck still but it's alread my primary shred bag. i have good ankle crank, but i get lazy when i use bags that sit. i figure this should help me get out of this bad habit, since any thing much less than flat rolls off.
mostly been shred 30 work as of late, since it's still really inconsistant. some times it's 1-2 drops, and some times it's 5 plus. and it's just all over the place. no method to the mayham. i can be totally fine cardio wise, and drop all over the place, and some times when i feel like my legs are going to fall off and that my lungs are going to explode is when i do it the most controled.
some nice new links...
fog> smoke> ripwalk> rpt (inspired by yves, or rather what paul c has said yves has been shredding like)
mid string pdx whirl> tombstone bsos
smog + pigbeater bsos
flog bothsides
i've been making better use of my osis and osis related moves. usually i do osis> butterfly or >pdx mirage, but i've been stepping and zooming out of them alot more. combos like stepping osis> stepping osis have been making apearances alot. or stepping osis> spinning ducking clipper
as well as doing pdx eggbeaters and dlo's out of them more often. i had osis> flurry and osis> jani off my foot, but i think that's a little more advanced than i need to be doing when osis> stepping is still challenging.
really really stoked for the upcoming tournaments, and with my karaoke skills getting better i won't be nearly as nevous about what the gang will be doing when not shredding in japan!

Yeah man, Karaoke can totally be on the agenda if you like. Was the place you were at all-you-can-drink during the singing period?
Sounds like you`re stepping up your game too, which I`m stoked about. I think the Japanese crew will be pleasantly surprised. I played in Osaka over the weekend... Kenzo is gooood. And Adam said you can stay with him for sure, and he`ll show you about Kyoto some too. Get stoked.

ken, the place was pretty sketchy, it was bring your own beer type of thing... pretty illegit.
erik, the fog> smoke> ripwalk> rpt one took many many many many tries, but i was really happy that i got it. and it was smog and pigbeater both sides one string, not smog> pig beater. i'll give that a go however...
awesome to hear about Adam offering the crash space. that should be heaps of fun! english tours in tokyo AND kyoto! kyoto sounds more interesting to me than osaka any way. double plus good!
i have been reading adam and kenzo's blog. those guys sound like they can throw it down! "kenzo is close to clown face" got me really excited, even though every one's definition of close is different. that's pretty huge.
karaoke doesn't need to be up there on the list, but if it happens i'll be up on stage... assuming they have the words in english...

KONNICHIWA MR. SPARKLE!
Hey, I never really thought twice about the t-shirt, but what are we doing with it? Should I email it to Joel or something? (Does he even have a computer?) Or do you want to take the sketch to that french demo to show him? Or do you want to draw up something else altogether yourself? I feel badly because I just remembered that you were excited to bring a tshirt to Japan, and unless we do something you won't be able to
Hey, a Chinese girl I know went to Japan and took pictures of this crazy parkade where you, like, just drive in and the parkade is like a giant vending machine, kind of, and there are elevators that move your car around to an open slot and you don't have to drive at all!!! It's so weird!!! Take lots of pictures of those wacky vending machines!!!!!!

no worries about the shirt. there's just no way it will be finished in time. i got a bunch of cool "canadiana" type stuff to give as gifts so it's all good. would have been cool to give them Hackrifice T shirts, but c'est la vie.
had a good session with josh tonight. i haven't really worked on my stepping ducking since my hip and knee started hurting in november, but when erik was requesting it from me the other day i have fallen in love with it again. i worked on it a fair bit tonight and now my form is much better, it takes much less effort and looks smoother. i hit ripped warior> ripped warrior 10 times tonight, about 5 times starting from each side. i had ripped> ripped> ripped off my foot. also had ripped> alpine blurry whirl fly off too.
i forgot to mention that on sunday i was jumping on my trampoline and thought i broke my tail bone. i never cleared the snow off it all winter and the canvas streched right out. we had a heavy duty steel step ladder hidden under there for the winter as well. i was jumping super high and when i reached my maximum height i did a bum drop and WOULD have streched the canvas to the ground. luckily the step ladder broke my fall. i swore and yelled pretty loudly, rolled of the tram and lay face down in the wet grass for about 5 minutes cursing and shouting. i thought i was broken, for sure. i was having trouble moving my legs because the muscles all cramped up. it eventually subsided, but i have a huge purple/ yellow bruise on my upper left butt cheek (yeah, i checked it in the mirror... what.... WHAT???)
any way, some leg and back streches took care of most of the pain, but i have to sit funny when i'm driving.
winnipeg is killer for pot holes and i avoid them at all costs!

Hey Andrew I think I fixed the hackrifice.com problem -- check it out and let me know if it works for you now. Apparently I had parked nameservers. Now I don't know what that means, but I think it's what you set up when you don't have a website for your domain name, you know? Anyhoo...it should work. Maybe our hackrifice emails work now too >_______<
And maybe I will update in the near future (still want to fix the blog...) -- so much reading for school, though (that I'm not doing...)
And while I'm here, how's Japan? When are you going to Europe? Are you going to Footjam and then coming home or are you doing a lot of touring again? Maybe by the time you get back I will be cured! (Or maybe I have too much faith in an ancient practice I know nothing about...)

hey erik, i was home from saturday to wednesday, and now i'm gone again. i tried calling you sunday, but you never picked up. i'm in paris right now, i leave for zurich and footjam tonight and arrive tomorrow morning. i hit my shred 30 2 times yesterday. that is 218 BABY!!! i rearranged it and it seems easier now!
any way, i'll be back on wednesday, think you'll be healed by then? oh hey i never told you that i bought climacools in japan and i love them to death! i haven't used my lavers for more than 30mins since i got back to canada.
any way, i'll check hackrifice right now...
nope. i still the usual godaddy page. oh well...
expect a big big blog update when i get back to canada. it'll cover what went down in japan as well as at footjam. cheers.

there are a few people who are going to be very very disappointed when they read this entry. the good thing is no one really reads this thing so that means fewer disappointed people! hurrah!
down to brass tacks. i lost my travel journal. this is bad, because it has lots of contact information of people from all around the world as well as my memories of numerous trips i have taken in the last year. the really bad part is i had written down all my japan stuff in there and was going to copy it all down into here. double bad-> it also had all my footjam info in it. crap! so i doubt i will update it untill i can find it again. it's in the house SOMEWHERE, i just need to find it.
any way, i noticed some one had a sloganizer.net thingy posted somewhere. i went and checked it out and put in "Hackrifice" and had some random slogans added to it. some of the better ones...
«And on the eighth day, god created Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice is rolling, the others are stoned.»
«What is Hackrifice?» - good question
«Food or Hackrifice? I'll have Hackrifice.» well... food is one of my staples
«Hackrifice - living innovation»
«Hackrifice - a class of it's own» - in the resource room!
«Go farther with Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice strikes back.»
«Start the day with Hackrifice.»
«I want Hackrifice and I want it now.»
«Hackrifice - a safe place in an unsafe world!»
«Hackrifice inside you.» - wow, just got a mental image
«Keep going well, keep going Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice it's a kind of magic.»
«Oh my gods, it's a Hackrifice.»
«I'd sleep with Hackrifice.» - c'mon, tell me it isn't true...
«Hackrifice is better than chocolate.» - still not better than sex.

believe it or not, i was acctually laughing out loud at those. i think i have a touch of the heat exhaustion. i need sleep...
down to brass tacks. i lost my travel journal. this is bad, because it has lots of contact information of people from all around the world as well as my memories of numerous trips i have taken in the last year. the really bad part is i had written down all my japan stuff in there and was going to copy it all down into here. double bad-> it also had all my footjam info in it. crap! so i doubt i will update it untill i can find it again. it's in the house SOMEWHERE, i just need to find it.
any way, i noticed some one had a sloganizer.net thingy posted somewhere. i went and checked it out and put in "Hackrifice" and had some random slogans added to it. some of the better ones...
«And on the eighth day, god created Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice is rolling, the others are stoned.»
«What is Hackrifice?» - good question
«Food or Hackrifice? I'll have Hackrifice.» well... food is one of my staples
«Hackrifice - living innovation»
«Hackrifice - a class of it's own» - in the resource room!
«Go farther with Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice strikes back.»
«Start the day with Hackrifice.»
«I want Hackrifice and I want it now.»
«Hackrifice - a safe place in an unsafe world!»
«Hackrifice inside you.» - wow, just got a mental image
«Keep going well, keep going Hackrifice.»
«Hackrifice it's a kind of magic.»
«Oh my gods, it's a Hackrifice.»
«I'd sleep with Hackrifice.» - c'mon, tell me it isn't true...

in hopes of challenging jorden's video domination over the last couple months, i thought it was only fair that i make a solo video to challeng his reign as supreme ruler of the video forum. but i needed a gimick...
he's always busting huge, sickening stuff, and naming his videos very pumped up names like hardcore/ intense/ massive/ ginormous session. we'll in the words of busta rhymes "it's time to flip it on 'em!"
behold...
CRAPPY SESSION!!!! mp4, 13mb
it was filmed sunday during what was supposed to be a 3 hour drills session, that turned into a 1 hour shred session, with disappointing results.
i played 5 or 6 hours on saturday during 3 sessions, and got a massive sunburn, so sunday i was pretty tired and didn't have the motivation or mental state to do repetitive drills all afternoon. my flip pixie was sucking it up big time so i pretty much dropped it from the session, except to start stuff with. so don't bother pointing out that i wasn't using it, i already know. oh, and the pdx whirl> flurry is thin (but there) so don't bother pointing that out either. also, the last time i used my camera was at glass in the bar, so the settings were left on indoor, lowlight, backlight, which really messes with the focus and shadows in different light. i kept moving the camera back during the session because i thought i was playing out of frame, so sometimes i apear to be a speck in the distance. any other coments not pertaining to what was previously mentioned are welcome.
if you post this in the video forum i'll kill you.
