Could have a new one each month, though that would be no better than a rotating logo

It's not like anybody is going to come to modified and get confused 'cause the logo changed. We all want to change the site because we have to stare at it every day.

I think you guys should give a randomly loading logo a chance. Every time you look at a new thread or write a reply, you have to reload the page. Every time you did that an exciting new footbag logo would come up.

Go to http://thedecadentwest.blogspot.com/ and hit reload a few times to see what i'm talking about. (that's a funny/offensive website with a bunch of good mastheads, which is why i'm pointing it out, just as an example of how cool it can look).

I don't wanna be a killjoy or anything here, but I don't see the point of a rotating logo. Contries don't have rotating flags, even though there are tons of cool flags you could rotate through. The flag is there as some kind of symbolic representation of the country for its people. If it changed all the time, what would be the point?
Maybe the indirect point of having a rotating logo would be because this logo is more a representation of us and not some way to identify ourselves in the outside world. The rotatingness shows the many flavours of our community.

It's not like we're trying to sell this site to other people, we're just spicing it up for ourselves.

That Decadent West website has a static logo - it says 'the decadent west' in a stylized font. The tagline and image change, but the logo doesn't.

And...

What the hell? We're absolutely trying to sell this site to other people... Aren't we?

Yeah personally I'd prefer just one logo as well but I guess I'm not too phased.

It just occured to me that we can probably make the whole site better, not just a new logo, but a whole new site design. I know there are some great graphic artists and web designers out there. we should be thinking bigger maybe?

Well, that's not really true.
Most people may not realize this, but Modified is currently getting free web hosting. If you look up at the top of the screen (yeah way up there) you'll see "hosted by modevia.com". Originally Jer owned modevia, but he has since left the company. The new owner has been generous enough to let us continue keeping modified right where it is and on top of that actually give Mike and I Server access.
The crazy thing is that Modified currently takes up more than twice the amount of space than anything else Modevia is currently hosting. That's huge.
So we do have certain limits because we should not take too much advantage of what Modevia is already generously giving us.

What's the realistic limit? I don't know, but I want to tread lightly.

Just a reminder that all your ideas are due by this Wednesday the 10th.

We're going to end up picking several of them to scroll around. That sounded like the best idea since there have been so many good ones.

Mike says 91 pixels is optimal for your final submission.

uhhh... Modified looks funny.
It's cool, but just damn weird to see something different at the top of the page each time it loads.

still, it's cool.

Oh my god. I was just going to post the same thing - I visite modified
like everyday and mosher stares at me! I'm really scared now.

Good thing with the switching logos - some could be removed though in my
opinion - like the cheap stick figure ones...and erm tom erm mosher erm.

I actually thought the Stick Figure one symbolized Modified in a way that non of the others did, that's why I made sure to keep it. It just scared me when it first popped up. It kind of had that "REDRUM" affect.
