this is what makes footbag so special

Post by zachatree »

But footbag is not just another sport. Commonly played on street corners, plazas and campuses around the country, footbag finds its unique impetus not from the quest to "win", but from the sheer joy of dancing together in a circle and working toward a common goal. When everyone touches it before it falls, the entire group wins. In this simple way, footbag compels groups of disparate individuals to set aside their separate, ego-driven minds and behave, for a moment, with a cooperative worldview. This is what makes footbag so special.

i had to post this after finding this on this web site, http://www.valinet.com/~dbotkin/whyfoot.html

but for real, what makes footbag so special to you? so special that you devote hundreds of hours in to. something that so awsome that you think about it in are everyday lifes.

One simple answer - Money.

Just messin, I think about that a lot actually. Why do I play footbag, why do I love it, why do I devote 1000's of hours to footbag ? The freestyle form just pulls me in, I love most anything that you can really define your game by style or moves. Footbag is just this, letting your body do maneuvers that most people don't understand, and having that maneuver different from every other freestyler in the world.

There are 100's more reasons, but I think that is the basis to why I love footbag. I could get into the whole exercise, community, etc. , etc., but I believe I've already said that before on this forum...some other thread that isn't around.

With a society of lazy excuse making video game/tv zombies footbag is perfect cause of its lack of excuses to not play.

Especially when you get older. Im 22 and its rare that i get to see my freinds and do active team things together like ultimate frisbee, football, volleyball. So for me footbag is great cause I cant find an excuse not to do it. I have alot of free time to myself and i just see my lavers and footbag just sitting there and not that i try but if i did try to finda reason not to do it i would be lieing to myself.

To get in shape you cant complain. legs have never looked so tone and buff and im not paying a gym 500 bucks a year to do it. 50 bucks for lavers 6 bucks for a mr sandman and you have the funnest cardio/leg muscle workout possible.

The last time my legs have ever felt tired aside from playing footbag was a long long time ago
