My right knee hurts like HELL ---

Post by Anz »

--- on symposiums like PS Whirl and Superfly!!!!!

wtf can I do to make the pain go away? I had a few days break and I've been trying other techniques but it just keeps hurting!
Now even if I walk stairs up it feels like my knee would pop into pieces.

AAAAARRGHH!!!

Dude that sucks. Go to a doctor or a physio as soon as possible. Injuries in footbag suck and you really want them to get better - rather than always hurting - which will effect your game a great deal!

Anssi, your knee just wants you to turn to the dark side. Eventually your entire body craves it. You can't even sleep, because all your muscles and bones want it so bad.

When your mind gets tired of fighting back and breaks  just start showing up at our net sessions.

Seriously though, injuries suck. I'm currently recovering from pulling my groin.

Get well soon,

Stop playing, take as much ibuprofen as you possibly can, and get in with a doctor as soon as you can.

I can NOT stop playing.

Today I had a small session (for like 15 minutes) and did a couple of PS Whirl with my bad knee. I hurt already, but didn't felt worse after the sesh.
I'll put some ice on it today.

OMG, you're right! I DID show up to your session today without knowing that you wrote this post here!! 8O 8O 8O
I can't resist it!! Net is taking me!!

In fact, I was playing net today with two newbies (the other one is Felix Zengers little brother!) today.

They show some potential and are very excited about net.

Err..excuse me but what are siblings? This dictionary (printed in 1978  ) doesn't know the word and I'm too lazy to go upstairs to get a better one.
Injuries suck. If you MUST play, then just don't do whirl moves.

Heretic!

Weird. I never thought that Felix might have a little brother. And I really don't know why. How old is he?

edit: just made the quotes work.

There should be a "Not yet" option at least. My mom is 6 months pregnant (with twins).

I was just playing and my knee felt A LITTLE BIT better that yesterday. But after I did some Superflies and attempted tricks like Your Mom and Symp Bullwhip it started revolting again...
Damned knee!

Professionals practice until they can't get it wrong.

No, I don't play soccer. Yes, there are competitions. 4 years. Lots of practice.

It's funny how you mentioned an injured knee as a pathway to playing net...almost implying that net requires no talent and can be played with very little effort ;)

Lol I think there is a pretty obvious solution here Anssi... stop doing symps? There are plenty of other moves you can do, you have told me :p
Your name actually fits that quote quite well.

Do you realise everytime you masterbate a kitten dies? Or something like that... anyway the point i'm trying to make is if you stop less kittens will die and you will stop getting that injury! ^_^

Huzza. Go do some good for the world then. :D (I hate cats - not because I'm a dog person - but because they're responsible for about 30% of extinctions in Australia)

I thought too that I should consider getting a bandage. I hope that I don't need one.
I'm going to see my school nurse next week. Let's see what she says.

Stop playing for 2 weeks or so and ice it and take ibuprofun , letting it heal would be the best option because keeping on playing might b injuring it more to the point where you might not beable to play at all.

Yeah Anssi man, you HAVE to stop doing those damned symp tricks. They are fricken hard on the legs and will not help your knee at all.

By the way, what kind of injury is it? Patella tendon pain or is it in the joint?

Stretch our legs out and start putting your recuperation at the top of your priority list!!

And if you really can't stop playing, then freaking take it easy you crazy Fin  . Hell, I went nearly completely tiltless for 3ish months! Do what you can without stressing out that knee!

Symposium moves are cool... but would it hurt your style that much to let them go?

I used to do lots of symposium tricks, but I figured out they weren`t good for my body. So I`ve mostly phased them out. If anything, I think my game has become more varied because of it.

Symposium tricks are fun to do, but I`ve chosen to sacrifice them in exchange for a longer footbag career.

Yeah totally Ken. If you can hit a Sick 3 which totals +15 adds with no symp tricks, that DEFINITELY adds to the style and difficulty factor!

I have no clue what Patella tendon is, but I think it's in the joint...

Well stopping all the Symp moves wouldn't hurt my game too much I think... but that WHOULD prevent me from hitting that beast I've been closet to
And it's not just the symps, also stepping set and doubles hurt.

It feels slightly better today than yesterday (before playing). I think that I put all the symps aside for this week. AND ease on everything else too that hurts.
I'm not sure if I can do it :? but Antti can whack me if I don't!
