I had a similar issue with one of the colours i bought from a local fabric store....i imagine that it would have to do with the fabric being old and weathered. if carol continues to use the same surplus of material then i doubt the problem will pass. that may explain why past bags were more reluctant to wear and tear. i personally think it's rude for a person to sell a bag that may very well disolove in the new owners hands.

In the old days, we knew facile was fragile and some bags just self destructed. We never took it out on or in any way blamed the stitcher, a bag self destructing was just part of having a facile bag.

in the old days, were bags consistently breaking in the same stupid way (looks like a cotton ball was ripped apart, not a pinhole like on an old, *USED* bag) from the same stitcher?
I have a hard time blaming Carol for the material, but the last two carols I've bought have broken in the exact same way, and a huge, fat silver BB has popped out right after the break occurred. Maybe it's not the material. If it's what she's choosing to fill the material with, that's a different story.
I've never had this happen with any of my footbags from other stitchers, nor have I heard of such an occurrence, but that could just be my limited experience.

It's rare, but I'ved had bags where one color develops holes (more like a mesh over the entire panel than a hole) the size of the entire panel.
Richie was saying last week, that since he has started using fields fabric exclusively, and refering all the new stitchers he meets to them, the occurances of bags failing have went down a dramatically.
I feel for you, Three of my first "good" bags self destructed where the entirity of panels of one color turned to mesh immediately before the bag was used at all. One was white, sky blue and purple and the sky blue went out, another was yellow and black and the yellow was crap, and the third was red and navy and the navy blew out. It sucks, especially when it cost so much to aquire a bag these days. I've had an abshire, two juices, and a hu-mungis self destruct on me, it happens, but it's much rarer in the last 6 years I think than it was before in the early to mid 90's.
