Well today i had a tennis match. Its my last home match of the year!

I won my doubles match 8 games to 6. I had some good hustle plays.

Then i played a singles match and wasnt trying at all and lost 8 games to 7. I wanted to save my energy for my sick 1.

So i went outside and hit my sick 1. Many times. I hit it 2 times in a row.

I hope mosher gets the comps up soon.

Yesterday i had a VARSITY tennis tourney. Me and my partner are on JV but a lot of the varsity was gone, so we played in their place.

We got to the site really early, so i busted out the mr. sandbag.

I just did some easy tiltless for about 10 minutes, then all of the other teams got there. I got out in the open and busted 15-20 dexless guiltless. Ducking, spinning, osis, it was tight.

Everyone was so excited and impressed! i was getting cheers and encores and people were giving me requests. I hit pendulous legover. Like i did a pendulum over my head and did a legover with the other leg. That was to start a run..

Then i did a cloud kick set osis. After some requests i busted out the shuffle.

Smasher>smasher>legbeater>ripwalk>spinning clipper>stepping ss clipper>run

everyone was so impressed. Theyre like "WOW I have never seen ANYONE do what you just did! You must be one of the best in the world! "

Yeah right.

I had a crowd of about 40-60 high school kids watching. It was so exhilarating. I hit

ducking butter b2b first try.

Dude that's some great stuff. You're getting really good. Your atomic sets murder mine. You should really come back down to Vegas and shred with us again.

I wish i could ben. Hey, are you and loren gonna live in vegas when you are done with college?

maybe i could move out there for college. hmmm....

Well today we set up our trampoline. This is great cross training for footbag. Its low impact leg exercise, and me and my friend mikey were playing dodgeball, along with my brother frank. We played for about an hour, and then me and mikey played footbag.

I gave mikey my old red lavers, and he hasnt put insoles in them yet!

So we start playing, and i got him to try mirage. He got mirage kick about 10 times with his left leg (strong side) . then i made him try flip mirage, and he did it way better! He almost had it sealed a couple of times.

Next we tried clippers. He hit clipper both sides! He dropped it on, but they still count. He has super flexible ankles, he can hit flapper with ease.

Then i told him to try an around the world, and he hit it first try! Then he footed it flip. Mikey is going to school toe stalls at home. I cant wait til summer when we can play all the time. He lives out in the country but its only about a 5 mile bike ride.

I had 2 sessions today. Highlights were

spinning clipper>ducking butter repeat
spinning clipper>ducking clipper repeat
spinning ducking clipper bs
hit atomsmasher>legbeater both sides.
Blur both sides again. stepping comes and goes
legbeater>blur
spinning clipper x 4 strong.
spinning clipper x3 flip (i have hit x5 on flip)
8 contacts of osis>ss butter repeat.

i need to work on osis a bunch. Its a weakness i can not afford to have. Any advice on osis Ben? You have them down pat.

Today i jumped on my trampoline and played dodgeball on it for 2 hours after school. Me, 2 friends and my little brother all played. The game works like this:

everyone but one person is on the trampoline.
The person on the ground is "IT" and has to throw the ball at the people on the trampoline.
If you catch the throw you are not it, and you may throw the ball wherever you want
The "IT" person must throw the ball from where they picked it up.
If your throw does not make it to the trampoline you must take 3 steps back
If you purposely threw it short you must go back to your original spot

Thats the basics, now here are the modifications we have made to the game

IF you catch the ball in the air, and throw it while in the SAME jump, you can get someone else it. Eg: I throw the ball at someone, they catch it in the air, and while in the air throw it at someone else. It hits them, so they are now it.
The bold type is called a "TIP"

IF you fail to hit someone on a tip, you are it.

You can jump off of the trampoline to retrieve the ball. But if the person who is "IT" says "Antafrantalantalope" before you get back on the trampoline, you are it.

Dodge ball rocks.

Then afterwards i had a session.

Highlights:

Drifter>drifter
spinning clipper x3 both sides about 20 times each
ducking clipper x5
spinning clipper>gyro clipper>repeat FROM BOTH SIDES
Paradox drifter flipside twice

i just thought of a drill that i am going to hit by the end of the week.

Paradox drifter>gyro clipper repeat

Tennis is over so my focus is SOLELY on footbag, and my legs will no longer be sore/tired. I found some ct 300's my size on ebay for $22, so i am gonna grab those.

Jumping on the trampoline is great for footbag cross training. Its low impact and is strengthening my legs. I have had a trampoline for 8 years. THe same one too. I love it.

Here are some moves i can do.

Frontflip
Frontflip 180
frontflip 360
frontflip ending on belly (1 and a half flips)
Front flip starting on my back ending on feet! -REALLY HARD MOVE
Air cartwheel both ways

Backflip
backflip 180
backflip ending on back (1 and a half flips)
back flip from my knees ending on my feet. -REALLY HARD MOVE!

what a fun post

Ya, the best advice that I can give you to get osis down is practice until you can practice no more. To tell you the truth osis was my absolute worst trick when I first tried them. I thought they were cool so I worked and worked and worked and worked ... (you get the point) on them.

I tried every trick/tip/advice out there and I watched every move video. They all helped, but none of them seemed to be the "miracle tip". You just got to practice them until you drop (your body not the footbag).

Some basic tips I can give you on the way I do "osi":

I watch the bag until just before it hits my foot.
Don't think horizontal movement with your foot, but think vertical movement (up-down).
Turn about 90 degrees and as always don't lean backward.

Hey, Henry, I'm sorry I have never commented on here but I've read your blog a bunch, does that count? :D Anyways, you're doing a lot of shit I can't, but I can do oses quite well. Oses, you say? Why yes, oses. I know there's osises and osii, but when you think of it, osis sounds more similar to thesis, and thesis goes to theses, so naturally osis would go to oses. It ain't pretty, but no one said it would be. Back to what I was saying, with oses, I bend my support leg a bit as I go through the motion, which seems to make it more fluid. And to get the best control, hold the clipperish part at the end a bit longer than you might initially think, so that it doesn't just whip by. And yeah, that whole practice like mad thing is a good idea.... I like to practice oses into other moves. Like osis > butterfly or osis > diving osis. Good luck mastering it!

Yo Hen-dawg! Drifters are my new thing (started drilling them with some inspiration inspired by your blog, haha). I think you should totally hit Vortex! Think of it as a Gyro Mirage but set a bit higher and you have to spot it a bit sooner. It really feels like a Pdx Drifter to me, and by the looks of it you have those pretty down so it shouldn't be too hard for you!

Trampolines kick ass! I am too scared to try backflips. I tried them once and sprained my neck. My chin literally touched about the same horizontal place as my nipples are :? . It was close and I was lucky I didn't snap it. I can do frontflips, aerials (I guess frontflip 180s), may have landed a 360 front flip, side flips, 180 side flips and even done a 360 side flip a few times (very scary).

I have never been good at receiving double bounces though. My legs always used to buckle :(

for dlo: same side legovers. (planted out to in atws)

if you get used to set> really fast plant> same legover, the mirage part in the middle becomes really easy and the turning fades away. This helps with eggbeaters too.

so, hit 30 same side legovers both sides and your set :-)

Peace,
Bum

Oh, and listen to Ben and osis more! Between the drifters is good, but he's better than me in a lot of ways because of osis; shuffle aint shit without control, and osis is the hardest to control. Get it DOWN and everything clipper is easy.

I don't know if you want these, but I'm going to give them to you anyway. Some good drills for osis in order of difficulty (kind of):

osis > clipper > repeat
osis > repeat
osis > ss butterfly > repeat
osis > diving clipper > repeat
osis > ss osis > repeat
toe ss osis > pdx mirage > repeat
osis > drifter > drifter > repeat
osis > pdx drifter > repeat
ducking osis > diving osis > repeat
ss osis > gyro clipper > repeat
diving osis > repeat
spinning osis > repeat

I think those will get you through the week. :D

Have fun!

Paradox mirage > Drifter > Drifter > Repeat

This combo is so you and it will let your game open up to new combos.
