thanks for the compliments boys. And yeah, i really do need to rest my knee. Bloody whirls and my bad technique. Every step I take, makes my knee pop
I do them wrong on my strong side. Mosher gave me a good tip on helping the knee pain: Do 20 dexes both ways on each leg without the bag and an easy speed. It worked for me.
Anyways, I had a really fun sesh at school with matt today.
New stuff:
FLIP TOMAHAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(excuse my excess use of ''!'') I was very happy with this because it had been bugging me that I couldnt do it on my other side. I am so obsessed with bsos'ness now. I guess thats a good thing.
Other new stuff:
whirl>pdx whirl starting on bs
a really nice flowing run with lots of spinning and ducking
7 consec spinning clippers on my strong side
flip weaving clipper
oh yeah, i also hit ripstein starting on a cross body toe delay
(on video and bare foot)
My stepping is pretty average at the moment, but im sure it will come back with some schooling. I am going to give atomics a go and see if I can put them into shape.
I now kind of have a training program. Every morning and night, after having a shower I do 50situps, 15pushups, stretch my legs,50situps, 50pushups. I have only been doing it for about 6 days and I am noticing a change in my flexibility and my abs. Hopefully this will only aid me more and more.

Hey blog. Had a kick with Adam Fox and Gareth Williams (Kiser_Tobias on the forum) yesterday. Best sesh ever!
I did:
bsos blurry whirl
flip blurry dyno
flip darkwalk (first attempt)
pdx drifter>osis (drop) (first pdx drifter ever)
smoke off my foot about 5 times
Pixie torque (finallllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy)
blurrywhirl>pdx whirl
a bunch of mid run blurry whirls
flip ps whirl off my foot about 7 times
Damnit. My camera is in for repair so nothing was captured
Gareth was playing well. He hit some cool stuff like:
quantum ss legover (first time)
toe blur sealed with a nice run
symp whirl sealed with another run
He also hit some more cool stuff that he might post about.
Foxy (adam's nickname) was going awesome. He came up with things like:
spinning osis bs
a run with ripwalk
symp pixie super easy bs
comming super close to paradon and barrage
drifter sealed with a run
also he did blurry dyno but the bag hit his arm on the way up
They are both playing well now and its awesome to have some people to play with.

I'm really not happy with my game at the moment. I'm only add hunting, and I hate that in footbag. I'm really in need of schooling every aspect of my game, but there are many restrictions stopping me.
That I don't want to over do it with my knee, is probably the main reason why I won't play more often. However, there's also the fact that I don't want footbag to become a chore.
And it has felt that way of late, sometimes. I've had a shred session organised and I really don't feel like playing. Last Monday night was the worst of it, for me. I played okish (for me), but just didn't enjoy myself. Everything felt laboured and it felt like a real effort to play.
As a result, I've called off my Monday night kick with Foxy tonight. I want to have a week off and come in fresh. I'm thinking I might just start schooling aspects of my game, instead of add hunting and experimenting with new tricks, for a while.
It's good to play with Jesse and Foxy again as they're both improving every time I see them play (even though Foxy's playing as much as me, and little more - to my knowlege), but sometimes that makes me feel worse.
I don't think it's a platue in my game. I think it's just the limitations set upon me because of my knee and my age and my physique.

Gareth, lately (maybe because I've got nobody to push me and am trying my best not to intimidate newbs) the only runs I've been hitting are just long tiltless runs - I really find this just as fun as going really hard. Adds really mean nothing and if you can work on freestyling without dropping for 20 or 30 seconds that's a great achievement which will impress anybody who hasn't seen footbag. By gaining that kind of consistancy you'll also gain better contol of your legs - which will result in you being able to hit harder moves. I found the other day that without drilling the move at all - suddenly I could hit bedwetters midstring (bedwetter used to be a fairly hard move for me). The only think I can put down to this is the fact that I've been focusing on not dropping the bag.
Anyway best of luck with everything - see you later!

Jesse... Foxy and I are prolly getting very pissed on Saturday night. However, as per tradition, I'm sure we'll stumble into Southbank for a session, if you're keen.
Regarding my dissatisfaction with my game... I haven't played in ages - like, REALLY played, untill reciently. I think I need to see some footage of myself to judge how I'm playing.
I'm just sick of add hunting and having crappy, short runs.

Only a quick entery here, as I'm supposed to be on my way to work, by now.
Had a session with Foxy last night. I needed it after the day I had at work.
We had it lined up (spur of the moment thing) to goto a carpark and shred, but it was closed. So, instead we went and got ourselves a squash court. (there's a story there, which I might tell later).
Anyway it was a good schooling sessions where we drilled everthing - pretty much. I'm changing my switch style and making it more downtime. I also managed to hit some ok runs out of some of my newer 'big' tricks - like symp whirl, and came close to hitting symp whirl midrun a number of times.
I worked out a problem with my right side stepping. I'm not moving across the bag and am finding myself off balance when I set. I'm aware of it now, so I'll probably start improving on that next time.
What else?
Foxy's improving on his atomic. We worked out where he's having problems and it's with him setting the bag forward and across him too much. His spinning is really coming along, with some nice attempts at various tricks.
He hit atomic butterfly last night which was way cool to see - especially as it's his week butterfly - he always misses the butter when trying to ripwalk on that side... it's a mental thing.
Ummmm. I can't think of what else - it's too early and way too cold to think.
Anyway, we both loved the squash court and we'll probably do it again sometime.

It would seem that you can't make it, Jesse.
Anyway, I'd had a shit day at work. People were just getting on my nerves, and it lasted all day. On my way home I was listening to some Deftones - had it CRANKED!
I got home and decided that I really needed to play footbag. I needed to vent, some. So I called up Foxy and had a chat. It turns out he'd been down to A-mart Allsports earlier that day and had thought that the undercover carpark might be a cool place to shred. I thought it sounded good, so I fed my face and drove the 45mins to Foxy's place.
I got there and we did some stuff before heading off to play.
Now, for all you northerners, don't forget that it's winter, down under.
We arrived at the venue only to find the undercover carpark was closed. Bravely we decided we'd have a kick in front of the carpark as it was still well lit.
DAMN it was cold. We quickly realised how impossible it is to play in long pants with a sweatshirt on.
"We need to find a hall or something sometime." I said.
"There's squash courts just up the road from my place." Foxy replied.
Squash court? I thought about it. I'd seen many videos of people playing in squash courts before and always wanted to, but could never justify doing so, when Brisbane has such beautiful weather (asside from this night). But it was a brutally cold night and we talked about it.
"We should go." Said I.
"We can always go and check it out - see how much it costs?"
And so we did.
It was supposed to cost $18 for members, but the guy let us in (even though they were supposed to be closing, he was staying open as he had a booking) for $17. He initially sighed and said $16 was ok, but we found we had some extra change and went in to court 3!
I feel sorry for the guys in the next court. Foxy and I were very loud and it was obvious that we weren't playing squash. I'm sure they were wondering what the hell we were doing in our court with no 'Thwack, thwack' of the squash ball hitting wall and racket.
It was a great night and one I think we're concidering doing again next week.
