Training idea with chainmail bags
Has anyone ever tried shreding with a chainmail bag... in a pool?
Just thought the water would compensate for the weight of the bag and might make for a stronger player.
I could be wrong, but anyone with a chainmail bag and a pool, give it a try and let me know.
Thanks.

I have a chainmail bag (one from Brian Goldner), and it's not much heavier
than a standard 32panel bag. It wouldn't do it really, the bag would
have to be REALLY heavy. Besides, your shoes would have to dry
after every session. What Lon does is pretty good, I think, underwater
shred but without a bag. I need to start with this too to get my knee
back going.

I started training in the pool the second day I ever played shred session. I wanted to be ableto do anything on both sides like the computer, so I did it in the water and have always done it since. No bag I've tried works well though. Rocks don't work either. I've thought about usuing the chainmail, but I think it would rust pretty quick. I can do a few guiltless contacts with one, and it is a bit heavier, but I don't think the limited underwater usability would be worth your ruined chainmail bag.

I don't really understand Zeke's bump at all, however I just wanted to comment that I think a chainmail bag could work - provided you dried it after every session. Weight is not really an issue - what's more important is density - and luckily metal is usually more dense than water - and hence should sink. I really don't know if you'd get any benefit from it or not - but it would be nice to hit a septa round the world.ebo wrote:I have a chainmail bag (one from Brian Goldner), and it's not much heavier

i have done this with a bag full of some stones and sandles. after a while it just seems pointless. i can hit some 3 adds and one or two 4s, but underwater i can hit like an 8. it is good to practice dex speed though
