personally, I don't like rap, but there is a big difference between rap and hiphop, as I have found out in the past 2 weeks, hiphop makes a good vid IMO, rap sucks for a video, IMO, sorry to get off topic, just had to state thatKiser_Tobias wrote:Nate mentions that there is no rap in the video... it's clear he's sick of rap soundtracks (as am I, to a point), and he's stated that.

Rap is hip hop, but hip hop is not rap. HipHop is a culture, a movement, of which Rap is a musical outlet. HipHop encompasses other things, such as graffiti, breakdancing, and scratching. I don't know why people have become infatuated with comparing Rap and HipHop as two different kinds of music, because HipHop is not music specifically. If it's rap, it's just rap.

When people make this comparison, they're usually calling bloated, corporate rap 'rap' and underground and alternative rap 'hip-hop'. There's a big difference between the two. Since this isn't the topic for it, I'm not going to start an argument about it. However, I think you were probably well aware of what James was trying to communicate and just used it as an opening to cite some unimportant differentiation over nomenclature of all things. I agree with James that there's a big difference between 'rap' and 'hip-hop' and that 'hip-hop' can be fantastic for shred videos, as shown by... 90% of Evan Lovely's videos?Stephen Barnes wrote:Rap is hip hop, but hip hop is not rap. Also, about the issue of a soundtrack -- fuck music! Live sound is the best way to get a feel for an event!

CSS6 VIDEO ROCKS!
However, I wish people would stop doing slow motion video. It's a waste of time. Especially when you don't then show it again iat normal speed or show it a normal speed and then go back and show it in slow mo.
Loren Does Rock, He's one of the best. Even has World Records.

I love ya lon....
Everyone who reads this should take a minute to sincerely hope with their hearts that Lon makes a full recovery and can continue to bless us with his footbag magic, as exihibited in this video, for years to come. The energy's of hundreds of people working together can do wonders.
Thanks again for the great video, I showed it to a bunch of family and friends and they all loved it.

Sorry to hijack the thread even more.. but hip-hop is not, and was never meant to be music. It is poetry which uses music as a base to express itself, and does so excellently.Nagasake wrote:When people make this comparison, they're usually calling bloated, corporate rap 'rap' and underground and alternative rap 'hip-hop'.
