I'd like to say thanks for the Canadians that came to MFJ 2 this last weekend because it was SICK! I wanted to shred with you guys on Saturday morning, but I was too hungover, sore, and tired to get up because of Evan's small sofa...(I knew I shouldn't've rode with Pimpske after footbagging on Saturday). I'm for sure going to ShrEdmonton to shred with youse guys. I already talked to my boss and got the weekend off then, so all I need to do now is pay! I learned so much at MFJ 2, so I'm stoked about going. If I can get a ride and/or Greyhound ticked to Nampa this weekend, I'm going to the Wesak festival to shred with Daryl and Penske again. 8O

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing that the reason there are no routine's is the lack of people to JUDGE them. With most event's it's pretty easy for the other player's to kinda judge them and make it fair, but that's harder with routines.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

you are correct. I can barely count, not to mention count adds... Kevin R could do it, he is a nerd ;) and Im sure many others could, but its way more of a hassle to run routines than shred 30 and big 3.

it will rule anyways.

Cheers

Man, when I was still kicking I remeber talking to you guys about this tourney. Looks like it should be a good one, if I was still into kicking I would defiantely try and make the 45 min drive.

We were toying with the idea of changing around the Shred 30 rules. I think it would be wise for us to announce it and have you think what you would prefer, so here it is.

As it was before, Shred 30 is simply shred for 30 seconds with no limitation on contacts.

Our new proposition would be to cap it at 30 contacts yet have a time limit of 35 seconds to prevent people from taking long breaks when they drop or whatever.

Your thoughts?

Man, I'm still stoked to go to Edmonton. We footbagged today at the market and I hit a few new moves (almost hit dimwalk, too). I think Evan got some pretty sick shred footage.

it's called "30 second shred" for a reason: you have 30 seconds to shred. if it was called "30 contact shred with a cap at 35 seconds max" then that would be cool, but it's not.

don't change it.

Indeed Andrew. A simple answer would have sufficed, not a post with what I interpreted as being full of attitude explaining the obvious.

The rules aren't changed - it is still a 30 second shred. However, I took the initiative of seeing what the players prefered before any manipulations were made.

Any others?

EDIT - All this talk about ShrEdmonton is getting me anxious!! It's going to rock so much!!

Joe, my Rattata is at level 12 now so you better watch out! ;)

Andrew, I understand your qualm I suppose...but using the name of the event as backup for how it should be done is kind of lame.

Nothing is guaranteed yet, but:

If it was "30 second shred" we were doing, then the rules would reflect the namesake. As you said.

If it was, "30 second shred with a cap at 35 seconds max", there's a good chance we'd just say "Shred30", and make sure everyone knows the rules.

We're not re-writing the rules for "30 second shred". We're moving away from a timed event that does not cater towards stylistic differences and variance in body-types.

Clearly we wouldn't call it "30 second shred" if we were doing something other than "30 second shred".

It's like making Mac & Cheese and calling it a "Pizza with different ingredients." That makes no sense. Why not just call it Mac & Cheese?
