modified merchandise

Post by Jeremy »

A few questions:

If modified merchandise was available - would you buy it (assuming the price was ok)?

Where do you think the profits should go? ie. to the person organising it? To the IFPA? There should be no profit?

What kind of merchandise would you like to see? (ie. tshirts, stickers, hats, bags, g-strings etc)

Just curious as to your opinions... ;)

Say $10 USD for 1 year would be a good price I think. I would pay

I think it should go to the IFPA

Bags,or hats would be nice to see.

But only for female guitars...

I would buy a shirt if they were cool, but what footbag shirt isnt. And by bags do you mean like a messenger bag or a footbag?

Actually I was thinking. If merchandise was a hit and you guys made alot of profit, why not buy one year memberships as prizes for stuff. Like all the contests on the forum. Or like when a new kid joins and hits 300 posts or something?

well for starters - a shirt like this for $14 us

There's a profit margin of $5us which would go directly to the IFPA (ie. no prizes or anything like that).

Note that that isn't a real shirt - it's just a design for a shirt that I thought would be cool - here is the a bigger version of the logo:

Obviously this isn't a design trying to promote footbag - it's not really a footbag shirt - it's a modified shirt.

Hey I like soccer too - I stayed up till 6 or 7 am the other day to watch a team I support from England play in a soccer game and then went to bed because I hate watching them lose (although in the end they won).

The "I hate Soccer" is just a joke referring to the question I (and I'm sure many many other people) get asked when shredding public.

"Wow you're really good - Do you play soccer?"

Do you think people would ask you that question if you were wearing a shirt that said "I hate soccer" ?

How about:

"No they are just normal shoes"

I would like a shirt that had every country listed on it that is represented on this board. That would be cool.

I would definately buy modified gear! It's the quintessential footbag community, and a big part of my online experience. Shirts, bags (not footbags, more like equipment bags), and maybe a hat or two would appeal to me. If you/we do make shirts though, I would LOVE to see Ben Skaggs' signature on one:

No, I don't play soccer.
Yes, there are competitions.
Year and a half.
Lots and lots of practice.

Something like that. Think of all the time it would save you if people didn't have to stop and ask-- they can just read your shirt! :)

Fantastic Idea, I dig the sig. Secondly-really lightweight shorts with some modified shtick on it; and definately boxer briefs. Let's not flame other sports though.

The shirt with all the countries on it-I would buy in a heartbeat if I could afford it. I think we should have another voting session just like the modified logo & what prices we would pay. I loved the I <3 Footbag shirts, but I couldn't shovel out $20 for it

bens sig would be really cool
in what way do we alienate from soccer players ? Everyone his own favor. If people won't play this great sport because of me wearing that shirt they maybe wouldn't have made it very long

Cool idea!

Guaranteed that for every 10 people who say they would definitely buy modified gear... you'd get 1 to 2 who actually follow through. Unless it was for sale at an event.

I would suggest that you don't give the money to the IFPA. I think the IFPA is great, but I would like to see more physical cash get put into events, which the IFPA doesn't do.
How about selling the shirts at cost plus shipping and $1 (for your trouble) to event organizers and allowing them to sell them and keep the profit for their event. Whatever they don't sell can be saved for the next event, returned, or transferred on to another event director.

Ah yes, Ive been looking for people to sell gear. I personally like hoodies and t-shirts for clothing. For other stuff, I like stickers and maybe patches for backpacks and stuff? How about some generic "Footbag" and "modified.ca" under it or something?
