Please add "Dimmiest" I dont actually know what this is, does anyone else?

dimmiest is pixie paradon. I think there is much debate about if it's a genuine move name or not. I don't use it but I can see that it makes sense. Dimmier is pixie over down - which I like to call POD.

Thanks for clearing that up Jeremy. I think the names go well.

I think fairy butterfly should have a better nam than fairy beater? Perhaps one related to dimwalk...

Then you could have Murkiest and Murkier or Shadier and Shadiest for the dod and parradon versions.

It would just fit it with its toe same[dex] counterpart, pixie.

Fadewalk strikes me as an obvious 'walk' name for fairy butterfly.

The good footbag names are the ones where you can figure out the trick from the name. Pigbeater, fucking butterfly, big apple sauce, ect.

The thing I would like to do is a moves database with a search engine. I need a server and .. time to work on it

It would be nice to put every move in database and everybody could view them sorted by different categories. And to everyone could add a tip to every move - like on footbag.org ... This are only some dreams, but I don't know if I will have a time to do that. And it's a litle bit hard, because there always will be someone, who will tell that the list is incorrect: they will be arguing about x-dex, about reffering to the sides and other things. And actually.. the best search engine ever is ctrl + f in browser - but not everyone know that it exsist.

I have a request...please change all the 'illusioning legovers' to EGGBEATERS...it'll make things a little more efficient.

Oh yeah if you like you can add:

hopwalk: reverse ripwalk (hopping op butterfly)
hopscotch: reverse blur (hopping pdx mirage)
hopdown: reverse sidewalk (hopping ss butterfly)
hop: hopping ss mirage
slaughter: reverse miraging symp mirage
crossfire: atomic gyro symp whirl

Just wanted to point out that traditionally, a move ending in the "far" mirage using a new set gets named after the set. In the case of tapping, tapping implies ss, so the basic mirage is named after the set.

It seems like the hopping set is a bubba set, so by established naming conventions, hopping pdx mirage would be Hop, and hopping ss mirage would be something else.

Of course, they are your moves, so feel free to name them whatever you like. I just wanted to point out that the proposed names don`t follow the established convention, and therefore might be confusing.

Hey - I'm sure one of the Max's from Europe (I forget which one) mentioned that somebody in Europe had been doing reverse stepping sets for some time - and this was waaaaaaay back around Jan 2004.

Also what's the actual difference between "hopping" and the "bubba" sets that people like Ales and Felix have been hitting for a long time? I presume the jobs are exactly the same and it's a clip set op out hippy dex...

I agree with the guy who said you should name each move, wherever that was posted in this thread

. Not single moves like paradon, montage, and big apple. But naming moves that consist of a set. Taking in consideration a few of them-
Pixie
Fairy
Quantum
Atomic
Stepping/Blurry
Barraging/Furious
Nuclear
Surging
And then for each set figure out moves to add to each one-
Blender
Torque
DOD
Butterfly
Mirage
Illusion
Legover
Pickup
Drifter
Double Legover
Eggbeater
Stuff like dimwalk (pixie butterfly) and parkwalk (pixie ss butterfly) in association with sidewalk (stepping butterfly) and ripwalk (stepping inifnity). Al moves seem to get names, but some moves are missed out. I believe that if all the sets are put together with all common downtime moves, then the current nicknames are connected to them. Then name the rest of the moves, one by one, with relation with there predasessor or similar component move.

Anyone agree

shane, I personally do not agree. I think only brand new downtime components should receive new move names, and then we say whatever uptime component or duck or paradox before the name. it will lead to less needless move naming, and a more straightforward system of naming. We could change a lot of the old names to fit this system, but a lot of people are opposed to that. but I think my suggestion would be a good precedent to set.

It sucks that there is a move called Merlin, and it's paradox version is called Voodoo. What's a Paratoxic that is set from op toe instead of same clipper? Toxic?

the downtime component should have the name, not the paradox move.

A hopping set is what was demonstrated in one of Jorden's videos. That other thing that people do is an attempt at a hopping set, but falls short. And I hit my first hopping set waaaaaaay before January 2004. I think maybe near the end of 2002, with Yax and Seb as witness.
Sorry for a being a stickler about this but I'm entitled to my minor slice of footbag glory. And sets are almost fully explored, catch em while they're hot.

edit: When I thought of the names I was thinking of convention and I had 'tap' and 'slap' in my mind so naturally 'hop' would be appropriate for the ss version. Too late to change now though, it would be more confusing to switch or change the names.

Dunno if this goes here, but I did a couple of weird moves with outside variations. One is Mordor, which is outside atomic set op outside, and the other is an outside fairy same clipper, but I haven't made my nickname for it. Mordor is really weird to do.

I am not totally sure but, if I remember correctly when I made a move list a while back I mentioned it on flipsider's forum, but there was a move called-
Clown Shoes - Furious Legbeater
Not sure if that is right
also blacula is a symp dod

Edit: Juno Reactor - Sailing Whirl
Also Rage is backside fury

Matt I believe the reason we name moves is so they are not such a mouthfull to say and a headfull to process.
If we named only downtime eomponents then moves like montage would be called things like spinning ducking symposium paradox whirl... right?
