Clipper strings VS. Toe shuffles

What do you guys prefer to see? Lately, I've been seeing alot of clipper players, which is cool to see. Toe shuffles are always sweet to see.

But, I must say, I'm really impressed when a player takes the two and forms an equal balance into their style.

So, Clipper strings? Toe Shuffles? or an Equal amount of both?

I deffenatly don't like it when I see only clipper strings unless the person is wearing wierd shoes or something. I don't mind toe shuffles as much because it's so much different then what you normally see. I do prefer I nice mix though.

Ive been working hard to combine both in my game.

I think it looks sweet when someone can incorporate a ton of concepts into their strings, shuffle, dowtime stuff, ducks and unusual stuff.

I am bored by footage of homoginized sidewalk>ripwalk rpt.

Hopefully one day I'll be able to put it all together, maybe something along the lines of Jorden variety.

An equal amount of toe moves is ALOT of toes. Watch yax in his old vids and hes about 66% clipper, 33% toe, and hes toe heavy! Anyone who isn't about variety is square but clipper moves and especialy clipper bails are cooler IMO.

I love toes.. just cuz it seems alot faster.. I like fast. But truthfully I like a healthy combination of both, and I think clipper based moves look more challenging, but I'm still a sucker for toes.. A toe sucker if you will.

A string of just cross body toes, dragons and other strange delays..
A little of both! The most style moves contain clippers so if i should choose one i would say clippers..

all toe is far harder than all clipper. what impresses me more is all toes, but i like to see both, à la yves.

I definitly go with both. Actually I looked over some footage of myself and it's fairly close to 50% - some runs are more toe dominate and some are more clipper dominate. Definitly if you're doing toe stuff it's easier to bail to a clipper move - even if you're going genuine.

I tend to think clipper based shuffle is a lot harder than toe shuffle if you're going unique. Toe shuffle you can hit stuff like fear>smear>atom>rep>tap>magellan>pixie switch>rep etc.

Clipper shuffle - after hitting rip>side repeat you're forced into hitting 5s or moves that are about that difficulty. This is why shuffle with both clips and toes is so much better - because then you can hit blurs, shmoes etc.

Almost all the shuffle drills I work on involve both clips and toes. My warm up shuffle drill at the moment is ripwalk>shmoe>parkwalk repeat and the other one I'm doing a lot is blur>fear>fairy butterfly repeat - basically drilling my fairy sets.

edit: my bad I thought you were just talking about shuffle - all toe is way harder than all clipper. Using both is by far the easiest though - at least for me.

Even though I just said it was probably the easiest - both because that's definitly more interesting - especially if the person is busting big moves from toes and clippers.

it so sweet, i just met up with this guy in boston who actually footbags, and we kicked once a week a couple weeks in a row now, and he has much better toe stuff than i have, and my clipper game is slightly better than him, so its great to watch him do lots of sweet toe work, and i can show him some clipper stuff, and we are both learning a lot faster now.

and i prefer a balance...like mosh said, i get sick of seeing the same stuff in vids and shit

The latest Yacine videos were really yummy, and old Chris footage is insane (as well as Kevin Regamey!), I think clipper moves are a lot easier to perform SMOOTHLY, and this gives clippers style points for me. I enjoy PLAYING clippers more because they are much less effortful; I can play slow, and I feel more like I am dancing and having fun. Toe play for me is intense, fast, and unforgiving. If you play majorly toes you definately discover more of a repitoire(?) of your own individual toe bails (for me it was symp moves and ducking moves, because they gave me more time).

I love to see both -- the aggressive toe style is inspiring and gets my pulse racing, but I think clippers win, say 65 to 35-ish. Maybe even 70-30.

I think what this question does, though, is ignores half of the moves in the sport -- the moves that either begin on clipper and end on toe, or begin on toe and end on clipper. I realized this when I pictured smoke as a toe move and realized it ended on clipper. Smoke is such a sweet move. ALL clipper and ALL toe are both so limiting, but when it comes down to it, for me, all clipper whips. Spinning, ducking, blurry whirls, blurry drifters.

...maybe my perspective on exclusively-toe isn't very broad -- maybe the "toe game" has still to be pushed (let's see the implimentation of 30-second toes already! We're totally doing this at Hackrifice this year! If enough tournament directors involve this event, I think toe games will sky-rocket! GO!)

Prefer to see? I don't know. Balanced strings I think, and with this I don't mean heavy drilling; I mean I like to see using both clippers and both toes.
But sometimes "theme" runs are fantastic. I don't vote this time cause I really can't make up my mind.

I play with one of the best toe shufflers (Loren Baum) in the world, every week, so I'm kinda spoiled in that aspect. I like seeing a balance of both, but nothing can compare to an all clipper run from Vasek. So that's why I voted for all clipper runs.

I like the look of Clipper Runs because they involve more natural spinning momentum.
