Greetings Fellow Footbaggers from a New Modified User (Me)

Post by Raptile »

Hello you all. My name is Andrew. Sloppy advised me to say whatup in this forum since I am a new member as of today. I am 19 and have been hacking on and off (meaning years on and off) since about 4th grade. I am now about to start my second semester in college at UNO in New Orleans.

Time to get to the chase. That's enough nonsense. I want to learn some things on here. Names for tricks. I guess I would consider myself to be a pretty decent freestyler. I've got a lot of work to do especially with my left foot. I will create a footblog. Well I think that's about it. Stay under your sack (that's the key) and Adios.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeah I brought someone to modified! Someone who will probably actually post. Whoa!

Andrew's a great guy - he gave me a place to crash when I was in New Orleans and we shredded it up some and whatnot. He's fairly new to the terminology but he was footing shit like Phoenix and Assasin when I played with him so he's definitely sick.

Later!

To learn some new terminology check out the Knowledge setction at www.flipsider.com and the Freestyle section at www.footbag.org. Those helped me tremendously.

HAHAHAHAHAHA That's me guys. (Sloppy Dave) It's a nickname I received in college. Here let me give you the story:

I am a jazz studies major and I play trombone. I made the top jazz ensemble in my music school as a freshman last year, which hardly anyone ever does (as a freshman, I mean). So the guys (and girl) in my section (as well as the rest of the damn ensemble) gave me crap all year. It was fun though. Well, one day, during like October, I was wearing flip flops (as usual) and I had my feet rested on top of them. The section leader at the time told me that I needed to "Put [my] damn feet inside [my] flip flops!" so I was like "Alright Matt, sheesh." and he goes "Dude I'm just fucking with you, just don't be so sloppy!" And then later in the rehearsal, the lead alto sax was commenting on how the brass were articulating too sloppy, and Matt and Pablo (the first two chairs in the trombone section) go "Yeah like SLOPPY DAVE, SLOPPY SLOPPY SLOPPY DAVE. SLIPPIDY SLOP! SLOPPY DAVE! SLIPPIDY SLAP! SLOPPY DAVE!" And then it became this huge thing and it kinda stuck. I'm even introduced at concerts as "Sloppy Dave" now. So whereas my old nickname was "The Foot" and then "BigDirtyFoot" my new nickname is "Sloppy Dave." And I had told Andrew this story when I met him, so that's why he mentioned me as Sloppy, and not Dave.
