Jeff's Footblog

Post by Badnfluenc »

Hi, names Jeff. I have been playing footbag for about 2 months now, give or take a few days. I live in Las Vegas, and i guess I can call myself one of the Zombies, because i play with them every saturday.

Anyways, in the 2 months that i have been playing i have learned alot.
I have hit:
mirages
legovers
pickups
ATW
Clippers
Osis's (still working on improving them though)
Pdx Mirage
Pdx pickup
Pdx Drifter a few times
DATW a few times
rake
xbody rakes
DLO a few times
Both Sides Smp mirage

All my paradox moves are with a right clipper set, my flipside clippers are still weak.
By next saturday, i plan to be able to set high enough out of my left clippers to be able to do some tricks. Also improve my DATW, Osis's, DLO, and pixie legovers.

Welcome Jeff!! Yay! Blog party :!:

Doin real good man, (this is the guy who hit the double Henry) but you should work on all the stuff in Steve's blog that you don't have. And vice versa, he should be checking here. This way, you guys have two working perceptions of how to train and what to hit at this level.

Peace and shred on,
Bum

Welcome to Modified dude! It's great to have you. I can't wait to be able to read what kind of stuff you are hitting during the week and then see the stuff your hitting on Saturday!

Nice work!

Did you hit whirl on both sides? You always want to do that because you will regret it later when you can do awesome tricks on one side, but can barely do 3 add tricks on the other side.

I would suggest also working on butterflys. They are probably the most important 3 add trick you can do. Work on those and then do thess drills over and over to help with both your butterflys and your osii:

osis > ss butterfly > repeat
osis > op butterfly > op butterfly > repeat

Also took my new truck out rompin behind Lone Mountain for the first time... IT WAS INSANE! almost tipped twice though.

Well since i have statred playing about 2 months ago, i have gotten a total of 5 kids!! to buy lavers at my school. And this coming saturday one of them is coming to check out our club at UNLV with his girlfriend who also plays.

Well tomorrow i hope to get atleast 2 hours of practice in before work.

Yeah, he's pretty amazing Travis, but he was just playing catch up with Steve and Andrew and got used to practicing a lot and that was all it took. The more you play, the better you'll get.

Great job with Whirl and all the threes and other good links, you're doing real well.

You should mention the weight thing, it'll inspire some people :-)

Thanks man, I know its hard. Props on being honest. Just think of how many kids you'll inspire with that staement though. I bet Travis and John will be influenced in addition to random blog fans.

yeah, you totally just look big, not fat. Its just hard to keep big centered...and if you footbag enough, big gets smaller, and that really just helps your body work better and you live happier, while footbag gets to be a piece of cake. Imagine when every set is as easy as your in to out dex? One day you will be sick :-)

Well after testing today i decided to meet some friends at the YMCA to play some ping pong. On my way there i was stuck behind a bus, and Noe gets off. So i pull over and offer him a ride, and find out he only lives a few blocks away! Now i finally have someone to shred with, and learn from. And if his parents will let me drive him to footbag on saturdays he said he would definetly be willing.

When i finally did start to play today i was doing horrible, couldn't clipper or anything. So i just worked on freezing clippers. And flipside.

well today i went to see the health card video. Then after that i got a call from bum to come over, so he schooled me some because i was the only one that did show up. He tought me stepping motion, and watching him today inspired me to go back and learn my moves uptime before i move on.

When i went home i spent the next 2 hours, until i began posting this, trying to learn uptime pixies and mirages, they are getting better, but still not what im looking for. Also its helping my legs to become faster, so soon enough i will get the motions and timing down through practice. Then i hope to begin learning double dexes

Also worked a little more on freezing clipper motion and osis, im learning to set the osis down rather than swinging my foot and sending the bag away.

So in the next 2 months moves id like to hit are
mirage (uptime)
pixie (uptime)
pixie legovers
improve my fairies and illiusions
smear
Torque
DLO
